Thank you all for your suggestion.. unfortunately trezor doesn't have an option to ship to the country i am residing rn and i contacted them about it, they told me it is due to all the restrictions and what not and told me to buy it off of amazon. Will it be a good idea to do that?

i'd like to ask how safe it is to use a mobile wallet since someone mentioned about it in the post! I always forget my password so is there a device i can use that encrypts it and seed phrase so i don't need to worry about those at all?

BTC Hi, i am not new to crypto but i slowly gathered up a decent protofolio and i recently had an issue with my old phone that has authentication installed so i had to go through alot of hoops and whatnot to recover my wallet in exchange! After this stressful experience, i am looking for options and thinking about getting a hardware wallet. I can't decide on which to go for and i don't need those fancy ones that looks like a cellphone , rather a compact one that does the job but also secures my asset.
I wish that HW manufacturers (as well as buyers: I mention buyers because it is buyers who "vote" with their wallets) would hold the same opinions as the highlighted text. A HW should perform its functions well, and not be a means of bragging, like the new iPhone (or Ledger Stax).

I'd appreciate if anyone can recommend me some hardware wallets out there and explain why.. preferably people that owns em and can share their end of experience. Thank you! [/b]
Which one to choose, have already been told in the comments above. On my own behalf, I can only add that which HW you should not buy is the product of Ledger company. Smiley Just don't ask, trust this advice. Smiley If, however, you insist on details, then in the Hardware wallets section you will easily find discussions with an explanation of the reasons. While the Trezor "has not gotten into any trouble", as their closest competitor, their devices remain a good solution for your question based on the ratio of price and reliability.

"Is it actually wise to get a hardware wallet?" - it becomes wise the moment you start asking this question.

Only if you'll be ordering it from one of their "official Amazon stores" and you can follow the steps on "this page" to check for the authenticity of Trezor Safe 3.
- FWIW, I prefer to go with one of their "official resellers" that have a brick-and-mortar store so I can pay in cash, but if you're not worried about privacy stuff, then the above option isn't that bad.

Aegis is a good application for 2FA but there are some others too
I would not experiment much with 2FA apps and Aegis is good enough.
KeePass app can also be used for saving 2FA, but it's main purpose is to save login information and generate passwords.

Don't buy any hardware wallets from amazon, unless it's sold by official store of manufacturer.
You can also check all Trezor resellers, and see if you can find more options for purchase:

It's not safe if you are using hot wallets, but using mobile wallet in combination with hardware wallet is good because nothing is stored on the phone.

A guideline and discussion about using one smart phones as cold storage.

You mean he would have to bring his hardware wallet with him, and when he wants to make a payment making a transaction with the hardwallet? it won't be very convenient, in addition he couldn't even make payment through LN while it usually needed when you want to make a payment IRL. Besides that he could lose his HW device in the streed or being  robbed. I think it's more convenient to just hold small amounts of funds into his hotwallet onto his smartphone and keep the main part of his funds into a secure cold wallet IMO
