Yeah I was watching mem pool website also, and listening in to that live broadcast on twitter. Didn’t go to any big parties or anything. Same with the last halving, it was right during Covid and you couldn’t go anywhere. And the one before I just looked at blockchain explorer and saw the reward reduction and that’s about it.

This halving is also the introduction of Runes which is clogging the network. If you look now you got at least 1000 sat / vbyte in fees. So over $100 for a transaction. A lot of people aren’t going to be happy.

Let's be honest here. Halving events primarily help the market turns bullish for a certain period which is what almost everyone looks forward to which is why it's hilarious seeing so many people lie through their teeth(HODL your stash etc).

What a way to ruin the halving event. The fees are seriously insane at the moment all thanks to this runes crap.

I am very happy to be associated with another historical event in the history of Bitcoin. Today is truly a day to enjoy and celebrate for those who are connected to this Bitcoin forum and have Bitcoin legalized in their country. 2024 Bitcoin halving is the fourth halving in Bitcoin history but it was my first experience for which I was much more excited than yesterday. Since the Bitcoin halving is already complete, are we very close to a bull run?

Yes we are close but we just can't say with certainty how close we are and how much time more we have to Hodl to the bull run, but just to keep holding is all there is to do. Just like the last halving, with this halving now in place it will only take time for the market to completely adjust to  the dynamics of the halving supply effect to trigger the bull run.

I am just like others glad to witness the 4th bitcoin halving as a hodler, historically it's a halving with a precedent of a new a ATH before it.

Yes, with the fourth halving occurring of course the bull run will be closer, indeed no one can predict with certainty when the BTC increase will begin after the BTC halving occurs. However, if you look at the history of previous halvings, such as the first halving, the increase started 48 days after the halving. Second halving, the increase started 250 days after the halving. Third halving, the increase started 150 days after the halving. and now the fourth halving, the bull run will start when we don't know for sure but what is clear is that the halving is the moment to buy as much bitcoin as possible because we are very close to the bull run, it is clear that we will likely enter a bullish trend quickly because it is reinforced by Dominant institutional ETFs.

I am sure, after the halving the BTC price will not touch the lowest price again. Because usually bitcoin after the halving always exceeds the highest price before the halving, and that is a new record. So don't waste this half moment before we miss the moment.

BTC-community should be congratulated on a new stage and the beginning of a new milestone in the history of bitcoin. Now the world will definitely not be the same, because most of the bitcoin is in the hands of whales and corporations, and it will be less possible to mine new BTC and will have to be bought at a higher cost.

this is the first time for me to be able to witness a halving moment like this. i am very proud of how the price of bitcoin from the first time i knew about it in 2022 was only 16k usd and today it has increased to 63k usd. this is a very good development and i hope that in the future bitcoin can further develop and create new aths.

This is what we are waiting for more than anything else and I hope that history will repeat itself, another crazy bull season will come. I have seen some people being pessimistic and claiming that the bull season will end soon because of bitcoin's recent corrections. But those who have been involved in the market for a long time will understand that everything is just the beginning, not the end. Those who give up now will definitely regret it because in the next few months the bull season will come. I expect this to be a super cycle as we have ETFs presence.

Finally, congratulations to every bitcoiner for witnessing the 4th halving. It's my third, but it almost feels like it was yesterday when I first came to know about Bitcoin, it doesn't feel like it has been so many years already, Bitcoin has come a long way since then and it has to go a long way still, and hopefully, I can be around to witness a lot more halving events in the future.

Many people are worried thinking that the market might dip more after the halving event, many are optimistic for a quick growth, but based on historical charts and figures, it will be a mixture of both for the next few months. We shouldn't be expecting any deep corrections or dips, but we should also not expect any steep pumps as well, it will take its time, probably, and we need to be patient as investors.

Those who sell early might miss out but what can be said, they might have been waiting for long enough and they can't do it anymore, but I would suggest that we at least give it a few months before we sell even if it goes beyond $73k which is the current all-time high.

Finally it did occured. Congrats to all Bitcoin Ogs and holders this will be another significant milestone for bitcoun ecosystem. I think this is my third bitcoin halving event and as Ive noticed everytime this happened a crazy bull run is the after effect not sure when but time will tell. I am overwhelmed with the last as it correlated with the altcoin explosion last time. If history will do the same again then expect some bullish movement from all major coins and any coins that worth something. Bitcoin halving has this effect on many community. Hope it not goes south eventually.

My second halving I almost had 3 but when it first happened when I was in Bitcoin, I had no idea what it was or when it was.

And I guess at the time going to 12 BTC wasn't such a big deal yet.

Even though I have only gone through 2 halving cycles, the 4th halving will be the beginning for me and consider this point 0.
because in the previous halving I was not very focused and consistent in investing in bitcoin. Good luck in the next halving.

Finally we witnessed the desired 4th bitcoin halving and congratulations to everyone on this bitcoin halving event. Everyone was excited about the fourth bitcoin halving this year compared to the previous three bitcoin halvings. Before the halving, Bitcoin reached an all-time high that had not been seen before any previous halving event. Since the Bitcoin halving has already been completed I am optimistic that Bitcoin will continue to grow slowly in the near future until it crosses $100k very soon. I'm trying to hold on to mine, so I'd say everyone hold on to their invested bitcoins very carefully, surely it could swell in the coming bull season.

It's another milestone that surely going to be seen soon but as we celebrate and welcome this 4th halving, here comes some unwelcoming fees update

I wasn't expecting anything better than this ... Atleast 20% of the total number of miners we have (from my estimate) would have to quit due to the halving... ^{[how do you keep doing a business that isn't profitable anymore]?}...That being said, I guess all they gotta do is increasing the fees for that reason - also for how congested the mempool currently is.
I also tend to understand things way differently-- The volatility in Bitcoin is the whole essence of the digital coin for a fact...^{[saying this for clarity to someone's reply I can't really locate right now]}

Edit: This is my first time of experiencing the halving and, it Happens to be the most prolific amongst all odds, Happy Bitcoin halving !!!

Happy halving! Once again, Satoshi's hand reaches out from the past and chops another bit off of the subsidy.

IIRC, in last halvings there was lull in the price for some time after the halving before the effect of the reduced supply really started to be felt. I wonder if that'll happen this time.

This is my first halving but from the information I got from past halving this current one is slightly changing the Bitcoin circle. I assume that we have never had a time where Bitcoin beats its ATH before the halving. There might be no delay before the effect will begin to reflect in the price. So I will not be surprised if the impact of the halving is felt immediately till the end of the bull run. Happy Halving to all Bitcoin believers. If I were the president of my country, today would have been a public holiday  .
