My parents never believed in this and didn't support me. I understand them because this isn't their era, and they thought all of it was a scam. They never wanted to support me in investing, but I understand and don't hold it against them. If you compare it to precious metals or the stock market...bitcoin is like a newborn baby. Not to mention, even though it has become more popular, what percentage of the population knows about it and invests in it? As far as I know, less than 10% of the world's population has invested in it and if you ask around how many people have invested in it, you will find that it is still a new asset class that many people are not aware of.

Many people think that investing in gold has become outdated because it is almost saturated and does not have much volatility. Likewise, if bitcoin is no longer new, then it means people were right when they said it was too late to invest in bitcoin. If you are earning enough money, from your salaries and not depend on your parents for extra money and you know that after paying your bills you have cash left over for investment, I advice you buy bitcoin and hold for at least 3-5 year's to see how much profits you will have accumulated by that time.
But if you still depend on your parents for anything, that means your cash flow may not be enough and the burden will still be on the parents which justify their stance on the matter.

Honestly the fear of his parents are simply there are believe system of some people especially must old parents who has refused to adapt to learning new things, some people don't believe that certain knowledge of things will increase they feel whatever that has to do with online is scam, they are only being conscious of their son not to fall in to scam, they are not seeing any possibilities of a positive outcome especially then he was just 16, even thou their is no age limitations but it is better now that he 18 which makes him to take responsibilities of is action anf reactions, but yeah if only he doesn't completely rely on his parents or family members for his up keep surely he can can invest in Bitcoin with his disposable income after ensuring he also has the plans of building an emergency funds to ensure consistency through the DCA strategy of accumulating Bitcoin.

You have made a good decision to learn, what will brighter your future because there is no way you will start accumulating BTC at this age, when you will not succeed in the nearest future. I entered the cryptocurrencies world in 2017 when Bitcoin had just begun to make headlines in news media and its price reached more than 17,000 dollars. Looking back, I believe I had made the right decision, as it has brought positive change to my financial life.

At first I was also afraid because I have been scammed many times online. And it was a seminar that I new about bitcoin first but at that time, the instructor didn't mention bitcoin but cryptocurrency and based on some challenges, I left the move to join the link and in 2021 I was introduced to this forum and my bitcoin knowledge became full again. Op you have to face challenges in your life and not hoping on anyone. I guess everyone here felt afraid to invest in bitcoin at first knowing it's a highly risky asset. You are absolutely right that awareness about Bitcoin is low, according to some estimates only 10-15% population of the world understands Bitcoin, while 60-70% have heard about it. Spreading knowledge and understanding of its utility as method of payment and a precious assets for long term investment  about Bitcoin is a challenging task for institutions those have massively invested in it.

However, I am pretty sure this awareness will grow with the passage of time as governments will progress towards its regulatory framework for adoption.
