They do it, knowing that he may actually end up selling it all. They do it because it's free marketing, they didn't pay a single dime for those tokens, people are keep saying "oh they sent 17.5 billion neiro tokens!!!" like it worths a damn, they spent maybe a dollar on the gas fee, that's it nothing more the rest was fully free for the team, they can send 4% of total supply, they can send 40% of total supply, it's free to them.

They do this because sending it to him is free marketing, and it is "look Vitalik is holding it" and that works for a while, but when Vitalik sells? That's even bigger marketing, and they hope that it makes them some profit, which is doing it right now, and maybe could work for the long term for them as well.

Even if it bankrupts them, it is better to try than not to try. I can see that we are talking about Vitalik hurting the price and crashing it, but at least they gave it a shot, and they can say that it's Vitalik's fault and they can get themselves out of the question. Sending it to some burn address wouldn't be marketing, it wouldn't help anyone and that is why they didn't do it, but sending it to Vitalik got us talking about it, I never heard it before, but now I have.

I am not on track with Vitalik but that's what he's going to do every time he sees some opportunity. I remember a news about him dumping shiba inu token and then donated the money. He knows the drill and every time there's an opportunity that he'd dump a free money that has came from airdrops or given to him by the developers, he'd surely cash out the money.

He's a typical guy and just enjoys whatever he's doing. He's going to dump as much as money that he can get from these meme coins. He's got not loyalty to them but only to his creation where many are also loyal nowadays, no other than Ethereum. These big boys and players of the market will not waste any opportunity when they've got. They're sellers and not holders except to the actual ones that they do and for Vitalik, ETH and mostly Bitcoin too.

Vitalik probably doesn’t want to be associated with their shitcoin. They will know this was a possibility creating an ERC20 token & involving him. They probably hoped he wouldn’t even notice receiving them as to him, it’s a small amount of money. They would hope they could shill ads saying he was a holder of their token.

They already used the situation for that, in fact, you are right. And, in fact, the price (looking from the fifth of this month) has sky-rocketed thanks to this event and the info-hole that it created behind the coin, so to speak.

exactly, this pattern also used by some scammer too to promote their scam coin, by sending their scam coin to some famous people's wallet.

whatever vitalik did to the token he was sent is completely justified, if anyone calling out vitalik for selling their favourite meme coin that he got for free, well they are mad just because it dumps their bag, but honestly even vitalik dumping this coin also sparks attention to the coin itself that caused it to gain more exposure.

I would do the same thing. These scammers are trying to pump their token by sending a lot of their supply to Vitalik and hoping he will hold on to them. They can use his name to advertise the token by saying he is a holder, while also removing billions of tokens from circulation. It did not play out the way they expected and he dumped on them. It is free money for him, which I would hope he would use for something positive.

That sounds like the truth, I like the way you presented the idea behind his actions, but only time will tell. I would do the same, and everybody would, I think Wink

I completely agree and even I would have done the same. These scammer are harming the crypto market by their malicious actions and causing significant losses to many new comers in the crypto market. These new entrants believe that these worthless meme coins with no utility can make them rich overnight but in reality they suffer huge losses when any big whale dumps these coins. It is better to stay away from these worthless digital assets.

They've actually had more money from all of that affair, in my opinion. Their coin continues to pump and it won't stop if they are going to come up with something like that in the future. Still, it's true that they are usually not worth investing in.

vitalik.eth Vitalik Buterin
sold all 17.15B $Neiro for 44.53 $ETH($112.5K) 1 hour ago.

The #Neiro team transferred 17.15B $Neiro(4.08% of the total supply) to vitalik.eth after the launch.

https://etherscan.io/tx/0x5346141743fc3cc72579f43b787cc0b1fc36c5bfe314f35a9e68178f0bb3a0e0
When you give someone "free money" that they can sell, what do you expect them to do? On top of that if that same person has been given free money before and sold all the tokens, when you repeat the action what makes you think that you will not get the same result again?

It's obvious that there are many mistakes here, and the biggest one is the fact that there are people who still think that sending any tokens to Vitalik means anything good. Obviously if it worths nothing then he will not care, but if it starts to worth something, he has proven time and time again that he will just simply sell it. This is the same thing and he did it before, and he will do it again. I am sure founders of neiro knew the risks and what could happen.

They knew the risks and played their cards: the hype around Neiro skyrocketed (whether it was a good one or a bad one - everybody decides for themselves Grin). I think that in the long run, they will profit from what happened, even if that seems dumb and non-strategical at the moment.
