I’ve been a bit disappointed by my friends this cycle. After nearly a decade of pestering them to get into Bitcoin, I had a group of friends dive in during the 2021 bubble. We had lots of fun shitcoining and the like… Unfortunately they didn’t stick around. I nagged them to buy the bottom, reminded them the entire ride up from $16K about the four year cycle and what was coming… They still haven’t got back in. I guess maybe at $100K they’ll start pitching the next Safemoon to me.

Not meaning to pick or anything but, weren't you doubtful, or at least slightly apprehensive of where Bitcoin was going just prior or during the last proper ATH run (not this year's)?

Seem to recall that, and no, nothing wrong with that, I have my creeping doubts every year regardless of the markets -- just maybe I'm recalling that maybe every cycle asks us to sit up and reassess. You, especially, having rode more rodeos Wink

how do we expect to achieve the widely adoption of Bitcoin users if we keep acting ghost of it?
I'd prefer to be private but in that kind of situation that someone really asks you and you're with the circle of friends, that's okay to say but see how the interest of their changes and focuses on you because everyone wants to hear about money. All they wanna talk is about money but if it's about the actual investing, they're the ones that will ghost you. And whether you explain and introduce them to Bitcoin or not, as long as you're using it, you're part of the adoption and making it grow everytime you use it.

Well, I do not also expect us to comfortably go out there and get exposed out of ignorance because it can as well be risky.
So, that means you're contradicting about your contribution to grow bitcoin but at the same time, you're scared of the risk. Bitcoin's adoption is growing naturally whether you'd expose yourself or not to your friends and relatives that you are an investor.

Just don't forget a disclaimer that this type of investment is a very risky one and a volatile one. If you introduce this market to anyone, you should tell them the truth about this market as they may have high expectations about this investment. If you will clearly tell them about the repercussions on what may happen to their funds, and you have no control on this market, you won't be blamed. Because the movement here doesn't rely from anyone and no one knows, even those so-called experts.
With the disclaimer explained that investment is risky but they sometimes do not pay attention to this, they always think about profits and even the risk is put aside even though they have been told.

There are many friends asking, what is bitcoin and how to invest, then say again whether other coins are better than bitcoin while bitcoin prices are already high,. and many other questions are actually the most annoying when talking about investing to people who have never done it.

Then I myself don't want to be blamed, so maybe it can mock if the price goes down, even keep telling you this is why the coin is going down and I keep losing, keep babbling like asking for help so that it goes up again. This is what I avoid people.

I think most of us have such friends or colleagues or even relatives because I faced similar experience with my parents and relatives when tried convincing them they didn't get convinced and when they invested the market went through bearish pattern and they cashout out with huge loss in the hurry and now I am being blamed for it. I have stopped convincing or even explaining about it to anyone unless they are interested.

It seems like you have to accept the fact that they will not return to bitcoin, the same thing as my friend, he once sold his bitcoin at a loss in 2020 where he bought the bitcoin during the bull run in 2018, he was really afraid at that time, even though I've said to be patient, now maybe he's embarrassed by me because I heard he went back to buying bitcoin a few months ago when bitcoin was bullish again. However, those who have already bought Bitcoin must feel a little bit reluctant to buy Bitcoin again, but they are still a little embarrassed or feel guilty for selling during a bearish market.

Personally I don't like introducing people to bitcoin or be the one to teach them, I'll only show them to a good source of information and have them make that decision on their own and if they carry on to ask me how do I start then I can take the lead and put them through, my experience with people has bern awful cause a friend of mine I introduced had little patient to wait for the price of bitcoin to go back up and sold at a lose and I felt bad for it, although then I had little knowledge like know and couldn't be much help to him.

Public isn't limited to your friends and community lol. I mean you can tell people about Bitcoin on online forums where you're completely anonymous so limiting yourself to your community just, well, limits you.  And it's not really hiding, if they ask I'm more than willing to tell them that I do Bitcoin, if they don't then I don't see any reason why I should go out of my way to describe it and that they should also do it.

