Hi,

I am the developer of leafcoin and apparently i have been banned with my main mcg account.

The reason that i was banned was for unsolicited PM spam.

We have send out some 50 PM messages announcing a new update for our leafcoin client.

The users included were pool owners, faucet owners and perhaps a couple of regular users.

There was nothing malicious or bad intentions in these PMs.

This was the only way to do this since we didnt update the pszMainkeys in alert.cpp and didnt have the litecoin private keys to send out messages.

We changed all that ( and more ) so this would be the last time we do it like this.

So why did i get banned? Since previously there didnt seem to be any problem ( same users, same message, more then month ago ).

Can you lift this ban?

Thank you.

apparently this was/is a mistake yes.

just sending some pvt messages (50) out about updates gets you banned for 14 days.

users appreciated it ( according to their responses ).. but apparently someone found it necessary to report.

we will find other ways.

i am reading about a fee to get unbanned?

how much?

Stop sending unsolicited mass PMs and you wont get reported. Can you imagine if every coin even did this once? You deserve a little nap.

these are all pool owners, games etc... perhaps a few users.

50 is mass? these were all users that messaged me first ( took them from history )

we will never agree with each other.

also i think 2 weeks is quite a penalty

those spamming forum threads get 7 days afaik.

Ask josh/inaba from bfl to get it unbanned as it seems his word is final around getting anything he wants! As he is trying 'expose' the trust system, I'm exposing him as a fraud around here!

I feel sorry for you op, the response is a joke. Go try crtpocoin talk as these maggots around here don't give a shit! That's fact

Disappointing that you got banned but had those people agreed to receive it? if they aren't this is still considered some kind of spam.

well i didnt have explicit permission to send them. however, >70% of them are pool owners, faucet games etc.. they messaged me first about bounties, adding to op post etc etc etc. i think there was nothing wrong with what we did. unfortunately bitcointalk disagrees. we have to live up with their ( sometimes shitty but understandable ) rules.
