I don't think it is completely about someone having a criminal mindset, but rather it is a matter of ambition and seeking to lead others and reach a higher status. See, in the world there are people who become criminals and they do not have a political career whatsoever, neither are trying to get one.

The situation you described above is what I have witnessed several times in my country's politics. That is the reason I have given up in my country's politics and politicians that any good thing cannot come from them.

I have seen moderately honest people in the society who turned criminals, liars and looters immediately they join politics and become leaders. I think they all belong to a certain occult where they swear not to be honest and kind today people they rule. This is the reason I have given up on politics in my country.

Politics seems to corrupt almost every person who becomes a politician. What came first though, the chicken or the egg? Were they criminals before or after they became a serving politician. They are all liars who only have interests in using their position to like their own pockets. I do not trust any of them, I am yet to see a good, honest politician.
