Should the top altcoins now be ok that we are in bull run?

I am currently 100% in altcoins and been wondering this morning that now the bull run is here, does that mean most altcoins in the top 200 or so should be safe at least now till the next bear market?

I have been in all of my altcoins for at least 6 months and not had any worrying news with any of them yet and the only altcoin that comes to mind that burned since I started Crypto 2 years ago is Luna and luckily I have never been involved in that one.

When i first started crypto over 2 years ago I was constantly told altcoins are risky and you should only invest in Bitcoin & Ethereum but i have had no problems at all.

Are altcoins safe now that the bull run is here and real bullish part of the bull run only months away or can altcoins go to zero at any moment even during bull run?

Projects in the top 200 will not guarantee you money. Many projects in the top 200 have become dead projects but because the market capitalization is still large they are also in the top 200. Even LUNA, which you say is a destroyed altcoin, is also ranked 153 on CMC. Link: https://coinmarketcap.com/id/currencies/terra-luna-v2/. I don't know if it's the Luna I know or the newest version of Luna but it's still a project related to Terra and Do Kwon.

Of course it depends on the actual performance of the coin even if they are in the top 200 now there’s really no guarantee that they will be in constant rise.

The bull run just means that there is a huge chance that you might get great returns from different altcoins. I would say though that those in the top 5 would most likely be okay for at least until this year since it would take big news/change for a coin to suddenly have a price of thousands down to zero.

It all depends on the kind of altcoin you are holding because if you have some reputable coin with you then the chances of going back to zero is very slim and you can't lose your coin just like that. Losing your coin or going back to zero are mostly on newly birth coin which we do classify as shitcoin and off course shitcoin has every possibility to moved down to zero when you are holding for so much long without you selling or taking profits. Must of those shitcoin can't survive during bear market or when their is any little market down time you would see them decreasing seriously without control. Again mind you, bull run isn't yet started so hopefully from ending of year to beginning of next but for now what we would only see is market will be moving sideways till it finally chooses the bull run section.

It's safer when someone's portfolio has a bigger portion of BTC.

If you're up with your portfolio then that's good if you've started during the bear market, you've got more time to accumulate up to this moment and you just have to wait for the results.

That's because the reality, not all altcoins are safe. Some are safe but most of them are risky.

If you're describing safety about being profitable, yes many of them are going to be. But don't you remove that thought that they can be not safe during this cycle.

And going to zero, it's unlikely but having few to zero volume is possible.

Altcoins within the top 200 ranking is too far, I think you can trim it down to 100 or 50, to be near the top rankings that can have the most probability to bull in the alt season. We're not quite into Bitcoin bull run yet, seeing as it's price is still in dip, until it starts to surge, that's when the bull season will actually start, and it'll precede altcoins season, so we'll have to wait for months before that happens. So you can continue to buy your favorite altcoins before the alt season, also remember invest in Bitcoin, you can not go wrong doing it.

Yes, 90% of my altcoins are in the top 100 so feel they are pretty safe.

I am currently +85% overall so not too bad so far considering we are nowhere near the peak of the bull run yet.

Bull run has been already initiated before halving and you have seen that the price hit the value of 73k$ before a halving and it has not gone to such a down value till now therefore we can say that we are in bull season as we have experienced high worth for a longer period.

Altcoins are safe but not all altcoins that range between  the top 200 will give you sure profit and many of them can be scammed so don't trust every altcoins before making an investigation. Now the price is in accordance with the desire of most of the people to buy it so you can easily buy it but try to do it immediately before the price hits a huge value again and you remain empty handed due to your wait for accuracy.

It's not even safe. As you can see that bitcoin dumped from new ATH and altcoin did it too. I would not be surprised to see your porfolios will be dumped a lot. It doesn't even matter whether it was top 200 or even less. Dump is dump my friend. There's nothing safe from this kind of situation when bitcoin dumped to the bottom.