Plus realistically speaking, not really the best time to tell them to invest. I mean, we're already pretty high up. If it was back in 16k, hell yea if someone asked me I'd tell them to invest. Now? They'd still profit yes but not so much, which is probably not what they expect if they hear Bitcoin.

I guess many of you guys here will hit on me that it was risk of me exposing my Bitcon investment to the public but if I may ask in such case, how do we expect to achieve the widely adoption of Bitcoin users if we keep acting ghost of it?
Well, I do not also expect us to comfortably go out there and get exposed out of ignorance because it can as well be risky.

I can not hit on you for sharing about the advantages of Bitcoin investment with your friends, these are your childhood friends and you've known them since your school days, so it's safe to discuss about Bitcoin with them. If it were a random forum where the common interests of the community is not crypto or finance based, then there'll be no need to bring up Bitcoin discussions there.

Personally I only discuss about Bitcoin with people whom I know that they're into cryptocurrency businesses, and I can only discuss it with someone that is not into crypto, only if I see a genuine interest from them to invest in a business that will give them genuine ROI. This decision is based on my experiences in the past when I adopted Bitcoin newly, there was no interest from most of my friends that I tried to tell about Bitcoin, and many among the friends thought that I wanted to scam them.

If its a long time friend or someone whom you do grow old with then of course we would really be doing our very best on telling them on whats the best thing or approach that they should do.
We would really be having that kind of normal approach on telling them about the risks involved even though we arent that be sure for us to be profitable but at least we do share up the idea.
Cant really be denied or cant really be that ignored that when it comes to potential then Bitcoin could really give out those kind of probabilities but of course this is something that
cant really be that predicted. This is why to those who are tending to make out that kind of investment then you should really know on what you are dealing with.

Just make it sure that you shouldnt really be that making yourself that too optimistic towards your investment because it would really be that creating that kind of disappointment
on the time that you would really be experiencing negative with your investment Making up some suggestion wont really be that bad if you are really telling them
about the risks and possible reward.

Yeah, I have fake account in my social medias which doesn't linked with my real accounts, sometime I talk about Bitcoin using that account. It's one of way to promote Bitcoin without need to reveal myself, although we can also talk about Bitcoin in this forum, but people who join this forum already know what they doing, rather than someone who're not completely interested in Bitcoin.

Right now Bitcoin price is $68K, if Bitcoin price could reach $136K in the next year, do you think it's not worth to invest in Bitcoin?

Personally I don't like introducing people to bitcoin or be the one to teach them, I'll only show them to a good source of information and have them make that decision on their own and if they carry on to ask me how do I start then I can take the lead and put them through, my experience with people has bern awful cause a friend of mine I introduced had little patient to wait for the price of bitcoin to go back up and sold at a lose and I felt bad for it, although then I had little knowledge like know and couldn't be much help to him.
But is your friend aware about your little knowledge? If yes then it was also his fault for not doing further research but it's your fault if you pretend to be a professional when in fact you are still a newbie to it. How about your relationship with your friend now? Are you guys okay now?

But, it's only money anyway and can always be paid, while friendship is something more valuable than it. Anyways, now that you are more confident, I suggest you can try it again but also prepare some disclaimer that whatever happens to them, it was still their responsibility, however it's up to you if you will also provide them free funds just to test things out.

pretending to be professional is a complete fooling because someone will believe you and follow what
you are saying because of that professionalism and in the end will drown them into losing because of wrong faith.

I'll just say that nowadays it's neither desirable nor smart to target yourself - because regardless of your intentions and the fact that you think you're saying such things to your friends, have you ever asked yourself who all your friends are going to tell about it? Maybe you think that this is a way to attract more people to Bitcoin, but everyone who has access to the internet has access to information - and if they can't figure out what Bitcoin is by themselves, then they should stay away from investing in it.

Apart from that, I am of the opinion that it is very bad to meddle in someone's finances - and this especially comes to the fore when it results in a financial loss - who do you think is blamed in most cases by those who lose money?

