What the Heck Do Gamblers Mean By this Phrase

This is my first time hearing such a phrase - I did a quick search online to see if perhaps there are others who might have posted the same phrases but nothing came up.

I guess only a few gamblers use this phrase if not it would have been among lists of gambling slang that are present online. I'd would have to put this thread on my watch list so that I'd be able to follow and see if anyone knows the meaning of the phrase.

Relatively,it could also be that the phrase happens to be known to gamblers with unique personal experiences because it quite seems strange.The phrase could results from personal gambling challenge,experience and strategies.Perhaps it could not mean the same thing to various gamblers.

I agree that if there are some other known phrases that aren't used in the forum, maybe those that know more can share and for this meaning of what OP asked for the phrase, it's been answered in the first page by yahoo.

Basically it means that the cards are running good for you.  Like in poker when the cards are flowing, means you have been winning alot playing any 2 cards.

A superstition belief about how the flow of the cards can affect their winnings and honestly, I’ve heard this a lot too and I don’t think there’s a dip meaning about this, probably they are just trying to convince themselves about the possible next card that they can get since it can be a flow of good cards that can be good for them.

Maybe it's about something more global than the next cards in the deck? To me it seems similar to the expression "distance will make up for it" that players say when they play correctly but end up on a downstrick (which happens inevitably even when you play correctly). This has even become a meme because in addition to the pros who really play correctly and can count on being in the black over the long term, there are also fishs who think that “distance will compensate everything ”.

Honestly it's just the luck of the cards and how they are coming put.  A lot of people who play blackjack think there is a "flow" in the complete deck.  In reality every flip of the card is not dictated by the previous.  It's more superstition than anything else.  I get it when you are winning the flow is good when losing the flow is bad.  I'm sure there are other games but hear it a lot in preference to blackjack mostly.

Do you often hear the phrase you mentioned op? I don't seem to hear or read anything like that being said in physical casinos in real life, or if that is true, it may be a saying or an old belief that may or may not be lucky for other old gamblers.

Or from another angle, it's also possible that when you feel like you're going to win and your feelings are light without a doubt, you just continue what you're doing, gambling in the casino. And when you feel in doubt, stop gambling.

Some things or words would have been used in a particular context long time ago and people may from there picked it up and continue with the use, card flow could have been the idea that comes from playing cards or other relevant games and the word being used to signifies the intention of the player involved as on how the game is going or being played, from there on, people may still took that up and uses the same as well because they are used to it already and before you know it, it turned a viral thing, this may be the simply explanation behind what transpired here.

Honestly it's just the luck of the cards and how they are coming put.  A lot of people who play blackjack think there is a "flow" in the complete deck.  In reality every flip of the card is not dictated by the previous.  It's more superstition than anything else.  I get it when you are winning the flow is good when losing the flow is bad.  I'm sure there are other games but hear it a lot in preference to blackjack mostly.

One thing I am certain with this, if you play and ride with the flow of the cards, you will definitely end up winning the game.  But not all players are actually able to go with the flow of the cards. Sometimes you just have to play based on what you think will gain more chances of winning, even if it means you aren't playing already based on the flow of the cards. And it definitely works for others.

I do not play blackjack but in my opinion, I think it's about the cards being drawn or how the cards taken from the deck. Try thinking about the phrase which is the flow of the cards so I was thinking it is all about how the cards are shown or displayed card after card. I have read some blackjack related threads but I never heard about that phrase and most of the time that I have heard or even read is card counting. All I can say is it is still based on luck on "how the card flows".

I have not heard this type of word used by Gamblers paharps is limited to some gambling. like Maybe it's used by black jack pertucipants as I have seen most user saying it here. It may just be a popular slogan they only use in BJ if not it would have been noticed in other gambling sites.

It is more on the results of the game in my opinion. Because let is admit the fact that this game is based on luck so no matter what technique you will deploy of, it will still be the luck that will determine your fate.

Can you give the context for this phrase because it varies on the game it was use. In blackjack, We use flow of card as the predetermined result if there’s no changes on the seat playing on the table.

