Wallets supporting Silent Payments

Still no news on a more mainstream wallet like Electrum supporting it?

No news so far, but I dare to say that Sparrow is as good as Electrum, if not better in some areas.

Based on this list, most Silent Payment wallets don't offer "privacy-preserving scanning".
It makes me wonder how much bandwidth it uses per week if the wallet supports the privacy-preserving scanning.

Cake wallet, BlindBit wallet and few others already support privacy privacy-preserving scanning, and others will implement it in future.

I'm not sure whether Cake can handle it correctly. There have been some complaints relevant tot Silent Payments transactions within its community.

As a wallet feature, maybe not within the next few versions, but we'll see.
You can follow these two issues for updates:

• supporting silent payments (bip352)

But someone already posted a PR containing a plugin that'll enable silent payment.
However, since it's a plugin, it's redirected to their plugins repo instead but I haven't seen a PR related to it there yet.

I would be perfectly fine if they added support in Electrum wallet for Silent Payments with plugins.
Cake wallet apparently used modified electrum protocol for their SP implementation, so it is possible to improve if they think it's not done correctly.

JAN3, the company behind Aqua Wallet, offers several bounties for Silent Payments implementation on the Liquid Network. Aqua Wallet and Jade hardware wallets will in the near future maybe support Silent Payments if and when it's built properly for their software and hardware. The total value of the SP bounties is 0.06 BTC.

I vaguely remember it when I posted that, so I quickly searched the pull request list to look for that closed PR,

Apparently, it's indeed being implemented as a plugin by @securitybrahh,
However it's still in draft state and waiting for an update to secp256k1 library before it can move forward to actual implementation.
We might have to wait for a long while for it.
