Gambling and Betting. Why the Distinction?

The word gambling/gamble can be used in more wider perspective than just for the actual gambling while betting usually denotes some amount of money at stake. Google shows results from the Wikipedia it's just written by someone and can be edited by anyone so if you want to look out the meaning then both defines the same with slight differences and as long as you understand what it denotes there is no issue at al.

Don't jeopardize any opportunity that comes your way, because winning literally comes from unexpected projects and matches. Gambling and betting are the same thing, do not allow minor words to control one and leaving us in a confused office. There are more useful information in the space, we just have to spot out the necessary ones and ensure to make good use of them. We understand the basic information passed down to us and that will be the end for the day.

Lol...it baffled me how gullible some people could be, this is how they are using a little cajoling to confuse them which is not supposed to be so so long as they are adults. Gambling and betting are just the same things but different words because betting is a form of gambling, and vice versa. So if someone is now trying to believe he can reposition the narrative, then it is the person who is merely deceiving himself.

Irrespective of that, all that is good towards gambling/betting is for the person to fully understand the context so that he can play them well, have fun or gamble for the money moderately/reasonably and get satisfied and not be irresponsible towards it. Having a different feeling/description just because of the name is not going to take anyone anywhere, that is just the truth, except for how we handle gambling individually.

I was today years old when I found out that if betting and gambling isn't exactly the same thing. If you Google the word betting most of the  results will be in regards to sports betting. Also Google the word gambling and you will see most results refer to casino games. In my own opinion whether we bet on the outcome of a sports event or we bet on games of luck and skill in the casino, they are both the same thing. Which is why I wonder why there is this distinction between the two? Why can't we say casino betting just as we say sports betting or sports gambling just as we refer to the casino when we talk about gambling? I know it sounds weird saying casino betting or sports gambling but what do you think about this?

Most People consider casino games as gambling due to the fact that it's been controlled by the book makers, it's not just gambling it's risky gambling, the house decides what happens next and you are putting your money in their hands... sports on the other hand is classified as betting to some because the risk is quite lower, to me these two words go together, but most people wouldn't agree to that

Gambling is easy to distinguish from betting. The whole difference is that in gambling, a person trying to make money on “entertainment” participates directly himself (no matter, against real people or computer algorithms), but in betting, this person doesn't participate in the process itself (the sporting event) and trying to make money, predict the outcome of a sporting (not necessarily) event. Also, it should be noted that when betting, a person tries to predict, predict the outcome of an event, whereas in gambling (for example, in slots), he is only subject to the influence of chance. And in some cases, like card games, it can influence the outcome of events, thanks to the ability to participate in the gameplay (as mentioned above).

And I see that the difference between the two sentences in question is not much. The two are close together considering that they both need money to use as capital and there are only two results, namely winning or losing.
My opinion on this is not unusual and the question is worth discussing.
Some people only think that gambling is about sports betting such as betting on football matches or gambling is just playing cards and the like.

Gambling means having an expectancy for return or consequence as an activity while betting is the actual action of doing so, and not on the game involved. Whether you actually participated or not, as long as you've wagered something or any amount for your biased opinion regarding the match outcome then you both did gamble and bet at the same time.

Just their subjective opinion and self contructed definition of what gambling and betting are. Casino games are a form of gambling and so does sports betting. Instead of looking at the difference why not focus on the risk involved and how will it be managed by the individual doing either gambling or betting.

GAMBLING is a general term for anything that involves staking your cash in expectancy, for a huge return if it cuts... It has no collusion with the term betting. BETTING simply refers to the process of wagering your already made predictions. Don't miss the point!

I don't think that sports bet is equally risky as other gambling games. I also would not distinguish between gambling games and betting based on the risk factor. I think betting is a form of gambling which is more of a calculated type of game and you have data with you to make decisions. Casino games don't let you process any data and you go for pure luck based win while in the betting you have some data to make analysis but in the end it is luck that will make us win both casino and betting games.

Generally speaking, betting is the act of staking money on how something will turn out.

You don't have to stake money for it to be a bet. You can bet on items, simple things like being right and receiving respect.
Betting is a part of gambling, but you can bet without any money. Friends often bet each other that they can do something and they get respect in return, or they get to eat the last candy or drink free beer at the expense of the loser.
You can bet from time to time without being a gambler, but a gambler is not someone who bets for fun. Usually this word is used to describe serious players. A guy who bets on one football match a month is not really a gambler in the full sense of the word.

Hmm it's somehow confusing when reading it from this view, so someone can bet and still not be called a gambler? Or is the terms actually used for serious bettor rather than a one time or someone who often follow up with the acts of gambling? Am a little bit confuse and please forgive my confusion because what I felt before now that is Gambling or betting is actually the same thing as one is tied to the other.

Of course you can make a bet and not be called a gambler in the situation that example above. Have you ever bet with friends at school, or with your siblings? We'd do it all the time, in the most basic things like movies. -I could beat anyone here in armwrestling. -I bet you couldn't! -Fine, let's see who's right, if you win I'll say you're the best armwrestler in school. Was that a bet? Sure. Are people involved actually gambling? It depends how you see it. The way I see it, as long as the bets are harmless and all you can win is respect you're not a gambler.

Both casino games and betting are done by bookmakers but casino games are built in control by a simple way that it doesn't need to be change all over all the time unless when the house notice their is too much win from a particular game where they suspend it for that time, reprogram it and then put it back online to mild players after winning many times.

However, sport betting bookmakers change their games almost every day as long as tournament and leagues are available, they change them base on how the interaction and performance of the game is going and the result is independent of what the bookmakers does for the player, it's the even that matters. The only thing they can control is the odd and if it's not favorable to the players, they leave and move to a new platform.
