Memorising them (I have a couple of "wallets") was the first thing I did before I put any funds into them. I turned the words into short sentences that I recite daily. I also have them written down and check against them every few months.
The reason is that should a situation ever occur where I was forced to leave where I am now, I would hate to have to carry that paper with me, and worse have to try and remember those words in the last minute under stress.

Other than my Public keys and those seed words, I don`t even own a physical wallet since I have no plans of spending any BTC for a good 10+ years.

This is just based off of my own personal experience but since your memory is not perfect and you are not infinite, it is best practice to just write your seed phrase down on something that will last longer than a lifetime like a stainless steel plate.

I personally use PunchPlate but there are other tools that are just as good. Here's my own method: https://www.whatisbitcoin.com/security/write-your-seed-phrase

Best of luck.

Just remembered that I have written the recovery seed phrase of my Electrum on a piece of paper somewhere in my place. I'm wondering what could go wrong since my place isn't too secured.  How about trying to memorize it? Is it possible?

Would you try?
What are the benefits? ... and the setbacks.

Good thinking to prioritize your recovery seed phrase's security. Memorization has its pros and cons. Benefits include: enhanced security, convenience and peace of mind. However consider the setbacks: memory failure, cognitive overload, brain wallet vulnerabilities. Remember, security is personal. Choose what works best for your comfort level.

This is the only situation that makes sense to memorize your seed phrase, that is when you have backed it up safely on paper or on a stainless steel offline, you can now use your memory as an additional backup if you like. However, memorizing your seed phrase as your only backup is not recommended, and you are surely going to lock yourself out of your funds, sooner rather than later.

Memorizing 12 words isn't that hard, as long as you spend time to memorize it, you will.

However, memorizing seed phrase should be "one" of many ways to recover your coins, which mean you should do any other backup ways. If you only relying on your brain, then you're high likely will lost access to your coins.

No one know what happen to you in the future, so prepare the worst.

I am probably the only advocator on this forum of memorizing wallet recovery seed phrases. I think that if you write down your recovery seed phrase and memorize it every day for minutes, multiple times, it will be imprinted in your brain, like some lyrics that you learnt at school that you still remember exactly. When you memorize seed phrase, you don't have to worry about safe place, about theft, etc, because it's in your head and no one can steal it from your head.
By the way, the downside is that if you get a serious head injury or brain surgery, there is a very high chance that you won't remember your seed phrases but on the other hand, if you had such an accident, you wouldn't be able to remember where you have saved your recovery seed phrases.
I have memorized my seed phrases, that's all I can tell.

You should write down it, keep it secret and store it in a safe place. If you don't prefer phrases based encryption then you can go with MPC MPC-based software wallet like Bitget wallet. It's a User-Friendly and secure platform

The best way is so far is to write them down on paper as earlier mentioned then back it up offline in something better but personally I think I have other better ways of saving my seed phrase which is storing them in a save device which I only have access to and also paper duplicate in case of any future occurrence. I wouldn't wish any one to have a lost of funds as a result of keeping their seed phrase in their brains, a lot of things get in and out the brain on daily basis and one can easily replace a word to another when reciting them.

Instead of memorizing, I'd rather note it down and store it in a safe place, even with its own code that only we know. However, we cannot trust our memorization. In fact, when it is wrong in one word, it will be difficult to restore it, especially in the matter of sequence. Apart from that, we need to memorize it every day, which means, you need to check every week the Recovery Phrase you have to make sure. Personally, I prefer to keep it in a trusted place.

not a good way to secure a recovery phrase, there might some incident where we are going to forget something eventually, and its against what people is telling us, secured means we need to keep it in a safe place, not memorized it, its a first way to lost a money, and this practice will eventually make you broke, when it comes to cryptocurrency, one small mistake will cost you everything that's a fact.

How do you know this device is safe, is it connected to the internet? If this device isn't airgapped and completely disconnected from the internet, then it is never safe to store your seed phrase in it. Only you may have access to it locally, but attackers can steal your coins over the internet if it is in an internet connected device.

What's your opinion about MPC based software wallets like Bitget? It's more secure and doesn't require to memorize any phrases

I wouldn't recommend this. What happens if you get ill and forget it? Or you get injured in an accident and lose some of your memory? "Memory" is not the best form of redundancy.

