It was delayed due to technical difficulties which was addressed by Elon saying that it was a DDOS attack on the platform. After a few minutes, it finally started and had over a million listeners. Anyway what surprised me the most was there was no mention of cryptocurrency. Between the two of them, you’d think they would be most interested in discussing about it.

Trump being very outspoken about his plans on crypto and Elon famously using crypto for transactions in his businesses even being affiliated with a memecoin, doge.

The second link is to a Youtube video that has only audio, like a podcast, but I see that it lasts 6 hours, I guess it's because of the technical problems. I don't want to listen to it, and even less so long. I'll watch the summary of the most important things on the news.

Why do you think they didn’t mention it even once?

I followed up the  news speculation even before they finally arrived live.
I do not think it is a good point to rest upon by expecting them to talking about Bitcoin at every courses of their discussions.
Actually Elon initiated the ideal to interview Trump in splitting about his electoral pursue as the US presidential candidate.

So they were more emphasizing on the US political and economy interests which is actually working without the implications of Bitcoin so, the mentioned of Bitcoin at their discussion would contradict their motive.

Besides... Bitcoin has not been a front liner for them both because it is not their personal inventory to must be discussed about at every courses of their discussions. They are only big Bitcoin whales and not that they overrules Bitcoin as a governing bodies.

The only reason that thing exists is because Trump and the white supremacists got kicked off Twitter. Now it has zero reason to exist and Musk is simply advertising that fact using this high-profile PR stunt.

Truth social was never actually a major rival in the eyes of Musk and Twitter/X, in my opinion. Actually, people have not moved to alternative social media like Threads or truth social because most of the users have already built an story and a career there using their own personal Twitter account, changing of platform would imply to start all over again, nobody wants that, obviously.
I believe this want not an stunt by Musk to finish off Truth social, but rather a gesture by Trump for Musk for becoming a major donor to his presidential campaign, after the attempted assassination of Trump, It seems logical for me Trump wanted or was forced to show how gratitude to Elon Musk in some way.

Also, the fact they did not seem to mention Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in any way, shape or form during the interview, only shows they have different priorities when  comes to the political scenario in the United States.

* When Musk started talking about climate change, Trump said he was worried about "nuclear warming" and went on a bizarre, world-salad tangent about the nuclear arms race. When Musk tried to get the conversation back on track, assuming he was talking about nuclear power, Trump corrected him and reiterated that he was talking about nuclear weapons.

People have the right to choose what they want to discuss, and you can't question them for their actions. Trump used the Bitcoin conference to discuss or propose his plans for the crypto industry. Maybe he has another agenda to discuss in this interview. Come to think of it, are both of them genuinely interested in cryptocurrencies? The answer is no. Trump is using cryptocurrencies as a political tool to gain financial support and votes. While Elon Musk is well known for pumping shitcoins for his selfish interest. If you expect notable individuals to always discuss the issue of Bitcoin and others, Trump and Musk are the wrong people.

This shows how important the network effect is. It is also the reason why bitcoin has a huge advantage over its competitors. Having the biggest network effect surely doesn't make bitcoin or twitter invincible because there are also failures like MySpace, ICQ, Nokia and MSN Messager... They had a big head start too but they lost in the end because they made so many mistakes one after another.

Truth never had that advantage and its failure was expected.

Trump made a smart move by returning to Twitter.

It also marked the second time Musk suffered a setback while trying to launch a highly attended X Space with a presidential candidate.

Apparently Elon blamed DDoS attack for technical difficulties while rest of the site worked just fine.

Just days ago their top engineer and techops lead (Mark Kalman and Melissa Merencillo) resigned, and now musk gives an explanation for technical difficulties that pretty much underlines how he doesn't understand how DDos works. One could be skeptic about product safety of his other companies while he tries to cut costs and corners.

I know that it might seem controversial to some when i say that Musk doesn't know what he is talking about, or that he isn't smart, but he really isn't. Musk doesn't speak like geniuses, or even like smart people do. He avoids hard subjects and is being vague instead of being detailed and expanding the subject. Being rich isn't any kind of proof either because right circumstances, predatory personality type and slightly above average IQ are enough for that.

But he is smart enough how to manipulate Trump (which is basically just pandering and pleasing him), because he wants that trump traffic back to xitter, and for me, that's just embarrassing to listen to. So i skipped this interview.

Imho this doesn't help him in any way, and whole xitter is pretty much done. People were leaving just before this for Threads in masses, because of musk and because his inflammatory civil war comment. And instead of owning his actions and consequences of them, he is suing advertisers leaving xitter, yet his users are the ones leaving for Threads.

I closed my only inactive temp account while back, and that had ~50 bot followers. In Threads i have so far encountered zero bots, and it's too "woke" for standard xitter user, so i am happy if that far right crowd stays away and everyone wins.

This interview didn't help him, or his companies.

Many people expected both of them to discuss about crypto whether they are genuinely interested or not in it. I am aware that they both have their own personal reasons for being associated with crypto which is why I expected them to take advantage of the platform and the occasion to further strengthen their image of being interested with crypto

I see many X users who predicted bitcoin to rise after the conversation because they expected Trump and Elon to at least mention it, but they did not. I wonder how bitcoin enthusiasts who think that Trump is genuinely interested in crypto thinks now?
