Nonetheless, for those who are trying to gamble for fun or trying to make money with it under the right management, you have to ensure that you have a viable plan and budget that will speak well of proper management towards it. Anything outside this is going to ruin the party for the person sooner or later.

If they just gamble for fun, they must have control over themselves so they will not gets more tempt from gambling and can not stops gambling. That happens to many people so they must remember to take care of themselves and must avoids the big lose and not use gambling for a hobby. Yes of course, because I think that's the more plausible reason why society has a negative stigma or viewpoint towards gambling activities which is all caused by gamblers who treat their gambling activities blindly which makes them experience many adverse effects. And honestly I just heard about the idea that gambling is included in the hobby group, and I believe that one of the reasons why this idea is rarely heard or rarely people say that gambling is a hobby is because this activity is not worth the reward, or in the sense that the risks are always far greater than the positive rewards.

Started as a hobby and ended with a gambling addiction. But I really think those who bet on sports may not build this kind of problem. Most cases are from casino and slot players.

Those hobbies is different than gambling because when we spends our money to buy stamps or baseball cards, we have the physical thing that we can save in the album. I would argue that gambling is a hobby, if you are doing it in your spare time and don't have it as your main focus in life. Maybe my approach is too simplistic, but I like to categorize my day in three buckets: work, family and hobbies. Work is where we are getting our money from and where we spent most of our time per day. For someone who spents most of his time gambling and generates a stable income from it, I would call it his job and not his hobby. To classify gambling as a hobby it doesn't really matter that we are betting with money, because most things in life involve money. When a hobby has provided income, then at that moment it is also without realizing that the hobby has turned into an income. Just like athletics or sportsmen, they basically just live their hobby by exercising. But,  when they have earned income from the sport, then when they compete then they might be disappointed or stressed when they get a lose result.
