Everyone knows, recently the price of Bitcoin reached $61k+ and for some currencies, such as IDR, BTC has reached a new ATH because the IDR/USD rate has changed quite significantly compared to the rate when the previous ATH was formed.

Sounds like FOMO. I don’t know if we will see bitcoin at 150k by the end of the year, no one can say that for sure. If you’re one easily swayed by price movements in bitcoin, you are likely to make the mistake of buying bitcoin at the top. It’s more profitable to buy bitcoin during the bear market than bullish seasons.

Totally a FOMO but it does make sense to buy now for short-term gains if you ask me but for a long-term one, there's going to be a time that it's better to buy more and the price at this point is definitely going to go down anytime soon because other people are shifty too about the price being too high really fast, there's bound to be a correction somewhere and you don't want to buy a lot of bitcoin right now when you can't see yourself being strong or not succumbing to panic when the correction starts. Best thing to do in my opinion is to do a DCA still because that way, you're not totally missing out since you're still investing satoshi by satoshi and you're safe in the case that there's a price connection and you're not shocked when it happens because you've taken your investment real slow. That's just my strategy on this current price but there's others that might be more effective when it comes to investing in such a precarious situation, after all, what works for me might not work for you or probably worse do something that will lead to the opposite direction.

Another tip that I'd like to add is you can probably benefit from saving some fiat too so in the case that bitcoin's price goes down then you can probably get some more value out of the bitcoin purchase compared to just doing DCA alone.

The recent bitcoin rally is really unexpected for me. I did expect 2024 to be a good year for bitcoins, but never thought about that the first two month would go like this. Anybody that already holds some bitcoins will be celebrating and all the people that thought about buying bitcoins and didn't do it will feel bad. The question is now if it's really a optimal time to be buying new coins? For anybody that is following a DCA approach I would recommend to keep buying. If you have been buying in the last 12 months than you already made a big profit and can afford the high prices today. I am sure we are going to see a new ATH this year and there will be more profits to come. For anybody who is looking to make a large investment now with bitcoins I would rather recommend to split your money and make smaller purchases over a longer period of time. There is always the risk of falling prices and it could take a while for bitcoins to recover and lead to a profit again.
