I know it and you are a stupid believing me. Note: In crypto world nobody is the owner of a specific privatekey. He who has the private key is the owner of Bitcoin or other crypto. This is very simple. Do whatever you can. Better delete this post and go to sleep.

I had 12 word passphrase. Someone from the bitcointalk.org gave me private message and told me that he was a hacker and wanted job. I thought he was lying. I gave him 12 words of my bitcoin passphrase but shuffling. I decided to give him 25 USDT after killing his time and getting my thesis paper editing.
I thought he could not be able to organise them. But now my bitcoin is gone from my wallet. What should I do now? It was around 0.1243 BTC. Just crying. Is there any law infrocement unit to help me?
First of all, this sounds like it is just a story. Secondly, you've accumulated 0.1+ BTC and you do not even know about the basics to not share your phase with anyone, it was just a 12 words phase, so it won't be difficult for anyone to re-arrange it, at least for those who know well about the loops and algorithms on a distributed network. TBH a simple brute-force attack can also work bro. Edit: haha funny part 2 newbies from TG are here to discuss this topic that great.

What kind of story is this? Op gave people seed phrases randomly, but I guess this is a play they made up.
It's like a lying story, if it really happened then OP would have made a report and there's no way anyone would be that stupid to give a seed phrase for a measly $25.
Report it to the local police, but I don't believe in this charade.

This history sounds a bit not realistic. Hence here private message can be checked by admin and mods... So they can see if you are telling something real or not... But the real question is: why to give random passphrase to some one? It should be 479001600 combinations possible with 12! not easy at all to test all these combinations and verify if these address are loaded... Of course you can go to your local police and provide proofs of what happens. Regardless of whether the OP's story is true or not, I like the last sentence you said because why give our seed to others even if it is randomly given but in the end it is a silly act especially when the wallet has quite a lot of assets in it. Indirectly it's like giving a fish to a hungry cat and you have to be prepared for the condition where the fish is taken away It doesn't sound realistic but let's just say this is a truth that happens and indeed saying this on the forum is the same as making this like a joke, not that this is a condition where we have fun on the suffering of others but this is also a lesson that in the end silly actions can make a more serious situation if it is done and the conditions that happened to the OP (If it really happened) it was purely from his own fault for being careless in giving seeds that should be private.

I met this same guy. I gave him my house keys and car keys but shuffled. Now my TV is gone, and my car. You, sir, are an idiot. LMAO 🤣🤣 this comment is just killing me. I'm with you! I just can't believe that anyone would that stupid as to give out their passphrase, like who does that? By the way, I noticed that the OP just dropped a username of the supposed scammer.

Well, I am telling the true fact. She did not give me the seed phrase. I requested her giving me a job. But she tried to make some fun with me. Just trying to play with me. Personally I am a software engineer and need urgent money. My intension was getting a web development job from her. In the telegram she told me that she wanted to make a e-commerce website and requested plan and all other things. I spent around 3 hours to write proposal with specific website skeleton and functions.
Unfortunately she told me that she did not want to make a website. For this reason I gave her a lesson.
I understood that she was just playing with me whereas I was very serious getting a job. What I did, simply put a virus file in her computer and hacked her screen and key phrase. After hacking I sent her key phrase in the telegram to check. She never ever gave me her key phrase. She is just lying. Tit for tat. Good bye.

Obvious fake! Both "fromindia" and "julia335" are clearly sockpuppet accounts operated by the same pathetic individual.
Yeah, it's pretty obvious, but I wonder what the person behind all this is trying to achieve from this. Getting some attention from forum members isn't going to give them anything, or maybe they just like getting attention regardless of it being positive or negative.

Who cares what's rattling around in that empty skull? Dude's clearly got a few screws loose... Negative attention is still attention, I guess, but it's a sad way to spend your time. I mean, his motives are clear - money. As for the methods, he tried them all - from begging, loan requests, making up sympathy stories, outright scam attempts... the whole grifter playbook. He's about as subtle as a brick to the face, and probably too stupid to come up with an original idea on his own.

