OP maybe you are temporarily in the wrong state. I'm not saying altcoin and shitcoin can't make money of course money can be made but with highest risk in case of shitcoin. And Bitcoin is not only for the rich, Bitcoin is definitely open to the small capitalists. Maybe rich people own a bitcoin or more with their capital, but gifting any amount to small capitalists will result in no restriction that bitcoin is only open to the rich. Maybe the person who introduced you to cryptocurrencies didn't make you an expert on Bitcoin, which may have led you to completely misunderstand the Bitcoin. Absolutely wrong opinion. I have been in cryptocurrencies since 2016-2017 and I can say that Bitcoin can make an investor rich if he approaches investing with patience and reasonable analysis. All these memecoins and altcoins (except Ethereum) are dummies that only take away attention and time. These are lotteries that have no connection between price and their usefulness. Absolutely wrong opinion. I have been in cryptocurrencies since 2016-2017 and I can say that Bitcoin can make an investor rich if he approaches investing with patience and reasonable analysis. All these memecoins and altcoins (except Ethereum) are dummies that only take away attention and time. These are lotteries that have no connection between price and their usefulness. Only Bitcoin is worthy of attention and investment.

Altcoins can still be profitable but if we are looking for long term investment, hence we should only stick to bitcoin. It may not guarantee us big and quick profits, but if we are just patient and won't turn greedy with our investment, we will eventually make it big with bitcoin in the future.  Consistency and patience are certainly the keys. If you don't have that, then stay away from bitcoin, otherwise you'll only regret investing bitcoin at a loss.

I disagree with the OP's point of view and claim that investing in bitcoin is a waste of time. But are you right in saying that all altcoins are scams or useless and do not bring us profit? Not only ETH, altcoins like BNB, Solana or NEAR...are bringing profits to many investors that are not inferior to our bitcoin investment. We should not deny that all altcoins are scams or just a waste of our time.

But altcoins are only suitable and should only be invested in the short and medium term. In the long term, bitcoin is still the top and only choice.

When it comes to cryptocurrency investments we don't force or detect to people which investments they need to choose, people have the right to go for any investment they feel it is right for them and since you have done your research to see bitcoin is not good for you then good for you. Investment is a personal raise because what you like or want will different from what some other person wants too. But only time will tell and your experience to tell if investing in altcoins is more better than bitcoin. In cryptocurrency one of the best way to learn is by experience and not necessarily by what people tell you.

Research is not just enough to tell if something is good to into but the experience you will get is what will give the real answers to what you want if it is good or not.

This is laughable but you said the truth, know one has the right to decide for anyone on the investment move to make but the truth must be told whether the individual involved listen or not, sometimes I feel the problem with most investors is greed, lack of understanding and quest for quick money, what if volatility favours the dip for a long time will @ContentWritter continue hodling the shitcoin and altcoin until they pump?  I think we should get this thing straight, it is an established fact that even we advise people on something we cant force them to do it, everyone has the right to chose what they like but we should also know that there pump and dump coins which i strong believe that the op knows that Bitcoin does not fall within that category, come to think of it without Bitcoin pumping know other coin will pump, be it shicoin and altcoin.

Well, if you really think that bitcoin is for the rich people, it means that you aren't ready to become rich in the future years to come.
However, to invest in Bitcoin is by choice and if you really think that Bitcoin can not give you quick money as you have excepted it properly because Bitcoin (crypto) is not a get rich quick scheme.
Even if you were able to get good profits from altcoins/shitcoins it's just luck that you were able to profit from it, anything crypto (altcoins/shitcoins) doesn't give you quick money unless it's a scam or you invested at the right time.
Let me use a airdrop as an instance, most airdrops that was listed earlier bumped after the launched and many people that believe on altcoins and shitcoins as you do, buys the airdrop and after some few days the airdrop depreciate rapidly.
Bitcoin is the best coins to invest at this period, and the perfect thing is that you can buy with as little as $3 per week or month (depending on how much you get), and if you keep on buying like that for a year or more you will get a good profits too.
One thing I understand from this your post is that you are looking for what to invest for a short time that can give you profits. But you should try and know that you can loose your money.

Well, if you really think that bitcoin is for the rich people, it means that you aren't ready to become rich in the future years to come.

I cannot find any connection with this on what you quoted wanted to imply. It simply means that Bitcoin is too expensive.  In order to get a life changing profit today, we need a huge amount of money to invest to Bitcoin.  Like we are expecting a $150k ATH, the peak of the current bull run.  It is only around 3x of the current price, so in order for a person to get a million-dollar profit, he needs to invest around $350k  and that is not a small amount.

Although it sounds funny, it tastes bitter to admit that if one wants a huge return in the shortest possible time, one needs to take risks and invest in new cryptocurrency projects.  I won't deny that there is also a huge chance that the investment money will be gone in the shortest possible time if they invested on scam projects.  So I suggest to really dig deep on any project a person is interested in investing.

Your statement is true until shitcoin drain your money completely. Maybe you are lucky to have bought a shitcoin that pumped and gave you huge profits that's why you are drawing this conclusion. The complaint of people about how they lost money in shitcoin are litred all over the Internet but there are little of such complaints about investing in Bitcoin. Tell me first, what money are altcoins and shitcoins? These are the same investment instruments as Bitcoin. Don't you know that? Altcoins are more volatile and risky. Also full of scams.
 And besides, I think you might want to get rich overnight from crypto, which doesn't quite fit the rules of Bitcoin. To reap the benefits of Bitcoin, you must patiently focus on HODL. Skip if you can't be patient. Bitcoin is not for everyone.
But just because you failed at Bitcoin investing doesn't mean someone else can't succeed. You can't discourage anyone by telling your failure stories, saying that you've wasted time chasing Bitcoin.Now if you find really good profit from Altcoins, then you should work on it. I am not a bitcoin maximalist and I also invest partly in altcoins but I disagree with OP's statement. First: because bitcoin is for everyone, not just for the rich. Anyone can invest and make profit from it but the truth is that the profit from bitcoin is not as big as many altcoins give us. Second, it is true that investing in altcoins is not that bad because it can bring us more profits but that is only true when we find quality projects. Altcoins can be highly profitable but they are also very risky and we can even lose everything if we invest in the wrong project, so it cannot be said that the real money is in altcoins.

To me, it would be a bad idea for someone to invest only in altcoins without having bitcoin in their portfolio.
