I have never encountered a gambling criticizer to be gambling himself as in my beginning some of my relatives then knew I was gambling as I was gambling offline because of the difficulty of gambling online in the years previous to 2000 when the Internet did had a real boom.The maximum I have seen such person was playing a multi 10 games ticket together with me which I convinced him and the brutal thing was we got all 9 games correct and one with odd 1.10 I don't remember which was but a team from Romania made us lost our bet,we had 1 dollar for 164.28 dollars and that was the max he did for gambling.He never got to become addicted like I was at some point during my gambling journey,he used to talk to me to stop gambling in 2010-2012 a period where I had become addicted yet himself he never found himself being addicted or having problems gambling.

But I am sure you know what peer pressure can do to someone who has no intention or interest in doing things, and he will definitely end up doing it as a human being. It will be very hard for you to control yourself when it comes to peer pressure, especially in the aspect of fun and money. I think that in principle there is no need to condemn anything (what is within the law). Everyone has their own habits, everyone is used to spending time differently. Some people like to play football, some like to drink beer with friends, some like to gamble. But when a person begins to condemn something, and then does it himself, then this makes him twice wrong, because he condemned himself with his own words. On the moment that you have some bad sentiments or words towards gambling but ending up on dealing with it just because of some financial reason or simply your last resort because you've seen that this is the fastest way on earning easy money on which it's true but come to think that this is also the fastest way on losing too.Also, you had just eaten up your words earlier and this is why it's never been that ideal or recommended that making some early conclusions.

Influence and anything around on surroundings could really be that highly influencial on which at the moment you do find yourself that getting interested on the things that you are seeing, the most likely you would be having considerations on doing it also.You might hate up gambling earlier but if you do saw that people around you are playing then it won't be shocking that you would also do it.

People are judgmental because it's in our nature. Especially people who don't think highly of themselves will try to belittle and criticize others to make them feel worse and weaker. In other words people are constantly trying to climb steps and if that means throwing some people on the ground to walk on their backs, so be it.

You shouldn't give them attention. If they judge you, make sure you're doing what your conscience and ethics tell you to do and ignore the noise.

I have this habit of associating with anybody regardless of the type of person you are by default. Whether you smoke or you drink, it doesn't stop me from liking you but you can't influence me with your lifestyle and I wouldn't say you should stop, after all you are an adult and you have the right to choose the kind of lifestyle you want, that's how I will view anyone that gamble even I don't do it but some people will think they are better than you because they don't like what you do.

I don't think there's any purpose on blaming someone to introducing you to something, at the end of the day it's YOU who's responsible for choosing to stay (and in this case, get addicted). Just like you have said those who once criticise gambling never expected to be gamblers but the lose of job or fall of their business made them to go into gambling. The truth is that most of the people playing gambling are not gambling because they have interest in it at first but they only came in thinking that it can be a source of income for them. Do you have any actual examples? The world is full of hypocrites but they are not necessarily that vocal in the scenario that you've mentioned. There are usually societal pressures on people to be against gambling, often driven by religion, so people have no choice but to reject it publicly - even if they enjoy it in private. If they did not denounce it, they might find themselves ostracized from their community or families even, as we see the grip that religion can often create. It's not often that you see the more financially well off go down the path of gambling and it would usually require some pretty big life events to send someone far off the rails like you described in point 1, but maybe they always had an unstable streak bubbling away underneath the surface.

I think this is one of the reasons why we don't have to criticize people for nothing just because we don't like such a thing. There is nothing wrong with one being a gambler which might be different from other people's perspective but I think that should just be there business. Gambling is actually fun but some regions do not support it which I think it's okay for me. It's not everybody that would want to support what we like or what we think is moral. Morality is diverse and we should just understand that once it's nig illegal and would not force us to do things  that are illegal then that should be moral. The same goes with the people of the church in my area.  They are so against gambling activities and often preach that gambling will lead people to sin and ruin but when they need funds for certain activities, they rely on raffle draws.  This is the best example of hypocrisy, IMO, and supports the topic about people who look at gambling as a disgusting thing and end up using it to fill their cup when needed.  This kind of thing does not happen only once but for every activity of that said church where a fund is needed.

I think this is one of the reasons why we don't have to criticize people for nothing just because we don't like such a thing.

Not only that, we must also know the details of the subject matter before saying anything, may it be positive or negative.  It is best to have knowledge about stuff being discussed than just saying something irrelevant or stupid because people see it that way.

There used to be this relative of mine that used to procrastinate gambling of being an irresponsible activity which a responsible person is not supposed to be doing and nomatter how we have tried to explained to him that it is basically a game of fun rather some gamblers has tended to take it personally for source of income which has got them ridiculed but he will always say... Forget it, they are all the same that gamblers are gamblers which is designed for irresponsible people.

At him hearing that our neighbor won huge amount of money in the gambling he was like... Hmm! This gambling is really working and they we all took it for granted.

Within the range of two weeks he was found in gambling shop but he claimed to had accompanied his friend. He came back home with a gambling slip and does not know how to check the game on how it played because it was a sport games he played. So, he came tell me that I should not mind him that he actually gave it a try to bet one while accompanied his friend but he would need me to check the slip for him.
As I am talking to you he is now a proud gambler but though he do maintain a responsible gambling.

It's not just a gambling thing but something that happens very often in life which is why I'm not quick to judge people for their endeavors. There's an old saying that "It's condition that made Crayfish to be bent". So if anyone is gambling, they definitely have their reasons. Another reason for the constant criticism we get on gambling is as a result of the environment we live in. Most of us live in societies where gambling is not appreciated and this negative perception about gambling has been passed down from one offspring to the other. It is only normal for people born into such societies to have such wrong notion or judgemental altitude towards gambling at the beginning until the stubborn ones decide to try it out of curiosity to see how it looks like.
