The kind of food and activities eaten and done in childhood can affect the health of the brain in future.
How intelligent a person is depends on how the brain was trained and how much interest a person has in something.
Every healthy baby is born the same way, but the activities they do along the way, the foundation of their education, their interest and everything they do in their day-to-day life help shape their brain. This is why when they are grown, one kid can read a book once and understand and remember what he read, while another kid will have to read it multiple times.

Then, for the "interest" part, a person who finds chemicals interesting will find it easier to understand topics about chemicals or chemistry as a whole. The same thing with a person who finds coding interesting. It is thus interest and fascination that push them further into learning these fields.
This is why you can see a person make music so beautifully; he can make music out of any sound, and it will be beautiful, but he won't be able to know 3x50 without thinking hard.

I feel everyone is unique in their own ways, people can be in the same space with different understanding and mindset , their are people once they get an information is stored in their head while some can easily forget, that is just how they are made , two people can be doing same thing and one can progress more than the other person , it’s just normal , you can have two kids , one maybe very smart while the other can  be skillful, maybe he can fix things in the house when It get bad , but both of them are one blood and  the same parents , so I believe everyone is unique and can’t be the same in knowledge, you must have one thing that makes you unique in your own way .

The uniqueness among individuals is what brings about the differences in them, everyone is blessed with his separate gift  some with knowledge of understanding while others lacks understanding  but may be better in other ways all that is important is there must be difference.
Right from  creation we where meant to understand that all can never be the same in our way of lifes , as for the issue of knowledge gap i will say exclusively that it is from foundation.  Some are fortunate enough to have solid foundation as at when needed why others that lacks capital finds it difficult getting that solid foundation but ends up working hard to get to there desired point even if not as good as those that had that solid foundation. So I will say solid foundation att time can be seen as one reason behind knowledge gap among individuals.
