Can one face competitors in business and still succeed. And how?

I deal on frozen food like chicken, fish, Turkey and others seafood. Then I also sale food stuffs items and provisions.

I do not know much about this market but I can share some tips from my B school study and real world experience in running a different business.

1. Loyalty: in any business loyalty is a very important aspect. Try to find ways to increase customer loyalty. You can provide trial food items as a gift to your customer with every purchase. You can probably keep a payment threshold to make a customer eligible for free gift.

2. Home delivery: I am thinking from the context of my country. Home delivery used to be a big thing here. However some companies understood that and started offering free home delivery on every order. I am not sure if it works in your country.

3. Quality and hygiene:  in your business, quality and hygiene holds a huge importance. Never appear without mask headgear and gloves in front of your customers.

4. Create a community: ask your customers if they are willing to join in a WhatsApp group where you will keep on posting offers on a regular basis. You will also need to use that group for product updates. Building a community takes time but worth every effort.

5. Pleasing behaviour: Be a customer pleaser. You know for a fact that your consumers are the king. Your behaviour makes a lot of difference.

6. Build wholesale network: do not only rely on retail consumers. Start visiting your local restaurants and offer then some trial item to prove your great quality and hygiene. Take small orders and deliver on it. I am sure restaurants you will open up for bigger order if you maintain your consistency.

Your and goal should be increasing the customer base. Take every complaint seriously and revert on it. Never allow a single question to go unanswered.

Most businesses are very common and you might find yourself in a whole lot of competition with other people, but don't get frustrated about this because it's completely normal. The only thing that can make you stand out is being unique and exceptional. A friend of mine once told me that she wants to start a pos business but she gets discouraged sometimes and her reason for feeling that way is due to the fact that it's a business that so many people are into and she doubts if she would make any progress with it, then I gave her an idea, I said instead of waiting for customers to walk down to your shop why not make your pos mobile, I told her she can tell her customers to call her at any time to bring cash to wherever they are as long as it's within the city, people can sit in the comfort of their home without going out to withdraw, this something that would ease their stress. The way to succeed is simply to do something different.

You just need to be creative, make something unique and if they copy your idea it just means that your idea is great.
Customer would comeback to you if you have clean business place, care for your customer, good product and of course the price.
I think being copied is normal for most business nowadays, if you want to survive you need to have a way to make sure that the customers would surely comes back to you.

You know it would be tough to compete with a similar business, especially if it is within the same vicinity and caters to the same people. They would most likely overlap each other and fight for the same people over and over again.

To overcome this, you need to be more innovative in your approach and keep the customer base happy so that they will come back to you and not go to the competitor. Taking care of your customers would be the best approach because it will go a long way toward letting people know they are in good hands if they go to your business.

As a businessman, you must know how to strategize in business because competition is something that cannot be avoided. The goal is for your business to be superior to competitors. When someone else sets up the same business in your area, it cannot be called envy because everyone has the right to choose their own path with the experience they have. You must be ready to face every challenge in order to survive the heat of competition, everyone has their own goals, as long as competitors do not attack you personally, it means you must be ready to compete healthily.

There is no better job than business whether it is small or big business. I think you work with hard work and interest, and one day you will excel if you do anything else, then with this money, you can only support yourself and not fulfill your desires if it will block its way.  So it will be called envy, because if it was working and another spoiled its work, then its envy was helping it. But you cannot act unless you have humanity.  For example, no work does not bring profit or any other problem, for all these we must be prepared and take time patiently but If you work hard and use your brain, you can achieve success Otherwise you will earn only for food and not for fulfillment of desires.

This is unavoidable, and it exist in reality, If you're business is doing great and some business minded people see that you are in monopoly of a business, they will challenge you and try to take a big share of the market.
You should welcome competition in your business this is so you can upgrade your business to better serve your existing customers.
A true businessman welcomes competition so they can become better in that business because if you have a monopoly of one industry or business, you tend to take your customers for granted and will not grow or expand your business.

There is a proverb in my place that says "two people planting rice in the same place with the same quality of rice, will be able to produce different results" from this we can conclude that even though there are people who have the same idea as you and do business in the same place or even next to your business, but if you are sure about what you are doing, then it will not be a problem. Because in business to determine whether someone is successful is not only the location or business idea, but also how the service is, business strategy, innovation, fortune, and many other factors. So don't be afraid if there is someone doing business in your place, just do what you can and keep looking for innovation to develop your business.

I just checked your account and I wanted to ask you but then I realized you haven't be long here but I'm going to explain something within this forum which is the Casino business in this forum. There are many casino platform that has been on this forum since it's early days but despite that, other casinos came and they were able to dominate the forum and capture every space of signature in the Forum and they are still functioning to date even when others has stopped, they never stop.

If you want to win in business and you are new, you have to do something other existing business are not doing. Some casinos here are doing art contest and even raffle just to spice up participants to keep their casino in their mind and there by making people use their casino. You can do similar thing to entise your customers so that even though they see similar thing they need on another place, they will first considered you unless you don't have it.

I personally feel that when we are in a business competition, it would be better to emphasize the characteristics and services because in the end this can also be an important factor because in the end consumer comfort sometimes provides a separate market for a business.

