On-chain wallet that supports Testnet4?

But are there any other on-chain wallets that support Testnet4? This is for an educational project for beginners, I'd like to be able to generate a key on one system, and then restore it on another system.

Yeah electrum supports it’s so as wizz wallet (although not too familiar with it), here is a link to get some few testnet4 resources. https://t4-wallet.anyone.eu.org/.

You can simply generate the keys on the sparrow wallet and import it into any of them. There is also this UniSat wallet that I think would support it

Unless you have specific requirement, Electrum (version 4.5.6 or newer) is decent choice. It's very light application with wide OS support. But regarding generate/restore, take note Electrum doesn't support generate BIP 39 words or individual private key when creating a wallet.

There are other options such as Bitcoin Core and UniSat, but i doubt it's suitable for educational project.

OP can use any tool like Iancoleman or BitAddress for generating the keys or the BIP39 phrases.

It's not that difficult at all, and for an educational project it's not worth the hassle involved in using other, potentially heavier wallet software.

Actually in my mind the whole feature of being able to import the same seed phrase in the other app (like Electrum) is pretty critical, to me that's the magic, is that it doesn't need to be associated with the original software. So Electrum, because it doesn't use BIP39, doesn't work.

That's what I use Ian Coleman for (on a system that will never be online again). For my own peace of mind, I sometimes try if I can reproduce the addresses and their private keys from a seed phrase. Until now, that always worked

Do you think there might there be a way for me to save this off, and (without needing a ton of skill) adding a Testnet4 option to it, so I can match what Sparrow 2.0 does, in terms of showing the public key, the addresses, etc?

I don't think the address format changed, so it should just work.

Just to be clear, Electtrum actually let you import BIP 39 words. It just doesn't offer option to generate BIP 39 words when you create new wallet.

Good find. Although it's weird i verified this information from one of GitHub issue[1], rather than their website or note on release/download page.
