How do I go about configuring electrum node to work with Robostat and maintain anonymity? Where do I get the node?
Is the process the same regardless of OS? It's for linux in my case. Thanks in advance.

I don't use "RoboSats" (typo? or you actually meant "Robostat"?)
But there's a requirement written in their compatibility list that you can only use ACINQ's node when creating a channel, here: https://learn.robosats.com/docs/wallets/#electrum-mobile--desktop
That said, select "ACINQ" when creating a channel since it's conveniently included as one of Electrum's hard-coded trampoline nodes.
If other lightning nodes can be used, you'll have to disable "Use trampoline routing" in your "Tools->Preferences->Lightning" to be able to manually type any remote node.

As for your anonymity, that may require an entirely different topic since it requires you to setup your own Electrum server.
There's absolutely no privacy in using any Public Electrum server even if you setup and use Tor to connect.
Look for various "...own server" threads in Electrum board since AFAIK, there are tons of those there: /index.php?board=98.0

And please clarify: "Electrum node"
Do you mean "Electrum client", "Electrum server" or "Electrum trampoline node".
But the latter is owned by an Electrum developer.

Robostat.

Is there a cost involved in using ACINO's lighting nodes?
Where do I sign up for lighting node?
Should I download it onto my own machine?

Do you mean "Electrum client", "Electrum server" or "Electrum trampoline node".
But the latter is owned by an Electrum developer.
By Electrum client you mean Electrum wallet, if yes, then I have one. As for Electrum server" or "Electrum trampoline node", I don't have either, which should I choose for anonymity sake?

The cost is just the on-chain transaction fee involved in opening the channel, it's not a custodial service so you wont be signing up to something.
However, the bitcoins used to fund the channel wont be available to spend on-chain (min depends on the remote node) and will be shown as part of your lightning balance (yellow) below.
You can use it to send bitcoins through lightning network.

You also wont be able to receive through lightning until you gain inbound liquidity by either using it to send on lightning normally or use "reverse-swap" in 'lightning to on-chain Bitcoin' swap or exchange services.
You can see that in your 'Channels' tab top noted as "Can receive: n BTC".

For more info: Electrum Lightning Network walkthrough

By Electrum client you mean Electrum wallet, if yes, then I have one. As for Electrum server" or "Electrum trampoline node", I don't have either, which should I choose for anonymity sake?
Those aren't options.

"Electrum server" is basically the servers that you can select in your Electrum client's network setting.
Creating your own private Electrum server ensures that you're not entrusting your wallet's privacy to "someone" (a public Electrum server owner)
"Electrum Trampoline Node" is just one of Electrum's hard-coded lightning node for when you want to create a channel with trampoline routing.

I brought up those terms because of your odd term "Electrum node"

I don't use "RoboSats" (typo? or you actually meant "Robostat"?)
Robostat.
I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the service.
