Backfired... his own ratings went to -1425 in less than 24 hours.  Still a lot lower than it actually should be given the theft he has presided over.

As did mine unfortunately, caught in the crossfire. There's a thread in meta, but there should really be one here temporarily for visibility.

Unbelievable.

Did Theymos authorise this experiment ?? explicitly targeting 2 valuable users!?

Pretty low... Josh you're a douche!

Oh and start shipping, again you're months late.

I can't say I care much for the trust system here, but doesn't the fact that he would have this contest flaw BFL's own trust system because its fluffing up 3 of his accounts with fake unique positive feedbacks?  Do we believe he is intending on removing them after the contest?

And if this were just an experiment/demonstration, why the need for unique comments each day?  Cheesy

Yes and no, he authorised an experiment but didn't know what it involved. Seems happy to let others to sit in the crossfire now though :s

He asked me whether he could demonstrate that the Trust system is broken. I said that he could, though I didn't know exactly what he was planning, and I don't like what he's doing here. Trust isn't the right way to respond to people whose posts you dislike. If I'd have known that he was going to do this, I would have warned him that it would probably result in significant backlash...

I'm happy with the performance of the Trust system here so far. I have a few more default-untrusted negative ratings, but Inaba's default trust score went from ~5 to -261 overnight. (I did not change anything about how the Trust system works for this.)

BFL keeps sinking lower and lower.  you would think a company that is way behind in order fulfillment would focus more on the task at hand.  Not really sure why this company is still around...are there products even relevant anymore ?

Perhaps I missed something, but they take a shot at DOGIE, calling him a "troll"...last I checked DOGIE is the guy that took the time to compose "how to" instructions for setting up Cubes & Antminer S1's (thank you).  I think those 2 products pretty much took BFL out of the game.

all things aside, don't you think BFL should be focusing it's attention on order fulfillment and responding to the numerous messages from it's customers rather than this crap ? (BFL) is there really nothing on the inventory shelves to be shipped  that you have time to concern yourself whether or not "TRUST" can be manipulated ?  I think BFL wrote the book on trust manipulation, "IN STOCK, SHIPPING IMMEDIATELY"....."WILL SHIP IN AUG, SEPT, OCT, NOV, DEC, JAN, FEB, MARCH, APRIL...etc".   BFL deserves all that folks say about them and more.

Looks like Kano is angling for more free hardware vapourware from BFL?

Ethically challenged people stick together. If you find nothing wrong with the ethics of BFL on this and combine that with ignoring their total lack of business ethics and economic damage they have done to thousands then you are part of the problem Kano. The premise that BFL is attempting to prove the flaws in the system of trust ratings seems a lot more than disingenuous given the fact they picked the targets that benefit BFL. What their experiment proved is many people hate BFL and rightly distrust them. You don't get that sort of reaction without some justification.

Disgusting. Something about bitcoin brings out the inner crooks in people. Hope some justice is served here.

The best justice that could be served. TRO on his BTC wallets so that people asking for refunds can get paid. Here is hoping that someone learned from those that are trying to do that to HASHFAST accounts and applies it to BFL. The only justice here would be for BFL to fold after they pay back what they took from hardworking people.
