Hehehe, this is the type of posts that I have been waiting for, this is a sign though, the moment people start getting bored about altcoins not moving up and people talking shit about Ethereum it means we are close to the last parabolic move, the choice is yours OP, now can be a good time to get out of the game if you are tired.

Was good to see altcoins pump earlier in the year but last 8 months have been very boring.

Hopefully we see another good run soon, question is will it be soon or will we have to wait till early 2025?

I was going to start a similar thread myself but thought I would just add here as it’s kind of linked.

I have been in crypto a few years now and was buying throughout the bear market in 2022 including the bottom when Bitcoin fell all the way down to $16K.

When Bitcoin was at $16K, some of the altcoins I hold were actually higher in price then they are today which i find strange considering we are getting closer to the peak months of the bull run.

For the next bear market, would it just make sense to buy Bitcoin only? I feel there is no point buying altcoins if the price of them are only going to be lower the closer we get to the bull run?

With altcoins, it currently feels like we are in a bear market. Is this normal to see altcoins so low in price this close to bull run peak months?

the hard truth about altcoin is that, it mostly has life span of one bullish cycle and then it just gonna tanks in valuation after that.

big money rotate around the newer crypto just because it's more profitable and there are more opportunity, every cycle, the big investors always try to push narrative to the newer coin and essentially this have the side effect of overshadowing the old coin.

your take about just buying BTC instead of alt holds truth, only very few altcoin could actually perform as good as solana, even ETH is performing poorly right now some even speculated it might get overtaken by solana at some point, BTC on the other hand just keep getting that massive capital flow from the big institutional investors, investing in BTC is just that profitable I guess.

In my opinion, the altcoin season has not started yet, usually according to previous cycles, the altcoin season starts after Bitcoin reaches the top and then the decline begins and Bitcoin's market dominance decreases.

Bitcoin has not yet reached the top and Bitcoin's dominance is still the largest so we need some time for the altcoin season to start.

However, I noticed a difference in this cycle from previous cycles, in previous cycles I bought a number of altcoins and made good profits with the rise of Bitcoin, but this cycle I see it only declining.

The altcoin pumping season hasn't started yet but it doesn't start after bitcoin's bear market begins. In fact when bitcoin bear market starts (like 2018) we see all the altcoins get dump harder.

That pumping season begins when the bitcoin bull market starts and gets a strong momentum going. That is because lots of fresh money comes into bitcoin and then enters the altcoin market as well since newbies don't realize the risks involved with altcoins. That helps the altcoins pump.
You can see 2017 as the example of such a period...

Altcoins have been diluting their market more and more and more for several years now and will probably continue to do so.

In olden days when there were only 30 or so then even when there were only 300 or so, things were different.

Once there were over 3000, it got a lot more diluted, each one less visible.

By the time there were 30,000 or more it got ridiculous.

It is not necessary though to just keep being pulled around by the massive movements you are too small to have any personal effect upon.

There are still coins out there that have been around for many years and have shown great stubborn-ness over many years and are small enough that even very small players can make a real difference individually, and those offer you some real control over their fate.

Look at the history for example of IXCoin and I0Coin (that is a zero not a letter-o).

Three or four times over history we have ratcheted their value up to a USD or more per coin, only to have the exchange they were on fold or fly by night or "get hacked" losing our entire buy-side of bitcoin and huge amounts of the IXC and I0C, yet moving on to another exchange we have built it up all over again, only to have the same happen.

Nowadays though they are not only on FreiExchange which has faithfully stuck around for many years not yet pulling the plug on us but we have also put them onto the HORIZON platform but also even more recently the Stellar platform, so nowadays we have platforms on which our buy-side offers get to stay in our own wallets instead of on a third-party exchange so this time around once we get them back up to a dollar and more we can just keep on going.

We still use our policy of only "tokenising" half the coins we actually have, so that in principle the other half can be used to buy back our tokens while still holding the coins the tokens represent, so in essence a 200%-reserve policy; then on top of that double reserve we also use a "treasuries" system so the whole game's tokenomics is designed to "lock up" more and more of everything into "treasuries" leaving less and less "in the wild" to potentially "hit the markets" aka "be dumped".

