I will create the new forum software that obviously will not be finished in a timely manner (or at all) for free. The exact details of what the forum should be should be finalized and other things set. I am open to working with other members of the community to make this a reality and welcome any suggestions. The creation of this software is extensive yes, but what you've been lead to believe about the complexity, cost and how long it should take is absolutely ridiculous.

I will not be creating this at a total loss though I will likely monetize it in some way at a later time to recoup costs/make some profit. Even Satoshi profited from bitcoin so I see no problem with this. The forum itself doesn't have to contribute anything to the project if they don't wish to and I'm open to speaking with Theymos on what he wants for the forum and what he would like the terms to be, that is if he's willing to talk.

I feel this has been put off for to long, peoples money has been taken and it's not nearing completion at all. It's time to take some initiative if you have any questions or suggestions please leave a reply.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I'm not charging anyone anything? I'd monetize my own that doesn't effect how other forums function.

If your software is better than the software that Slickage creates, then I will of course use yours. You'd have to be very skilled and dedicated to compete with several full-time programmers, though.

The requirements are here:

They may be modified slightly in the future, but that'll be the base.
