I have some bucks to invest & I'm not sure. Don't wanna buy BTC as I already have some. For these savings, I am planning some altcoins to add in my portfolio.
Not sure yet if I want it for long term or short.
Suggestions are appreciated.

I would prefer you buy more bitcoin but if you're satisfied with the number of bitcoin in your portfolio you can go ahead with top Altcoins or infact go for coins that are currently performing fine and take them only on short term investment but id you find a project which you're convinced enough to hold for some kind long period not years specifically but within a good time frame you can add them up.

But perhaps all this advise are only mere suggestions not a professional advise so you're prone to losses hence you should trade with care.

I would say that you should not look for trending ones, but strong ones. For example Bitcoin is still something that we can care about, and it is going to end up with a good result no matter what, if you trust that and believe that then you are going to make some good profit and some good money, not everyone can easily make that, but we are going to end up with it eventually, it just has to be done one way or another.

I believe that if you look at only the ones which are trending for the time being, like something that looks good only for now, then you are not going to end up with a good result, and you should avoid those. Because something that goes up just now, will not be great for the long term and you never know when it will crash.

Yes, still so many altcoins are very lowest price in the market and absolutely it's good time to buy altcoins, i seen MATIC was the lowest price 0.34$, it was pretty low within last a several years. So i did not missed it to buy, and now it's good pumping as well as other altcoins also increasing. This good opportunity to Altcoins fans.

Apparently in the world today people have made their fellow human a god that they obey or worship everything that comes out of their mouths, role models, big celebrities etc are examples of people who followers can easily fall for scam just because their influencers said they should invest. the world today does not longer look at things for fact but for influences they got from some calibers of people.

For this reason there are some people who are smart and intelligent enough to understand that people can go astray with their influence so when they try to promote projects what they do is make a bold text or disclaimer that this not a financial advise etc. having seen this I know that there are still people who will not listen to the instructions.

It seems that this stance needs to be taken because altcoins in a volatile market, indeed the low price for matic lately shows a price that can be bought, but a good view remains focused on the recent market revival by getting more attention, because of course with the right reasons, I predict the price will rise in the highly anticipated altcoin season, because the price of matic is a ticket for you to achieve profit in the crypto world.

Bro, just forget about the trending remark you added, it's basically useless these days. All of the coins that were trending are now making investors lose, so what's the point? But you should not faint in heart, you can still make the best investment these days as most of the altcoins have significantly retraced, which means that you can buy them cheap and also make money with a lower risk unlike if you were buying them when they were still at higher prices.

You can see what YGG, PEPE, RUNE, SUI, BOME, BONK and many of them have done lately, they've fallen so well, which is an opportunity for any investor to maximise their profits. Nevertheless, the the project I'm looking at the most now is a TON, the coin did not fall as many did which is a very good plus for it and the way it's seriously rivalling Solala makes it a good coin to consider.

Don't buy new coins in this bullish market but it's good opportunity to buy old coins even with at very low price. If you holding some BTC, now buy it again because BTC is safest investment ever in crypto, then my next choices is Ethereum you can buy it for medium or long term investment, Do not buy any new coin to avoid losses.

Yes BTC is a safe play, but the op said he don't want to invest in BTC for now, maybe he has invested a lot on BTC which he want to try altcoin to see what he will going to earn for the few months he will going to hodl the altcoins. But if you find good memecoins project, I guess you will like them in the market, because they are easy for you to earn profit that will make you feel big at the moment but don't try to make it a long term hodling because they are not good for long term hodling, and if you want a long term hodling coins, you can hodl BTC, ETH and BNB and you will like what you will make when the price hit higher.

I agree with you. If we talk about trending altcoins then meme coins are one of them. I think meme coins will always be trending every time. But as you said it is gambling. If you are lucky you will hit the jackpot which will increase your money by thousands of percent. But if you fail you will totally lose your money. I think even in dex only 1 out of 1000 meme coins can actually be profitable.
