Events in the crypto world can be both exciting and controversial. While some argue they're a great opportunity to engage with the community and potentially win big prizes, others question their legitimacy and effectiveness. It's important to weigh the pros and cons before deciding to participate in any event.

That being said, there have been notable success stories of individuals who have participated in crypto events, particularly those organized by exchanges. From winning substantial amounts of crypto to landing rare NFTs, the potential rewards can be significant.

Speaking of events, noticed a cex organizing an initiative called 'Spin the Wheel' where participants have the chance to win a share of a $150,000 pool. It's a fun and easy way to potentially earn some crypto rewards. Just some simple tasks required, a simple spin & hope to God you're in luck. Anyone tried this kinda exercise? Did you win anything?

I think it’s just supposed to be fun and not really taken seriously but if you are seriously considering these events as an actual source of income then that is where it gets wrong.

Lol I have never been lucky to be honest with these kind of things but I think they are fun and as long as it does not harm you in any way then I think it’s perfectly fine to keep participating

The trick is to attract users from different services, they also understand that being able to collect service fees from users is always an area that brings in a lot of money at the stage of price increases.

But from the perspective of participants, there are many scams that are also created, like some people can take advantage of the amount of data to perform KYC and receive preferential payments in events. I know some people in the space where they own hundreds of bybit CEX accounts and participate in events where the chances of getting rewards are almost as great. But that is only a small part of the period when the market increased prices with many different marketing activities that we know about.

You said no trading necessary but what are the other requirements to participate in these events? Do you need to sign up and pass their KYC verification first? If that's the case then I don't think it's worth giving up information for something that you may not even win. It's just bothersome.

I do not care about giveaways or rewards run by crypto platforms/exchanges, but people who are interested in such things should be careful about giveaway scams in fake applications/platforms. Never deposit money to claim any winnings as it is a scam, do not fall for crypto doubling schemes, do not also complete KYC just for the purpose of participating in a reward/giveaway program.

An exchange trying to promote gambling? What exchange is that? I've won of course some of it in the past but not with exchanges but through casinos.
Most of the giveaways are legit and they're going to give you some good experience about it. Like the airdrops, they're giving significant amount of it but basically, they're also money out of thin air and the devs distributing it for their community to stay and be excited of what's more to come and also, that's part of the marketing.

Is CEX becoming a gambling platform too? Spin the wheel with $150,000 in total rewards and how many will spin it? So I doubt we could get a big chunk out of this game even though they are free. Some will just consider this a waste of time and they could use that effort for another type of bounty that could get them a chance to win larger amounts in freebies.
Well, it's a good way to promote something because there will still be bounty hunters who would want this little amount until they reach a certain balance where they can withdraw it.
Anyway, I have not tried it yet, it could've been better if you shared the link or what CEX website did this because there might be curious people who would want to check it out.

I have not come across such a promotion on a crypto exchange and this might be the first time I am reading about it. I have seen trading competitions and I have participated in a few, wherein I did get some amount from the kitty. The main emphasis of exchanges is to lure their users to trade more and through referral contests onboard more customers and in both scenarios, rewards are distributed. What you are saying is something I have experienced in gambling platforms but they do come with a certain amount of terms and conditions which are not that easy to follow.

I have had my fare share of winnings though on events on exchanges. But I think it has to do with luck. I'll suggest being specific next time and probably share a link of the event you're talking about, people might be curious.. Searched google and I got this. Is this the one??

Well I don't know of an exchange running a spin the wheel kind of promotion. What I know is about the casino on that which in any case is meant to lure customers to themselves. That is also the situation with the exchange from what I see in your post but you have to elaborate more on what the spin the wheel means and how it is done in exchange. No trade as you said, so it is just hodling and get to compete or what exactly?

The OP should've provided a Link to the exchange that's providing the giveaway spine, it would've helped some members who'll be interested and need the information. Knowing the requirements for being eligible to perticipate is important, like whether they'll have to pass a KYC verification is inclusive. If it's coming from a reputable exchange, then it should be legit, although I'm sure that the aim will be to get more people to patronize their exchange services.

events from exchange usually rewards peanuts, you don't get your hopes too high from these rewards but its just for entertainment for their customers, if its big event with big prize usually its also tough to win such as trading competition where the participants gonna be large as well as the capital gonna be big enough for average shrimps like me to not be able to win.
after all these companies aren't charity, their allocated money is exactly just for boosting their brand so that its known by other people and also to retain loyal customers.

i mean at the end of the day its always whether you have money or not to follow these crypto give aways, from my understanding the ones that give real reward are the ones that require you to go as far as spending your money or in other words burning your money to be judged as a contributor and later on being rewarded, same thing with the like of binance launchpool event where it gives free altcoins, you got money to stake you gonna get reward, you have little money to stake, more likely you just gonna waste your time.

It's a fun and easy way to potentially earn some crypto rewards. No trading required, just a simple spin & hope to God you're in luck. Anyone tried this kinda exercise? Did you win anything?
You said no trading necessary but what are the other requirements to participate in these events? Do you need to sign up and pass their KYC verification first? If that's the case then I don't think it's worth giving up information for something that you may not even win. It's just bothersome.

Sorry, I didn't include the link because I thought it might not be allowed here. But here it is: https://www.bitget.com/events/activities/2b5b76bca2f55270946b918b0d1c432c?color=cupBlack&languageType=0 it’s from a reputable exchange Bitget

Events in the crypto world can be both exciting and controversial. While some argue they're a great opportunity to engage with the community and potentially win big prizes, others question their legitimacy and effectiveness. It's important to weigh the pros and cons before deciding to participate in any event.

Yeah, that's what I figured too. I thought it might just be for fun and to see what happens. So, I was curious about everyone's thoughts. But based on the comments here, it seems like not many have tried it. I might give it a shot and let you all know how it turns out.

From what I gathered about the event, you basically support a soccer team and spin the wheel to earn crypto points. To qualify, you need to deposit a net amount of 250 USDT from your bank account, and it's only open to users from certain countries like the UK, Canada, Australia, and France. You also have to complete kyc to receive your rewards, which are quick to arrive and sell.