The philosophy is not that huge bags of coins are something one will someday sell off but rather that the bigger the "bags" one keeps off the market the rarer they become "in the wild" where they might someday "hit the markets".

The generational wealth to be made lies not in the bags of coins held by whales but rather in the increasing rarity of those still "in the wild", still available to be traded rather than being locked up into tokens or into treasuries or both (treasuries of tokens).

More and more game assets get locked up into treasuries, more and more of the game currencies and assets formed as "treasury based" get themselves in turn locked up into "treasuries"; the goal is not to leave your heirs and assigns - your dynasty, your "family office" - with bags of coins to dump but rather to pile your generationally increasing "bags" into concrete vaults under your swimming pool, or split between umpteen-of-oodles split keys distributed among safety-deposit boxes on many contininents or whatever other super-frozen frozen wallets knowing that really your dynasty ought never to need to un-freeze those frozen coins because the frozen ones are in the first place only half of it all, the other half can buy back all the tokens leaving the original tokenised coins still buried in forever-freeze for ever more generations.

The money is in the trading and market-making, never in "dumping" your "bags".

The bags exist only to make what is not yet "in the bag" more and more rare "in the wild" aka "on the markets".

The value in the bags is not lost though, because the bags form the "treasuries" of the next generation of assets...

Do bear in mind this is all just a game, a proof of concept experiment, if it works - as so far it certainly seems to - it could take a generation or few of spending lots on  lawyering and legislating to do it "for real" rather than just as a simulation in a game; afterall we already saw Facebook try to take the "treasury" idea and fly with it and seemingly run into some "snags", but maybe if the proof of concept in-game simulation shows it works and works well it will yet be possible to "fly" with it "for real"...

Saying or feeling like that seem to be not enough but you better add more to it for us to get convinced here, like for example you say that the pump this time is much higher than last time, or you saw a really positive news about cryptos (preferably in the altcoin field).

As for me, don't ask me because I'm not an altcoin lover, so obviously I don't like monitoring them but Bitcoin is my only love. Other than that, it is also easy to monitor because it is only one, like I will only type 'BTC USD' in my URL tab and results will easily show up. The other thing/advice you said is still great. Before expecting something, we need to make sure that we already have ammos (a good quality one of course).

You are right of course but I did not mean that the altcoin season starts at the bitcoin bear market but when bitcoin reaches the top and declines a little (but remains close to the top), because in my opinion as long as bitcoin does not reach the top it will continue to dominate all the liquidity in the market but when it reaches the top people start selling bitcoin and buying altcoin and then the liquidity starts moving from the bitcoin market to altcoin.

After that comes the bearish phase as you mentioned when the bitcoin bear market starts altcoin will start to decline as well.

With the way things are rising right now, we could say that they are doing fine, and I believe we are going to end up with a good result one way or another. I am not saying what will be the best case, it will be tough one of course, we need to reach to a point where it will not be a difficult task to wait for alts to go up now.

It started, not at a big bang, but the green is here, and I believe that we will have more green days than red days after today, so I believe things will be quite simpler after this, we will not face any issues and things will not be all that complicated, we just need to focus on how to make some bigger profits based on these upcoming green days. Well, not ally coins in the market could keep up with Bitcoin especially with regards to consistency. If it is with altcoins then we can see SUI making another all time high at this point and other coins like MKR, ETH, and SOL recovers. Don't worry, in most instances, Bitcoin dominance happen and after that altcoins would be leading the market (although with no assurance but that's what our past shows). With your mentioned coins, I honestly don't know of these that much but if you really think these are good coins to hold then be patient.

 There are even big names which aren't also keeping up such as XRP but it might just be taking time. Know what you are holding and be firm of it; bullrun has just began.

Can't say that it is has no contribution of the recent market pump. One reason is him being a pro-crypto politician. Most likely, the market anticipates the support this industry would get which triggered a pre-bullish pattern that we are seeing at this moment.

We are already there and no need to panic except you didn't fill up your bags during the rainy days, because currently everyone is holding very strong and altcoin as well has also started gaining momentum. Though next year is were altcoin would definitely display all they could because currently the market is for Bitcoin and even though altcoins follows the effect might be less than when it's actually time for altcoin. Although there are some coin in the market that doesn't respect the increase of bitcoin, these coin acts opposite bitcoin direction.