I still do that because for now I am still doing business in fast food even though it is only a small scale but in the end there is still a lot of competition, especially since I live in a fairly remote area so there must be people who copy the food or what I sell as a form of competition. But in the end when we have applied our own characteristics in the business that we do and do small things such as prioritizing service, cleanliness of the place and comfort in the end I can still survive and compete with other business people because in the end to become a competitor we have to pay attention to several things not only about quality but also quantity so that our consumers are safe and comfortable when they are in the place or buy the products we sell.

You shouldn't be bothered by someone doing exactly the same business that you're doing in the same location because sometimes, that's a blessing in disguise and not necessary a bad thing. Haven't you seen Coca-Cola and Pessi or any other soft drinks selling in the same locations. What about supermarket being located in the same environment yet they don't go out of business but the both businesses begins to thrive. Why people choose to copy what others are already doing and making profits is because they're scared to try out new things and they're not entrepreneurs that can take such risk.

Having two businesses in the same area give people the option of choosing between the two of you, who they're going to patronized and not when there's only one business there that they can decide to not buy anything. Don't see every competitor as toxic as you can take full advantage of them to make more money.

That's right, business is certainly something that needs to be developed and with this competition, it makes its personnel have to do their best for their business, besides that, competition in a business in my opinion is a natural thing because if there is no competition in a business, it seems less interesting and also there is likely no lesson that we can take because with this competition indirectly there will be lessons that we can take, this allows us to improve our own skills.

In starting a business you need to consider the budget of course now, what does the community needs its becomes more effective than what others store already have and you want to compete, now if you already mind and picture out what you need you must need to canvas the price of the equipment and the location consider if there's a lot of people nearby walking, tons of business nears on it, so you have an idea if you will become an effective store right there, competitor is normal but you must need to know how to market yourself and your product, the most effective wins and gains profit.

True, how you treat your customers matters a lot. Because, there is no business without competitors. Though I find it weird when you are selling a particular thing and somebody comes right next to you or opposite you to sell that the same thing. But since people do it and it's expected that when you come to a location with something different, sooner or later somebody will join you in that trade, you have to prepare your mind ahead of it, you have to put strategies and plans in place. You have to always up your game, maybe expand your offering or have a unique product that you sell.

 And customer experience is very important, know how to treat your customers, even when they may be wrong, know how to talk to them so it doesn't lead to bad customer experience. Let people in the community know you for something. Let your customers be happy and satisfied with your service. And if you can sell your product at a fairer price than your competitor, then do so.

Competition in business will actually be beneficial or make things more interesting when you are in the customer's shoes because you will be able to buy things at cheaper prices, and have more choices instead of depending on. But if you are in a business position, this is not fun because you will have to spend more time, money and effort to create better products at cheaper prices, come up with new strategies, change your business plan...to avoid being surpassed by competitors. It can be said that businesses are very afraid of competition because it will cause them to lose revenue or worse, go bankrupt.

I don't see it as envy. Everybody else wants to make money same as you. If you discover something that's working, others will definitely follow. Take Bitcoin for example, after it was created and became successful, other people followed by creating their own cryptocurrencies.
What you should learn from this is despite that, none of those currencies have been superior to bitcoin and the reason is because of how good and open for improvement bitcoin is.

I know it's not exactly the same thing on all fronts since the creator of bitcoin didn't create it for profit unlike our business, but we can say altcoins are its competition.
If you start a business in an area and another business which is relatively newer than yours is having more customers or making more money than you, then it means they're doing something you arent doing. Sometimes it could be something that is out of your control to change like te fact that they may have more funding than you, but other times, it can also be things you can work on and improve.

Don't see competition as a bad ting for your business. See it as something that should push you to be better. Be better than your opposition. Invest in ways that you can be better, do research, treat your customers better and have a better relationship with them. Competition will always exist in any business or industry. You are not a true business if you are not competitive. You should believe in your products and services. Not allowing competition will only mean that your product or services is inferior.

Personally i wanna to say that a business idea is the best idea to live freely in my opinion. When you start a business, no one will be responsible here, you will take your business forward in your own way. But I think in order to do business you have to be of that mindset where your customer service is good and your customers are impressed by your manners and behavior and want to come back for a second time.

The quality of your product must be good. If the quality of the product is good, if you can provide good product, then the customer will get better. What you said is actually very reasonable to be understood by every businessman who always has competitors from various thoughts. Because it is quite clear that if there are other businessmen who try to copy a product that we have made before, it has indeed given a sign that our product is the best so that it makes other people motivated to copy it. I also have an understanding that is almost similar to what you said because if a businessman wants his customers not to disappear or go elsewhere. Definitely yes one can face competitors in business and still be successful in it, and I'll explain this with an illustration. My sister use to have a business located in a busy area that would attract customer service more and was the first in that business in that area and was very prominent in her specialty but all of a sudden she got the same street line neighbor offering same service she renders and that's when the competition started, tho it'll be challenging but she had to beat up the fact that she was first in the area of that business before them and this led on to her offering and making sure she met to her customers needs at every given time, so just understand every aspects of the markets to beat up competitors.
