Hey Bitcointalk community,

As we all know, the crypto world is constantly changing, and figuring out the best ways to maximize returns is always on everyone's mind. With DeFi platforms booming and staking programs becoming more popular, a lot of us are wondering: Is staking or trading the better way to go? Which one will give you the best returns?

The best that you can do is hold. But not that you will just start to hold. Make research and start to hold good coins like bitcoin after a long term massive bear market.

Staking is good but you need to consider the coin also. But you will need to use the holding approach that I explained above for staking also because staking is similar to holding as you are not be selling the coin for a long time. But be careful of many coins, especially those with very high APR.

Trading is very risky and I can not advice people to go for it. It is an impatient way of looking for money which takes money, time and energy from someone as the person give trading more time resulting to losses of money. If you are not patient, you can not trade. Trading is also not for everyone.

With DeFi platforms booming and staking programs becoming more popular, a lot of us are wondering: Is staking or trading the better way to go? Which one will give you the best returns?

When it comes on staking programs then you would really be needing to leave those coins on a platform or on the time that you would really be delegating just because of those appealing APY/R's on which you would really be having thoughts that it is really that something that less risky on which its true since you arent that doing trading or dealing up with volatile coins but the hidden risks involved since we know that there's no assurance that it will really be that last forever. We do know that there are exchange hacks or those possible exploits on which it could cause up that lose of investment or parked coins/tokens. If you could be able to bare up with the risk then it would really be just that depending on you whether you do choose on staking or delegating or not for extra coins. Cant really be able to deny that when it comes to less risk

If you are someone whose really that wanting to have that passive income some sort then this would really be your option but it will really be only just that having sense or could be able to feel up the profits
on the moment that you do invest a significant amount rather than on wasting up your time on putting up a small amount but well it would really be just that depending on you.

Well in my own opinion, as long as cryptocurrency generally is concerned, the best way to maximize profit is buying and holding, because in such a senerio, you will not lose as long as you don't sell, and it's only buying and holding I can recommend to a newbie, because I don't really fancies staking due to the poor income it usually generate and how risky your funds will be when it will be in your exchange account for that long, but as for trading, no doubt it's the most lucrative of them all, but it's the most dangerous to a newbie, because in as much as you can make a whole lot of money in a very short period of time, you can also lose a whole lot of money in a very short period of time if things goes against you, so in essence of what am trying to say is that  staking and trading  is not as ideal as it seems to a newbie, but buying and holding of Bitcoin is way much better than any of those you listed down here.

Lastly, concerning buying and holding, though I won't advice anyone to invest in alt or shit coin, but if you are hell bent on gambling your hard earned money on alt or shit coin, then I advice you should invest only what you can afford to lose, so that it wouldn't have significant impact on your finances if things went south.

If I have the ability of flexible stacking, then I lose nothing by it but in overall I prefer to trade. At the moment, I have the great opportunity to buy Matic because it's very undervalued and wait for a year to see how far it will grow. At the moment it costs 0.37$ and it's ATH was 3$. I believe that this coin will reach and surpass it's ATH again, so I'll make 10x profit at least. Is there any stacking program that will give me 1000% investment back? No, so I'll trade with the coin.
When you trade, you have to catch the best moments, not every moment. Stability comes with the lowest reward.

It varies on how much capital and knowledge you have. So, no one can really give you an accurate answer per se because we have different experiences and amount of capitals that we can stake and as well as play along with trading. But if you are a fan of passive income then just go with staking. You don't have to battle against the market with other traders winning each other's money. So, you gonna be chill and cool by staking your funds to the chosen platform and crypto you have.

The common one is by putting it on exchanges to get some incentives too but that's quite risky because you won't be holding your coin there. You don't have the keys so that's what you have to understand. Otherwise, choose platforms that you trust. And if you're a good trader, obviously you'd choose that and as a reminder, don't get into the too high APRs.

