Before I create a topic recommending converting our Indian specific board to an Indian subcontinent board. I would like to ask from the active members. Do you think it will work for everyone here and those who are active on Bangladesh and Pakistan board?

Why I came with this Idea?

1. As we Indians are not getting sufficient amout of active user we could indulge our neighbours in discussion.
2. We don't have any merit source but our neighbours have more than once to help us rank up.
3. They need a dedicated board and we need engagement why not club all of them and create a unique and engaging atmosphere here.
4. The language of discussion on the main board has to be in English whereas they could discuss about anything in a dedicated board which will be Bangla and Urdu.

Do you think such a recommendation will be accepted by Theymos. I think it will and it will help us to get more activities here.

Nope! I wouldn't agree to merge Pakistan, India and Bangladesh into a single board. Every country has its own legal structure and taxation system. The rules for cryptos are also different for different countries. So the discussions for Indian board needs to be separated.

Also, Indian legal enforcement system is already very conscious about crypto currency. If the discussions and members are merged, we will come under more close scrutiny which surely I wouldn't want!

The activities here are need-based. Whenever we need advise or more viewpoints, we come here so that we can discuss with other members. Let's keep it that way!

The proposal is quite tempting to be honest but I kind of agree with @avikz here, different countries and different regulations.

If I am not wrong Crypto is completely banned in Bangladesh and might be the same way the Pakistan is going to be considering their Islamic law but pardon me if I got wrong. While India is taking the different approach like what other developed nations did, trying to regulate and take control over the market and generate fortune in the name of taxes from the fellow citizens.

Regarding the activity, Indian bitcointalk members are not giving attention to Indian board for whatever reason and lack of merit circulation can be one of the reason too.

@TheUltraElite, @Bureau, @pawanjain please check this thread and please try to give your input on my suggestion. It really matters as we are now without any merit source and traffic to the local board has declined  drastically.

Bangladesh has its own thread and merit distribution is good in that thread itself, but full of spammers.

Pakistan thread has its sources and either of these dont have their own subsections.

So it can be a boon for both of them and us. But I believe politically, we are in disagreement, which I also understand but as for the time being, this can be a solution for the problem at hand.

But in the long term, if this section picks up any momentum, they will need to be separated once again.

Have you talked to any of the neighboring country "de-facto" forum leaders?

The suggestion is great and it will resolve the existing crisis. In the long term it will become complicated and more issues will emerge as politically, administratively, socially these two countries and our own are different.

I don't think there will be peace in the local board if such an arrangement in a few months time. Therefore it is better for someone from the existing core members to apply for a merit source. It will take time to approve but once approved it will solve a lot of current problems that we are facing.

I don't think emerging all sub boards will actually solve the issue of having traffic here in our local board. What we need Is active members, we have lots of members here in this forum but most of them refuse to visit the local board while doing other activities in the forum. I don't know too well but, competition and other fun activities could lighten up the activeness of our members.

I already know the problem, what I need is a solution and that is why I suggested an idea. I do know that merging other neighboring boards will create an issue but I have a solution for that and I still think that it will serve our interest and the others. I am still open to suggestions if anyone has to solve the current crisis.

I personally feel that combining the neighbouring boards will create a problem for them as well as for us.
It will only become more complicated in the future. So instead of the short term relief, we should pay more attention to the long term pain and avoid it while we can.
The ongoing issue of a lack of merit source and low engagement in the Indian board is something we all have been facing since a long time now.
One of us should try to become a merit source and that is what I think, can lead the Indian board to a better position.

This might prove to be a win-win situation for all but if we think if it's sustainable then no I don't think this would work on long term but for time being for mutual benefits and traffic we can have this approach and see how things work but again the policies on crypto may varies between these three nations and not be same which may create some sort of confusion when it comes to policy and taxation related discussion.

Closing this topic as I think we do not require anything now as @TheUltraElite applied for merit source. I never thought that he would do it but he did and he resolved one of our biggest problems. I would anytime love to see you guys criticizing me for my wrong approach and I would say your replies might have instigated someone to apply for the merit source .