That's true but if bitcoin is always dumping and are you feeling fine with it? Think about that. Remember "sell in may then go away", but the better to sold it last months. That sucks i was only selling 56% of my portfolios when it reached the highest price for this year.

Even bitcoin and ethereums can be dumped too. There's no different between altcoins and bitcoin. Im holding a lot of ethereum and it's dumping even worst than my alts.

its safer to invest when the bear market is almost over. gauging when the bear is almost over is where you need to find out. but normally people will talk about it, especially in this forum that you can ask as well.

investing while the bull run had already started means you are buying while the prices have already begun flying. investors risk thier funds when the market retraces down, it turns into a loss when they also sell.

Possibly, you're hodling strong fundamental altcoins and that explains why you haven't run into regrets of loss. For real, altcoin investment is risker than Bitcoin investment as most of the projects are only repeating what others before them have said or done. Most of them just want to scam and rugpull. You better be careful and don't let loose your guard thinking you can't lose all with altcoin.

If you look at the current trend especially this week it's bit bearish but Altcoins can give more profits than the Bitcoin during the bullrun and they can be classified into different segment like new altcoins with potential as they can provide massive profit if it's potential is identified and is listed in top exchange, established coins which can hardly provide any profits like XRP and then there are coins which couldn't get the deserving pump in previous bull run or had fairly performed well and have potential to do it again like SOL.

Just don't panic sell by looking at the current market which is temporary.

No this is not a safe way especially in altcoins we never know when the bearish will end and only speculate on this even though we will know a little, for me this is not the right way unless in bearish times you risk a lot of money in bitcoin then it is a little safer than altcoins which are full of risks even though it is a leaderboard 100 and above.

Yes during the bullrun the price is definitely rising but you know when to enter the price to invest in some coins at least this is still there is hope for profit with a short period of time during the bullrun, for me this is not a real bullrun especially since the price is still correcting there is still a chance to choose altcoins that have strong fundamentals.

The markets are not all on the same path and with the past events that have taken place during bull run, altcoins do play major role in that notion, so they won’t be left out. Many altcoins are expected to follow the movement of bitcoin and with that criteria, all will be good with such altcoins during bull run.

These are moments that one have to be very sceptical in their investments. A lot of changes will happen to the market since halving already took place. Most altcoins will not be able to withstand the pressure on the markets and will eventually exit the market when you least expect them. Filter those that have such threats and leave those that are worthy to be main projects through the bull run.

People has to be reminded that cryptocurrencies are volatile in nature especially altcoins. A temporary dip does not mean that the market is crashing and that you need to take out your coins as fast as possible. Quite the contrary, you can actually take the dip as an opportunity to acquire more of that coins.

Of course you have to identify the difference between a temporary dip or if it’s actually losing value. Although most of the time it’s just all temporary.

People said that Litecoin was a safe investment because it is considered the bitcoin 2.0 "silver" but it lost its #2 spot to ETH and slowly getting replaced by newer and faster altcoins which has more to utility and better community interactions with its blockchain.

It becomes very difficult to understand the situation for the ups and downs of the crypto market but to understand the right situation it will be the right decision to wait for the long term investment to benefit from the bull run. I don't think so all the altcoins are safe for investment especially in these type of market condition where BTC dips even after halving. Investment should always be dispersed , you should never invest only into a single category of coins.

If possible shift your investment to BTC because most of the altcoins are dependent on BTC and if BTc pumps altcoins will automatically pump and if it drops altcoins will drop also. So it's better to invest in BTC.

Where'd you get the idea that the bull run was here? Afaik aren't most markets down at least this month or two? Definitely a good time to invest now since buying low is better than buying high but it doesn't mean that it's the absolute low, it can still go lower really. Luna was an issue because of the exchange, not because of the season or because of the coin itself so I don't think comparing it to others would make much sense.

Still considering you bought 6 months ago, then yea you're good. At least for now. God knows what's gonna happen in the next few more months. Personally I'm waiting till the end of the year or so before deciding.
