This is just a funny picture:

Here's what's happening: When an ASIC mines a block, it usually uses the current timestamp. But, since the network allows blocks to be up to 2 hours into the future, and allows diff=1 for blocks that have timestamp more than 20 minutes into the future, that has the following outcome: Once an ASIC block is mined, a CPU miner can mine another 5 blocks immediately, up to 2 hours into the future.

So, the more ASIC miners join, it becomes orders of magnitude more difficult than in mainnet, until they figure out they can mine the CPU blocks themselves and keep them secret until they find an ASIC block.

That would require the hashrate on testnet4 to be orders of magnitude larger than on mainnet. That won't happen.

That will cause large reorgs, but won't change the screenshot you posted at all. And after the next difficulty adjustment, there will be less ASIC blocks again. Without ASIC blocks, CPU miners can't increase the difficulty any further, as they'll be stuck with 1 block every 20 minutes. So this ~5.5 minutes average block time is temporary, only 4 days left.

That's not what I meant. I meant that the marginal increase in hashrate of testnet4 increases difficulty by multiple times more than it would in mainnet, if both had the same hashrate.

Without ASIC blocks, CPU miners can't increase the difficulty any furthe, as they'll be stuck with 1 block every 20 minutes.
But, there will be ASIC blocks mined. In the past week, around 20% of the blocks were ASIC mined. If for each ASIC mined block, there are around 3 CPU mined blocks after it, then around half of the CPU mined blocks are mined due to time travel. If 20% drops to 10%, then CPU mined blocks will also decline by 25%, and then difficulty will decline abruptly again.

I have enough testnet4 coins to give them away until the end of days Cheesy
I've created 300 QR-codes with 1 coin each. See How to create Sheets of Keys with QR-codes:
Results
The QR-codes I created are for testnet4 (and all addresses on the first page have 1 testnet coin each).
PDF: loyce.club/other/print_two-sided.pdf (anyone who needs testnet4 coins: take some, but leave some for someone else)

Update: 20 coins were emptied yesterday.
Update: 271 remaining.
Update: 244 remaining. I like that there are 1-coin-sweeps now on different days. If you're done with your test coins, you can even send them back to a random QR-code on the first page of this PDF.
Update: 241 remaining.
Update: 219.001 remaining.

Lulz, fellas, the OP is probably this fella: https://x.com/bayareacoins/status/1916267274677203339

They are part of the team that drove Testnet 3 demand way up.  Which was Motoswap and is now opnet.org.

They are Testnet whales... it's hilarious he's posting for free coins here... surely a troll lol.