For example, You are destined to lose x10 if there will be no other player joined since the cards is arranged the way it is. So we usually destroy the flow of card when we are experiencing losing streak by adding 1 seat or more so that the card distribution will change.

OMG! Is this for real like 100% guaranteed? It's my first time hearing this on blackjack where there could be some predetermined result.
What can you advise to avoid this while playing blackjack? I am playing sometimes blackjack but most of the time I keep losing.

It's the issue with the "locks", it seems that it is a matter of laziness to somes OP, although there is always a grey area with that, some threads if others not, anyway this thread was perfect to close the topic,  and not have users like Harapan, scholars on the subject...

I do not agree with yahoo, on slang in poker they call it runner hot, but undoubtedly the phrase fits in its use... in the long run as the following post says that also raised "dust," but in the honesty of its response the objective of the BJ is achieved...

Or it just mean just go with the flow, and so if you are a card reader, then just continue what you are doing, if you think that you are not going to win base on the cards that has been dealt, then don't bet high. But if you think that the flow is going to come, then go and bet high so that you will win big. However, casinos will always be in the look out for this kind of betting. And if they suspect you that you are a card counter, then you know that sooner or later, they are going to approach you and ask you to leave the casinos. You are lucky if they will let you cash out your winnings.

In my opinion it might be like an additional card or card distributed by the dealer to each gambler, in this game the playing strategy is very difficult to understand even I myself always feel confused to be able to play well and really beat the dealer with the value of the cards I have.
Several times playing blackjack and it is really very difficult to beat the dealer and this game is much more difficult than poker, I have never heard of card flow and what is meant by expressions like this.
Basically it will be difficult to understand the expression of words or can be slogan like you said, what is clear as gambler honestly I don't really care about some slogans or certain expressions because the most important thing is to be able to play and know how to play well to increase the chances of winning.

It only really makes sense in relation to blackjack and when someone is counting cards. In other situations you should assume that a shuffle will make the cards as random as possible. For blackjack it is beneficial to know when there are many more "face" cards in the deck because it can increase or decrease the probability that you make a blackjack (hitting a hand of 21 which has higher odds of beating the dealer). It also helps to know how many decks of cards are included to be able to make accurate predictions, otherwise you might end up miscalculating the odds.

I rarely play blackjack; does "Flow with the cards" mean what cards come out that you should choose? So that's not a guess, right? But even so, I don't seem to be reading anything like the superstition of a gambler.

I just don't know if there are other gamblers who do and also follow such beliefs; are there any of us here in this forum of the crypto space? It doesn't seem like there is anything, and if there is, it seems to be just a little bit.

For those who are not often playing card or blackjack should confuse with the meaning. That is because we don't know there are a slang word that gamblers use when they playing gambling and only those who often gambling using that games will know about that.

As an ordinary people, I think we don't have to confuse hearing this phrase but we can ask about that phrase to someone who familiar with blackjack and really know what is the meaning. i also don't know what is the meaning considering I don't know much about blackjack but this could a card distribution in blackjack.

Maybe if you want to know more, you can learn blackjack from someone you know.

I guess it's a superstitions of being a lucky with cards, or as someone said the card counting. As you will know it's flow in every shuffle of cards. Can't find enough answer about it when searching online except on reddit threads which are in opinionated answers too. 

Next time when you heard someone talking about it, don't be shy to ask and tell us his/her answers too 

And, after several more posts, it doesn't seem we cleared the doubt between superstition or card counting.

If you asked me -and I'm not a native English speaker so I'm not sure about the value of what I'm going to say, intuition told me that the flow of the cards has more to do with the magical thinking rather than with statistics, like when people believe in hidden forces behind tarot card spreads, or players being on a roll (maybe not superstition, but bias).

Yes, it's been used in blackjack and things like this will always have different meanings, to be honest, and in some cases, the true meaning would have faded away since the older generation might have not sought answers but believed it's a line of slogan related to the blackjack game without much relevance.

Notwithstanding, it's a myth/belief that links people's minds with the card believing that such could enforce a connection that could lead to them being lucky.
