If gambling continues to increase with big occasions, it is worth reflecting on how that might impact your general mood and experience. If you gamble on the run-up to something important, the result can affect how you feel about yourself and your emotions and feelings about the future. Success gives you confidence and morale boost, but defeat may leave you depressed or disappointed before an event so take only what you can risk. On the other hand, to bet after an important event will save you from being distracted or emotionally influenced by the outcome of your game, you can experience it without the potential pressure of satisfaction affecting your experience. Is there is an important occasion, I would not gamble around that time. Because the outcome of the gamble may be good or bad, mostly bad, I would not want it to be the reason to spoil my mood in the occasion.

Not being able to control this means you are addicted to gambling and it is not just a "having fun" thing.

No not really. Now if I lose a gamble FOR an important occasion then yes. But if it was an event completely irrelevant to the bet, then I don't think why it should even relate. Yes, it can spoil my mood but I don't think I'd consider it bad enough to the point where I'd consider my entire day ruined. That's just... a sad way to live the day lol.

But anyway, if I were to pick, definitely after. I mean I don't think I would even gamble in the first place during the mornings, usually only at the after hours when everythings done in my day.

It has been a rare case I have experienced my mood changing to gambling all because I had a loss or won bet. Since I normally prefer gambling in my leisure time, I don't usually lay much emphasis on gambling that I must win before quitting gambling for the day. That attitude of gambling in my leisure time has embedded in me not to focus too much on gambling results in bets when I have an event to attend thereafter. Even if I decide to gamble before going for an occasion, I don't think it will affect my attitude for the day because I normally set aside little money I can afford to lose. That step alone helps to keep my mood in check not to go bet beyond my limits or get moved by emotions to gamble to recover my losses before stopping gambling

Actually before there my special occasion begins, I always gamble because it's one way to entertain myself in short time. If you avoid to gambling before special occasion or something serious, you should ask yourself whether you gamble for fun or money.

It will depend on what you are gambling for: if you are gambling for fun and to pass the time, that is, without a clear strategy, but only to spend a small amount of money on slots (if you are lucky, then good, and if not, then the loss is not great), then I don't see anything bad. But if the goal is to increase your deposit, then the upcoming important event may interfere with concentrating on tactics, which may prevent you from achieving your goals.

Those who don't gamble just for fun possibly as a means of income or those who took gambling too serious will never attend any important occasions before gambling and even if they attend they will never stay till the ends of the occasion probably they might even gamble with an amount that they can not afford to lose hence they will prioritize gambling other than any other activities within such time frame. However, with the experience that are are being shared here I have really learnt alot including gambling with only an amount that I can be able to afford to lose and just seeing gambling as a game and nothing to be taken too serious in other not to be emotionally devasted when things goes in the opposite direction. Answering your questions, as for me I can gamble before and after any important occasions without being bothered either in winning or Lossing because I stick my roles.

I am a social gambler and if the occasion calls for gambling then I would do it. If not then I would not gamble as I do not do gambling but betting in cricket.

I gambling when ever I want because I gambling for fun although at times I can gamble because I want to double my money. I can gamble before or after an occasion. Since I play more of sport betting and football to be precise, I always have to gamble before I go to an occasion or after I come back depending on when the matches are being played because the games get played during the weekend more. Occasional I gamble while in the occasion because to book a game does not take much time because I can do that on my mobile phone unnoticeable. It was before or after the occasion. But actually, for me, I have no issue with that. I mean, I can gamble anytime because I know how to control my emotions. As long as we don't spend too much time gambling and know our limits, I think we should be fine. Regardless of how you view gambling, whether it's just for fun or a way to make money, it's very important to understand that it isn't our life and should not affect important occasions in our life. We play with numbers and should not invest emotions in it.

Yes, I try to take a break from gambling before an important event. Because if I lose before an important event, my mood may change. Though I don't bet more than I can afford to lose. I try not to bet before a specific event. And when I place a bet I don't worry about winning or losing. I think if luck favors me I can definitely win. Besides win or lose anything can happen. But what I have seen with other gamblers is that they place bets before a particular event. They think that if they can win at that time then they can spend more for that particular occasion or event.

Hmm... It is really a decision of having deep breaths before deciding. Funny enough that it has been some terms by which we passes through aser keep to gamble but making it as options as this seems a food for thought because a lot has to be considered.

Knowing that if you are so emotional when you looses or wins your bets, any of the options would really have effect on you because when you gambles and looses before adhering to your important events, it could ruin the rest of the day for you and when you wins, you would fell excited all through the event duration if not even for the whole day.

The occurance of the event could portray some of technical thoughts to make better decisions or could ridicule our decision as we set to gamble afterwards but depends on the resultant of the event.

I had a teacher who was a big fan of a football team and, looking at his face on Mondays, we knew if the team won or lost the match on Sunday. I don't know if he gambled or not, but some people's mood can be heavily impacted by such events, so I agree that they should be careful and not gamble hard before an important occasion.

In my case, I don't worry a lot about my bets. I don't put on stake great amounts either, so I can afford to be with my family or friends in a special occasion and see the notification that I lost a bet. It will impact me for a few seconds and I'll forget about the loss fast.

Usually I don't actually gamble when there's important occasion that will happen in next day. Since I don't want to spoil the fun and get stress on situation if I lose my bets. So to avoid getting those negative vibes and possibly to bring positive spirit on occasion I decide to pay attention first on the event since we can gamble anyway after everything is done.

But I know some people doesn't care about the events and could able to gamble. I see them doing fine and I think having negative effect will always depends to the person on how they handle the situation. Does the important occasion include an exam, a wedding party, graduation party, funerals, national holidays, a conference presentation? These are all important occasions for me and gambling is not the top on my priority whenever these events are near because there are so many crucial  things to plan that I don't even think about gambling. I may decide to gamble after the event but then it has nothing to do with my mood at that time.

Losing at gambling do makes us upset but if the loss is bearable then it won't impact us very much.

I gamble whenever I want, whether in good or bad mood or if after or before an occassion. It doesn't matter specially if I don't want to miss a match that I like the teams or players that are going to play.

I also gamble for fun. But I like to gamble more after events that make me happy. I think I feel more hopeful at such times. And my mind is more relaxed. I don't usually gamble before important events. Because I don't believe that I can make the right decisions when I'm nervous. I try to be in tune with my mood. That's what I usually do. Important occasion. That tells it all. It is too important that we don't want to do anything but only focus on that occasion. Let's say it's my kid's birthday and it will be held in my house or an event room. Would you really gamble first before the big event? I don't think so.
By doing that, there's a chance that you will be stressed out when you are losing and it's not a good thing especially if you want your kid to be happy because it will be added to his memories.
Do you really want to be remembered as a Dad who is frowning, stressed, frustrated, and regretful? You don't want that because somewhere in the future it might go back to you.