I believe that trading is for long-time investment opportunities while staking is more for short-time run. However, you should pay attention to new projects because I considered staking by myself and Ethereum gives only 3%, it makes more sense for me. Yesterday, I run into a project called Waterfall, they offer about 150% APR. If you are interested, you can check: https://waterfall.network/individuals#statistics_block

Some people might think that staking is a safe play, but TBH staking is not safe to play at all, and even if the returns on the investment are also minimal, staking really cant be compared to the potential trading returns over a small time frame and long time frame. No doubt that trading is much much superior in returns and funds safety as well, with staking you also risk your funds in a pool.

The comparison should be between long-term investors and a short-time-frame trader's returns because these two classes are worthy to be compared staking is a completely different concept even if you choose the highest-paying staking pool, you can't beat trading in returns as the crypto market is volatile and highest possible returns in staking can end up being a loss due to market price of assets you've staked.

With DeFi platforms booming and staking programs becoming more popular, a lot of us are wondering: Is staking or trading the better way to go? Which one will give you the best returns?

First let’s distinguish between the two types of trading we have, the first is the spot trading which is mostly regarded as investing, you simply buy the coin and withdraw to your wallet and then hodl for as long as you want, this to me is the safest form of crypto trading as you can be able to do what you want with the coins anytime and most importantly you’re in total possession of it rather than leaving it on exchanges.

Then we have the futures or derivatives or perpetual trading which involves trading with leverages, this to me seems the most risky of them all most especially if you lack proper knowledge, you can easily get liquidated in few minutes since it is mostly a thing of prediction and you still need to leave the coins on the exchange you’re trading on which is another security concern.

Then staking which is in the middle of the two above, it needs you to leave a certain coin for a certain period of time and then the coin will generate APR, this might sound the best because you are not going to do anything but will be earning, but to me it is not, it is very risky. First you need to hold the certain coin which itself has potential to dump and I am not a fan of holding to shitcoins so when it dumps even the returns wound be useless. Secondly is the risk of leaving your funds on centralized exchanges for some time, I don’t think the APR is actually worth the risk of holding the coin and leaving it on exchanges too.

No, so I'll trade with the coin.

Matic might be a good buy but seriously I am skeptical of it reaching its ATH back again in this circle, the seem to be having trouble, first most people have begin to lose interest in this L2 blockchain which promises to scale the Ethereum blockchain as they aren’t leaving up to the hype most especially this polygon chain, they had a migration from the ticker POL to Matic and Now back to POL again, they need to focus on other areas than just Tickers, although I believe it will recover in the upcoming bullish period but for now I don’t want to over estimate so a $3 is looking high to me

Staking can be a good option for earning some passive income, especially on established projects. Sure, 3% on Ethereum might not seem like a ton, but it can add up over time, especially if you're holding a decent amount. Plus, it's generally considered a lower-risk strategy than trading.

Trading can be lucrative, but it also requires a lot more effort and carries a higher risk of loss. Personally, I wouldn't recommend jumping into something super high APR like that 150% Waterfall project without doing some serious research. Those super high returns often come with super high risks. It's important to understand the project, its tokenomics, and the potential downsides before putting any money in.

The answer relies on your preference. Trading is good if you want an aggressive investment style since you can earn more with incorporate risk involved while staking gives you fixed profit but small return with minimal risk.

I preferred staking if I have huge amount of capital that I’m not willing to exposed to high risk and separate some funds for trading. Never put all your capital on trading especially on crypto that has high volatility.

In short, Staking is the best if you want less risky investment but with low return while trading is the opposite.

I am not touch DeFi platforms and only focus to saves more Bitcoin. But if you thinks that is work for you, you can continue that but you must be careful because we don't know what will happen to DeFi. I think trading will be better way to make money but you must have skill to do that.

Trading can be for a short time run if you use daily or weekly trade. If you have a good skills in trading, you can make that profit. But for staking, I think you can do that for a medium and long term because you should collect the reward for some amount but you still need to wait for the price increases.

Be careful with the offers that looks too good to be true because many of those projects becomes scam. Make sure you research before you join with them so you don't waste your money. If you want, you just need to hold Bitcoin and accumulate it to have more Bitcoin.
