It's just another phenomenon that gamblers often assumes that they have some control over the outcome of their bets especially if they have been doing it for a while even though every time is just purely random there's no skill involved. Take dice for an example we might assume that we can control and influence the result of it by throwing softer or harder or in anyway that our brain recognize a pattern and keep tells us it's a way to win the game. So let's discuss about it.

It’s always certain 99% of gamblers trust the process and that’s normal personally when I started gambling I had this thought I can win every game unknowingly gambling is not for the weak. I will not consider a confident gambler as a controversial gambler, there’s no doubt we can win always likewise lose it’s just unpredictable but, let’s not allow the emotions get to our mental health whereby we feel in charge. Dice game is always like that and it has favored a lot of people who practice daily, strategy is needed for most games I think that’s where the control comes from.

I used to know a croupier and he told me that they were taught special methods of shuffling the cards to maximize the probability of a good deal for the casino. He also said that they were trained to throw the ball into the right sector on roulette. I do not know if this is all true, but I admit that this is possible in some land-based casinos. By the way, many croupiers are forbidden to gamble in casinos where they work. Maybe they really have more skills than the average gambler so for them control is not an illusion? And if so, that experience can be passed on to someone else.

The illusion of control does exist and yes, they do some ways by considering it as a skill that they have. But unfortunately, they also do not always win with the way they think is a control that they apply in gambling. There are so many gambling games and for me, all of these games basically  require luck to be able to win, because if you think you can win with skill and control then you should be able to get rich from gambling, but in reality more gamblers experience defeat and worse makes their social life bad too.

It is worth pointing out, that illusion of control usually appears when the gambler is having a winning spree and good luck in on his side, to the point they are able to withdraw a significant amount of money before continuing to gamble for the rest of their session.As we know, the illusion will sooner or later be broken by the laws of chances kicking in and making the gambler to start losing money at a very fast pace, leading to losses.

I hate to admit that I used to have this kind of delusion in the past when I am experiencing a winning streak, what comes along with it is that I get so cocky that I'd increase my bet and be more reckless which would usually end on me quickly losing my balance and trying to chase the loses back. luckily it was all in the past and I realised how stupid I was with that kind of mindset.