I’ve been a bit disappointed by my friends this cycle. After nearly a decade of pestering them to get into Bitcoin, I had a group of friends dive in during the 2021 bubble. We had lots of fun shitcoining and the like… Unfortunately they didn’t stick around. I nagged them to buy the bottom, reminded them the entire ride up from $16K about the four year cycle and what was coming… They still haven’t got back in. I guess maybe at $100K they’ll start pitching the next Safemoon to me.
We can’t just force people to stick with bitcoin. Not everyone can see the real value of bitcoin, that’s why some would not hesitate to leave most particularly when the market turns bearish and the price drops so low. Well, if these people leave bitcoin at its worst, then they don’t deserve bitcoin at its best. Just wait until bitcoin worth $100k above, I’m sure majority will regret and would be coming back to invest in bitcoin again.

Well I also open up my crypto investment with some of my friends and family before, only few find it interesting or become interested with crypto, then later on those few people got bored and quit.
They don't really want to stay when the market bleeds, they only joined crypto when it was raising or being hyped.
Most of my friends joined when Axie infinity was making such load noise on being P2E then after it falls down all of them just quit and didn't try other things in crypto.

Making an another account just for the sake of spreading up Bitcoin information or for some exposure is really that something tedious on my part but if you do have that kind of passion for the sake of exposure and additional recognition and adoption then this is something commendable. Just like on what you are doing on which im not really that a fan on posting Bitcoin related or crypto related stuffs on my main account.
I would rather tend to be silent and having that in private rather than on being that too tactful and showy on what are the things that i've been dealing with. Im not really that saying im that too greedy
or being too selfish with the opportunity. Im not really just that a type of person who would really be tending to share up something. If ever there would really be someone asking up some questions then
i would really be just directing them into those basic websites explaining basic definitions about Bitcoin or crypto.

I cant really just that take up if ever there would really be those people who would really be blaming me on the time that their investment becomes negative.
I do have that bitter experience when it comes to this manner and this is why i have decided to cut it out.

I have tried my friends a few years ago with no luck at all, my friends were very skeptical.

Because the price per Bitcoin has risen massively since then I am more reserved about
putting my interest in Bitcoin out in the public, now I am of the mindset that the less people
know about my finances the better.

Bitcoin adoption will take care of itself with my handful of friends.

When you invite your family or friends to invest in crypto, of course there are those who will accept your invitation and there are also those who reject it for various reasons they have. Of course we don't need to pay attention to those who don't follow suit, but we have to really teach them about investing and will It's better to advise them to continue to explore knowledge about crypto so they can make a profit.
Every beginner will of course panic when they see market conditions that are experiencing a decline and it would be better if they could use this moment to continue accumulating the assets they want to be able to make a profit when prices increase again.

The first thing i expect that we all have to do when it comes to being amidst our contemporaries, we should learn to observe first before we make any move on introducing bitcoin to them, this will help us to have an idea on their approach towards it and if it will be an acceptable offer or not by the majority of the, the more reasons why you have discovered that many couldn't afford to tell others about what they do because they already know it will end into a mockery if they are not the kind that support for such.
I think that should be our own initiative already by observing the crowd first and see if they are open to volatile investments or not, otherwise introducing bitcoin to them and giving them a glimpse of how it works and turn into profits might only be a waste of time, and throwing you a lot of questions but only criticize it in the end and leave negative impressions. I don’t want to be pessimistic but this is the reality about bitcoin. So as much as possible, I don’t tell everyone that I am into bitcoin, but only those who are closest to me knew that I am a bitcoin enthusiast.
I get your points very clear, I understand that there are certain persons you would initiate about investing on Bitcoin with and they would ridiculous your interest.

In a positive morale, the range of closeness or relationship with anyone and also the environments should be determined if initiating Bitcoin associated discussion would be appreciated to the second party and though, maybe you don't just get yourself exposed that you invests on Bitcoin but literally having it an interesting discussion then if the person picks an interest then it is good and safe to make an obligation towards the persons response on achieving the goal

But on my case, I think it was safe and good. A lot of them are into digital marketing including Forex trading which has crashed in my country as a course of the federal government holding dollar exchange responsible for the devaluing of our traditional currencies naira (#).
And besides, we have been childhood friends and had bonded memories during school days.
Was not enough reason though but I sensed it that even if all won't be interested, there would be those who would and interestingly, it was beyond as thought.