So what if the suspect is a not a citizen of the same country with O.P, what will the local police do? Because I think O.P should learn to accept his loss, because he/she is 100% at fault for giving his 12 words seed phrase to a complete stranger he met here on the forum. Infact, what was he even thinking, if not been careless and reckless regarding his Bitcoin. Hence, I think this should act as a lesson for him and all those who will want to make such silly mistake in the future that Wallet Seed phrase is ought to be treated as gold, precious and delicate.
Their is nothing that can be done and it is going to be very difficult for even police to get hold of the thief, I have tried every possible ways to think how they can get the person maybe if their is a kind if cctv camera in the room then its going to be very easy to catch him. And since he has lost it and if they can not get the thief he should just affect his faith because somtimes people have to learn the hard way. They are always warning people to keep their seed phrase safe but people are always fallen victim, the better people start learning than want to make money from Bitcoin their priority. The ownership of bitcoin is determined by who is holding the seed phrase. And the more people see news like this the more they learn, and they tell people to go for knowledge first before even having it in mind to invest, and if the victim had another extra spare place were the seed phrase was written he would have just wired the Bitcoin to another account. But don't be surprised that he did not even noticed that his seed phrase was stolen, maybe even before he transfers the funds out the person or rather the thief must have done the same thing. The earlier the better people start leaning the better.

Nobody is going to believe in this, OP. I have an idea, why don't you post your shuffled seed next time you buy some bitcoin. We'll see how difficult it is and get back to you. I gave him 12 words of my bitcoin passphrase but shuffling.

Can you just hear yourself out, someone from the forum giving you a private message and you responded after telling you he is a hacker, then you also proceed ahead in testing for how true it could be, if the fire he was holding could burn you if you touched it, now you have given a try and it hurt, it shouldn't be a surprise anymore because you just made an experiment and tested on something, do you even have an idea of what your twelve secrete phrase means, because if you do you cant even afford to give a single part of it to anyone not to talk of the hacker in question, lastly, no evidence shown from you on this and we have no idea of the user involved.

This is what I have been expecting to see; if not, I wonder how on earth someone who stole something will still come out to show himself since, since I saw this post, I have been investigating to confirm that all these two accounts are the same person trying to use other people's intelligence in order to get merit or even get some helping hand that will sympathise with his situation to give him some amount so that he will not feel bad, but all this should make it a life. Once again, I will say you actually did a nice job, FatFork, identifying all those types of accounts, and such people are not supposed to be welcome in this space.

Op that is foolishness by reshuffling your seed phrase and given to someone you don't know. You would have given him random numbers from outside that you took don't even know. And now your coins are gone. Op the fault was from you and you caused it. And I must tell you that nobody here can help you and securing your wallet seed phrase is just a Timaya songs in the forum every day. And you here you are still making this silly mistake. Well you have to learn a lesson from this one and next time you don't have to do such a thing. Scammers fool this forum and they are looking for opportunities like to scam and hack people. LoL, you wanted to test his hacking ability. OP the best way for now is to publish his username here so that everyone will know him.

i don’t think there’s anything that can help you since i see nothing illegal about what he did. you were the one who gave your passphrase even if it’s shuffled. it was your fault for trusting him or thinking that he doesn’t have any ill intent when he was the one who said himself that he’s a hacker. sorry you lost so much but it is kind of your fault

I think your story is bullshit, and i don't know why you would want to waste your time and that of everyone else, telling such a story that never happened. However, i don't care if what you say is correct or not, but nobody should ever expose their seed phrase, even if it is not backed up in the correct order, you cannot experiment with your money, in the way op said he did in his bullshit story.
I wonder who will want to experiment with $7,758.14. Even some of the richest people in the world wouldn't want to lose such an amount of money carelessly. OP is just lying or just wants to get unnecessary attention. There are still some lessons to from this kind of fabricated story. I think it is a wake-up call to those who are new to the Bitcoin ecosystem to never expose their seed phrase or password in any form to anybody. Scammers or hackers can use sophisticated technological tools to steal money from people's wallets.
