Algo: SCRYPT

So you taken the name of the most well known Bitcoin wallet and made a scrypt altcoin with that name? Wow.
You may call it innovative thinking. I call it dangerously close to scam.

How exactly would one scam a mining coin? The term 'scam' gets tossed around too casually these days when there's little else to say. Did we call Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold scams when they launched? Let's focus on constructive dialogue and innovation instead of baseless accusations.

No. At least BCH is sha256 whereas BCG is equihash and yes I consider both to be scammy in that their names were chosen to confuse newbies and ride on the coattails of BTC. They are still considered to be crap coins by most folks.

Throw in that "Bitcoin Core" is generally recognized as being the software used for Bitcoin and is NOT a coin, leads to the conclusion that you intentionally named your crapcoin to deliberately confuse newbies.

Lastly, this area where you posted (twice) is strictly for Bitcoin - ya know - sha256. Have requested mod to move this to the correct altcoin area.

It's not getting tossed around too casually. The number of scams in crypto space is way too alarming. If you have no ill intentions, I dare you to use a different name for your coin. You very well know what the name Bitcoin core stands for.

How different are you from scammers who wake up and create coins like FBI coin, or SEC token?  Grin

Did we call Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold scams when they launched?
Who says they are not scams?  Roll Eyes

Just to pile on...

Bitcoin Cash & Bitcoin Gold were forks of the Bitcoin blockchain by people who wanted Bitcoin to go in a different direction and had specific plans so they have some legitimacy.
There is, however, a long history of coins adding "light" "dark" "cash" etc to well known crypto brand names. Most have disapppeared into the dust because they had nothing new
to offer and were just trying to capitalize on the brand.

If this new coin had an original name it would be just another shitcoin, which some consider scammy anyway. Using the name Bitcoin was obviously intended to deceive,
making this unquestionably a scam.

It doesn't belong in altcoin either. Wink

The Reason I call Bitcoin cash a scam is that at one point they even went extreme and started claiming that Bitcoin Cash is the Original Bitcoin while the Bitcoin we know today was Bitcoin Core  (it's ironic we are discussing this in another "Bitcoin Core coin" thread  Grin)

Here is one of the many instances they did that using their news site news.bitcoin.com - https://news.bitcoin.com/how-is-bitcoin-cash-different-from-bitcoin-core/

This got so newbies confused into buying Bitcoin Cash, thinking it was the real Bitcoin. I think o even saw some threads about that confusion.

It's not hard to confuse/misinform newbies. Bitcoin Cash made that claim because Bitcoin decided to implement segwit (or some other BIP) and some rebels didn't
like it and forked Bitcoin Cash. In that sense they are the "Original Coke" while Bitcoin changed and became the "New Coke". So they are technically correct.

At the time of the fork everyone who owned Bitcoin got an equal amount of Bitcoin Cash so no one got scammed. Some people still own Bitcoin Cash and don't know it.
I sold all mine right after the fork.