Its possible to memorize your recovery phrase and It is 100% risky if you only rely on it so it is advisable not to rely on your memory as your only method to store your recovery phrase and I wouldn't encourage you to write it down in a piece of paper since your house isn't secure. Important documents store and kept in the house could be stolen, eaten by rodents or possibly got burn by accidental fire or got swept by flood so the best method I can recommend for you to store your recovery phrase is your Google Mail  or you can snap it and backup it in you google photos.

You have taken a good step by writing down your seed phrase but there’s no excuse to leave it exposed. You already know that your place is not too secured and I don’t think it will take someone a whole lot work to hide a piece of paper out of others reach. If you choose to memorize it, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that but you should note that it doesn’t make any difference as long as people have access to it. Memorizing it won’t stop them from accessing it if the paper isn’t well secured.

The benefit is that you can access your wallet anytime and anywhere without having to carry the paper around. The setback? Your wallet is likely to be easily exposed since you can attempt to use the phrase at any given time since you have the phrase in your memory. And yeah, I have important things to think about now, I won’t stress my brain with that again.

I don't know your cognitive abilities and I can't judge that but keep in mind that memorizing your recovery phrase carries risks. What if you forget them? In this case, you completely depend on your memory. If you are confident that you will remember 12 words in a row and you won't forget them in months or years, then go on, and memorize your recovery phrases but if you aren't confident enough, then don't risk it.
If you are still eager to memorize them, if I were you, at first I would write down recovery phrases and save them securely but at the same time, I would try to memorize them. If I'd be confident enough to depend on my memory, then I would destroy the paper or whatever it is where I wrote down recovery phrases, otherwise I would still keep it stored.

Actually you could do both things yet having that multiple back ups is much more better compared on having a single back up on which it could potentially that make those coins lost forever if ever there would really be some issues on where you have stored up those keys on which it wont really be that something that not good to hear of. Each method or ways does have its cons on which when you do write it up on a paper then it could have the chance that it might get lost, be that get wet or be teared up or would be burned or simply just been seen by other people, then it would really be that resulting in losing up your coins on which the same when you do tend to memorize your phrase or keys too on which you might be able to forget a single letter or word or any part of it then it would really be a complete loss of your own coins and this isnt a good news.
Better be sure that you could really be having that multiple methods on storing up your keys on which of course you would really be also needing yourself on making it stored and be away on other peoples awareness
or in reach.

I find this matter of yours very sad, especially the Electrum wallet key you wrote down on paper is good but should have been kept carefully. Maybe you could save it in a diary it seems pretty safe. But it would be best if you write it down in a diary and keep it in a safe place inside your cupboard, but you can't remember it now because if you keep it in your memory, you could lose your wallet if it's the slightest mistake. So you can write two to three ways on a piece of paper and keep it under your control and in the right place so that it doesn't get lost.

Its possible to memorize your recovery phrase and It is 100% risky if you only rely on it so it is advisable not to rely on your memory as your only method to store your recovery phrase and I wouldn't encourage you to write it down in a piece of paper since your house isn't secure. But I write down my wallet keys in a diary and keep it safe enough. So that fire, water, wind, they are kept far away. But if it is destroyed by a single earthquake, then I will have nothing to do. But I've never put it in google mail so I don't know how secure it is.
But I will create a very strong mail later and store it there, because will it be enough for future security?

Of course, you can memorize recovery seed phrase, but you need to learn the recovery seed phrase since you're a child . I'm not kidding, Did you still remember what a long text or something like game cheats code when you're a child ? did you still remember that ?. No one will recommends that weird think. As we grow, there will be many things that we think of, there are more important things to remember. You can write the recovery seed phrase on your diary or make some txt file on the hard disk.
Would i try?, Nope, thank's

I personally think it is a good idea to memorize ones recovery phrase, but it is supposed to be seen as a backup way to recover ones funds in the case the seed guess lost and one does not where it is, for example. Human memory is fragile,.so ones brain is not suitable to store information in the long term, specially wallets, it can be easily translated to financial losses.

A better practice would be not completely rely on paper, but rather get some metal plate to engrave the seed on, then memorize it and also set a passphrase. Once the seed has been successfully memorized, then store the metal plate in a safe location, where online you could find it easily.

I do not have the numbers at hand right now, but I am sure I have read about many people losing thousands of Bitcoins to their bad memory. So do not do it that way
