CBP did not name the driver of the semi-truck carrying liquid meth. No court case information was immediately available, either.

https://www.newsnationnow.com/us-news/immigration/border-coverage/semi-liquid-meth-border-patrol/amp/

So they won't identify the individual or anything about his court date. I bet he will be sent back across the border no punishment at all.

Walter White, is that you?

During a recent campaign event in Phoenix, Arizona, Donald Trump mused about capital punishment. “We’ve never had [such] massive amounts of drugs pouring into our country,” he said. “And by the way, you’ll never solve the problem without the death penalty.

The US is not like China or other countries that are ruled by authoritarian. The American government system has as a working system of checks and balances. Death sentences for drug-related cases will not be supported by Congress and many court cases will make this law null and void. Donald Trump seems to be promising many things that he might not be able to implement.

But the rate at which drugs in been snuggled into the US is alarming and the country needs to take drastic action against this harmful flow of drugs such as fentanyl. Trump will have to seek other means other than the death penalty if he wants to combat drugs. And one of the ways is to increase boundary surveillance.

The problem of hard drugs is a global threat that is becoming more sophisticated. There has been an increase in the establishment of hard drugs laboratories and factories in my country. So the government is now fighting against importers and local producers drug dealers, which has made the fight against drugs more fierce.

i'm not sure. hopefully not. we have new execution method nowadays which might make the death penalty a bit more palatable. at least for the general public's perception. they can use nitrogen gas now.

https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/25/us/nitrogen-gas-execution/index.html

i think that's the most humane way of dealing with drug dealers. when i say drug dealers i mean big ones not street dealers selling tiny amounts.

There is no humane way of killing people. It has also been discussed that using nitrogen gas for execution also causes severe human suffering. I don't also think that reducing the amount of time in the execution process is what makes the process humane. If you want to consider the fastest means to kill, then beheading should be the best option.

I am not an advocate of the death penalty not just because it will lead to pain and sorrow, but because the legal system is not without defects. Some people have been sentenced to death or life imprisonment who were later discovered to be innocent. Many people have been found guilty wrongly and the death penalty doesn't give them a second chance. I prefer a life sentence under hard conditions like hard labor and severe restrictions.

Didn't know that stuff burned in a truck engine. Pretty expensive fuel, right?

It's a good weight. I wonder who the customer is.

Probably it was a cargo intended to be distributed to a local dealer in the United States so it can be delivered in smaller quantities to addicts. I have no doubt in mind this is an operation directly carried out by cartels.
Also, I doubt the driver is going to be released back in Mexico with no punishment at all as some people have suggested, being caught with that amount of Meth is a serious offense in the USA, the only thing which could help in this guy's case would be him being a first time offender, otherwise he will have to do a long time behind bars.
I thought drugs cartels were more into trafficking fentanyl instead of meth these days, by the way.

that would be a pretty big offence for a "first time offender" he's really stepping up to the plate big time if that's the case. nevertheless, that's why they don't release his name and photo so that they can send him back over the boarder. you won't hear any further updates on his case. because there's nothing to update. he's not here anymore.
