To be honest the Indian board needs merit regulation to keep the board active.

What regulations do you mean?
You and anyone else can distribute merit on local boards, especially on posts that you think are quality and constructive. There are no special regulations about this, except that you cannot send merit to your own alt. The rest is only limited, namely 50 merit for the same user in 30 days.

Let's talk some reality, hypothetically if someone post only in their local board and their local board has no merit sources who are the only one who potentially generate merits every 30 days and all others has to earn 2 merits to provide 1.

In case no active merit source is there and the remaining sMerits from the active members keep decline and at one point it will reach close to zero and in that scenario no matter how good their posts are there is no chance to recieve merits so there's no rank up and whatsoever. That's what happening in Indian local board and we can look at how other boards emerged when they started to have good merit circulation hope that might replicate on Indian board as well.

If there is any merit source having difficulty with exhausting their source merits then you could visit Indian Board, where you can find decent good quality discussions to spend some if you want.

I also support what my fellow local mate has requested on this thread for a global/local merit source. If anyone is unable to exhaust their merits, please visit our local board we desperately need some merits. We do not have any merit source for a few months now and we are desperately looking for this application to get approved as of now nothing has happened but our local board is suffering which we are trying our level best to get activated again.

Thanks for the support from an Indian who has been active on the local Indian board and in the forum. I would like to know what you meant by writing the highlighted part here. Frankly, it is a bit confusing for me as the top 10 posts on my local board are created either by me or Bitcoin Smith. I may be wrong here in understanding or comprehending what you meant but if it is related to the top 10 posts of OP then he can quote them in his application. Applying for a merit source does not mean he is not eligible to give merit to global boards which is where he posted his activities on multiple boards in his application.

Bumping this thread after a while with Nov stats.



You guys can see that the merit circulation is completely dried up in our local board even with that the activity remains somewhat consistent so I hope there would be some good news before it's too late.

I see that but I am always optimistic about all these applications. We are all trying to support our local communities and power to bitcoin comes from the ground level of acceptance of its use and therefore awareness at the community level is of utmost importance.

I have been trying to keep the Indian section active along with a handful of other dedicated members of this forum who belong to our motherland and we shall not stop till the day the Indians coming to this forum feel welcome in the local section.

I would also encourage any remaining old timers from our country to come in and keep the section active too.

I also support for the motion to increase the number of the merits sources, this will help the qualifying post to get merited as accordingly.

I can remember how we have been having a drop in the numbers of the merits sources as well as some making complaints over their monthly allocations of merits.

India is big country with population of 1.5 billion. This huge population has people with great potential in Bitcoin. People from India are working in different countries and CEO's of top tech companies like Google and Microsoft are from India. It's best in interest of this forum that we have participation from India also.

3 Merits shared : Decreased from 1079 to 464.

Bumping with 2024 stats of Indian local board.

I am not sure when or if there will be a consideration of this merit source application but if it's approved this will surely help the Indian community to increase the activity like many other boards. At the moment we are struggling to encourage the new members participation in discussions and users recommended using merit source giveaway/reporting threads but I don't think that is the way of addressing the problem, it's just a bandaid but having the dedicate merit source seems to be the solution to resolve the crisis.

10x is a very big ask and I doubt that much activity will be there no matter how many merit sources we have.

As I said previously, approving this merit source application has nothing to do with the activity because there hasn't been any new merit sources were added for almost a year.

Let me just say that today I woke up to the best PM I can ever receive on this forum.

Henceforth I will just say that all my Indian fellow members can rejoice and start posting with new vigor once again and I welcome any more Indian members to join us in and make the section welcoming and less toxic than it was long time back.
