Well, it's choice of the gamblers to either go for e-sports betting or for real sports betting. Both of those work for some people, while there's chance that the ones who prefer virtual games might get losses due to low amount of research available but if someone really understand's a player or team and knows their potential then such gambler can win some bets in e-sport betting. Although both can be addictive, depending on the individual's preference, I think virtual games are more addictive and dangerous to a gambler's life if not played responsibly. Here's my reason.

Virtual games which are played on the computer are always available 24/7. If a gambler decides to place bets everyday, he can make his wish come true because the virtual games are always available for him. This is not so for real life sporting events where games/matches are fixed at intervals. No matter how addicted he might be to real life sporting events, he will have no choice but to wait till the next match is fixed or played.

I have not participated in many virtual games. But i can definitely say that there is a wide difference between virtual games and the live sports games. It's not like everyone gets easily addicted to virtual games. Gambler can addicted both of the platform. I would assume "virtual" gambling easy.  At least here in the United States, when it comes to watching sports, while we love to go in person, most only do so once in a while as being at home with a massive advanced television where you can see everything better and you've go the ease of just whipping out your phone or laptop and easily placing your trades.
