Both are good coins, Ethereum has a long term reputation of good trustworthiness, longevity is obviously a big positive for anything you want to invest in. There is probably more upside with Solana though, it could outperform Ethereum over the short to mid term & deliver higher ROI.

I think choosing Ethereum is better way for invesment. Because we know that there is no Altcoin that is more famous than Ethereum and especially in a few moments there will be an ETF on Ethereum, of course this will make the price more higher. The only problem currently with Ethereum is that it has huge fees. This is of course because the blockchain is very dense. But I'm sure this will be improved by the developer soon.

I think Solana was only chosen because of its lower costs making it an alternative for shipping. If I can say, I prefer BNB over Solana. BNB is more popular than Solana. Agree with @DeathAngel, sol to me would be a more profitable option because it has more upside than buying eth with that amount. I mean that amount can still give you up to 10 sol while you can't have 1eth with same amount.
Eth has reputation no doubt but sol is not doing bad as well, the blockchain has produce great projects that has done well and continue to expand. price wise sol has performed great too. However, it is always important to make your own financial decision regardless of what others says.

I think Ethereum and Solana are both the best altcoins to invest in right now. Ethereum hit $4k this month, although Ethereum has now taken a bit of a correction, I expect the future bull run to surpass past records in Ethereum price. I think the biggest surprise this time is Solana's price increase, I thought Solana would pump up the current Bitcoin price increase but I didn't think the price would exceed $200. Sounds good but bitcoin would have to go up a ton (trillions of dollars) in order for my investment to be worth something to me. Solana has a low market cap making it perfect for long term investment since it has a lot more upside potential. If I invest 2000 dollars into solana right now and it goes up 10x then I'll make a whole 18000 dollars. Even if it doesn't it's still a good long term investment because of all of the cool projects on its blockchain.

Personal opinion is certainly more promising BTC than altcoins but you are free to choose which one because ROI will certainly be different.

That's pretty hard to decide which one is better they are both performing fine but I think Solana is I think much more active these days than Ethereum I think due to transaction fees according to them Solana transaction fees are cheaper than Ethereum and Solana is way faster than Ethereum.

ETH definitely would be my choice because we are talking about one of the biggest coins out there, trailing only bitcoin. It has improved itself countless times as well and that's the most important part of it, there has been a lot of "forks" and innovations and new features on it that ETH always managed to stay on top of the game.

I still believe the same during this period as well, whatever gets hyped, ı bet you that ETH will have some sort of involvement with it. Remember 2021, ETH had both gaming market, NFT market, decentralized exchange market and everything else all under its umbrella. to be honest OP should understand his own risk appetite whether fast paced investment is of his interest or is it slow paced investment but will yield a more sure reward at the end of the investment.
solana so far as I've seen from it's chart has been showing massive growth but this could also means two thing, solana already reached its peak and will probably hardly climb up again or it will have really fast bullrun in the future considering its nature and the hypes revolve around the coin itself, the entire meme community nowaday fixated on this chain meaning more demand for solana but ethereum also have no shortage of such projects.

First, none of Ethereum and Solana will be my choice at this point, they've moved too high already. And for the record, I do not know the reason for liquidating Bitcoin for Ethereum when the two are moving with almost the same magnitude and percentage when they depreciate and appreciate in value.

Still, I may consider Solana because it is gaining more traction than before due to its upgrade and scalability, and it is now a better rival to higher cryptocurrencies. This may make it move more than expected. In the absence of that, I prefer a lesser-value coin/token which may still surely move at least 10 times the present value. On the contrary, with the present statuses of Ethereum and Solana, they can't achieve that in this bull run anymore.

as of right now people seem to favour solana due to its good profit that it presented but honestly both solana and ethereum is just as good but there's reason why ethereum market cap is as big as now.
mainly because it just exists earlier and also the first one to invent smart contract blockchain thats why its having huge market cap, there are also already established project that are huge in the chain, meanwhile solana just only recently getting some big project like jup and so on.
from the perspective of investment, both are just as good, but i think ethereum is more good if you prefer investment that are rather stable and not too volatile, solana from my opinion still too volatile the price fluctuates a lot but its good for people trying to find profit within short term.

There is no doubt that SOL is a good coin and I also agree with you that it is already reaching its peak. I see a very bright future for SOL because I don't think SOL will stop here.
As we all know Bitcoin's halving event is still on its way and every time the market goes up after the halving, it can be said that the bull run has not started yet, the bull run is about to start. Therefore, the coins that are currently at their peak are likely to go even higher.

The most profitable and successful project after Bitcoin is currently Ethereum. Although so far it has not been able to grow its old ATH, still I am sure with Ethereum that Ethereum will catch the pack and give good profits to its investors. I will not advise you to invest in solana only or neither ethereum, but as we are entering into bullrun definitely every coin may likely have or experienced positive support, the thing is that based on the conditions of the market right as I portray before now in this thread or a similar thread, that you should split the funds and invest at least five hundred dollars worth of solana and five hundred worth of ethereum and conserved one thousand worth of bitcoin in your wallet...because what any cryptocurrency investor needs is a diversification of investment, so having different portfolio will be if advantages for cryptocurrency investor base on it's bullrun and bearish,  because nobody can predict the future of Bitcoin accurately.

Both are good coins, Ethereum has a long term reputation of good trustworthiness, longevity is obviously a big positive for anything you want to invest in. There is probably more upside with Solana though, it could outperform Ethereum over the short to mid term & deliver higher ROI.

There is not doubt that Ethereum and Solana are good and money making coins so I think changing of some bitcoin to buy Ethereum and Solana is not a bad idea if a person has no remaining amount for investment.

Solana's value and market growth progress is indeed quite fast. Maybe it's also because Solana comes with a solution to cheap and fast transaction fees which is a problem that occurs with Ethereum and Bitcoin.
Binance smart chain also attracted attention first because of its low costs. but the situation of their network adoption declined when quite a lot of new tokens from the BSC network were also scams.
I don't know if it will also have an impact on the Solana network, we can also see that currently many tokens on the Solana network are also scams, maybe also because of the current popularity of memecoins.

Ethereum and Solana are two very good project, they're both blockchain projects that are leading in the creation of a good blockchain for other cryptocurrency to be operating on. Solana is really trending now and that is why some traders and investors thinks Solana is outshining Ethereum which is not so.
I could remember back in few years ago when Ethereum price skyrocketed making holding to make massive profists from $200 to $2000.
So now that Solana is trending, some still think that Ethereum can not be compared to Solana forgetting that everything is based on trend.

New projects can't win if they won't come up with a new feature. The idea is to grab a couple of them and reap the benefit that entails with them. Meme coins are only meme coins but it's interesting on how they are being picky with the network that they will get deployed. If they are serious as this, it would be better if they don't create their project under meme coins.

It's okay if there will be no meme coins in the established projects because it only affects their reputation. Each crypto has their own charm, this is why you can't get the same benefits on ETH and SOL but we can have them both so that we won't miss out the other.

Solana is bullshit blockchain that already pump hard due to hype. You can lose a huge percentage of your holdings once there’s a severe correction happened and meme coins/other shitcoins on Solana blockchain is not profitable anymore.
