The crypto world is huge and moves fast. We each approach it in our own unique way.

But have you ever wondered where you stand on the Crypto Adoption Curve? 🚀💸

I’ve created a mashup combining the classic "technology adoption lifecycle" with a crypto twist.

Track as Pepe changes to move through the key stages:

  • Innovators: The “To the Moon!” early risk-takers, diving into the latest projects with fearless optimism. 🚀
  • Early Adopters: The pragmatic researchers, analyzing fundamentals before committing. 📊
  • Early Majority: The calculated investors who ride the wave once the momentum builds. 💼💰

This curve reflects the journey many of us take in the market, balancing hype, risk, and reward.

Take a look at the image below and leave let’s discuss:

1. Which stage do you find yourself in right now?
2. How has your approach evolved over time?
3. Where do you think the crypto adoption curve will take us next?

Let’s have a conversation about how this applies to the current state of the market.

Especially with new BTC ATH, the rise of memecoins and debates about utility vs. speculation.

Share your thoughts guys!

This thread is more about shitcoin/memecions more it is about Bitcoin, so for us to engage in this discussion you may have to change the topic title and move the thread to altcoins discussion board here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=67.0
Between that also what I have noticed in all of this is that you tend to focus more about the investment aspect of cryptocurrency more than the technical aspects and advantages of cryptocurrency currencies, and that could make your analysis about Bitcoin adoptions to be one sided, I mentioned Bitcoin because we are at Bitcoin discussion board, so for that you also have to make more research on what adoptions is and how various individuals approach the cryptocurrency ecosystem.

Memecions is as popular to the extent that those that want to gamble on it price could hype it, but nothing other than that, in terms of usability, memecions are still at zero level for utility usage since those memecions project are lacking any usercase development, so for that you are right when you mentioned the potential memecion that maoe tgeir investors rich, but while you are at that, taje nite of the high risk of losing your investment on those shitcoins and only use the amount you can gamble with to buy those shitcoins because of the potential loses associated with those memecions.

Adopt Bitcoin as much as you can, and even as a nob in Bitcoin, you still have to chance to learn and test all the aspects in Bitcoin adoptions such as the technical aspects, assets aspects/investment aspects, and also the currency aspects in Bitcoin, with those combined knowledge, you will have a smooth ride into the future with Bitcoin, but all that can't be mentioned with memecions project since their lack that ecosystems,.

The thing about bitcoin is that it has not yet reached its true potential and is far from mass adoption phase. This means all of us can still be categorized as early adopters even if some of us were "earlier". This is exactly what I told people back in 2017 who were worried that for example $5000 is too expensive and all those who came before were "early". Today the coins those people bought is worth 20 times more (almost $100000).

Especially with new BTC ATH, the rise of memecoins and debates about utility vs. speculation.
What rise of memecoins?
From early days when the altcoin market formed, there have been many useless coins created and sold to newbies. The market is not bigger but the principle is the same. They create garbage and sell it to anyone who buys it.
In fact I think people trust memecoins less than before, which is clear from the smaller pumps they get compared to for example 2017.

Track as Pepe changes to move through the key stages:

Is this is a pepe coin, a meme coin?

Please explain also why a meme coin is included in that picture. This board is all about Bitcoin, so it should be limited to Bitcoin only.

Looking at the cycle in the picture, I’m not sure where I belong because I believe my strategy is simple. I just buy and HODL. Let’s say I started investing in Bitcoin in 2015 and have continuously accumulated since then. Where would you place me in that cycle? I’d like to ask if you could shed some light on this.

I would say people just understood the gist of them, so they don't come near them at all.
Those who didn't - they will learn it the hard way, probably.
But alas, the memes are engraved into the space. And are used by some in the degen trenches.

-snip-

I do think myself that with BTC, it's never ever a time to say - I am late to it -.
Because BTC is golden standard that pushes the space forward with its credibility and what it stands for.
That's why I think we would be the ones to say that we are early to those who aren't inclined to learn about BTC themselves.

How about telling that my place on belonging is not specified here as a bitcoin investor I'm? moreover this thread is direftively to Alt and meme coins.
Would be better if moved to the Altcoin discussion section.

if you think that the "memecoin" is part of the early adopters stage, you have no clue

if you think that we have reached the laggards stage, you have no clue

if you think there is only once cycle, you have no clue

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both researched opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

Meme coins that are created by smart contracts are easily to be born, and developers or project teams, sometimes they don't spend enough resource for developing too, can easily abandon meme coin projects.

Investors or traders who stick with meme coins will lose money, sooner or later, but at the end most of them will lose money. If they are in profit with meme coins, they must consider time to exit their positions, secure their profits, and try to use their money and profit for investment in Bitcoin, the best one in this market.

Switching capital to other altcoins is risky too because in a bear market, Bitcoin is the strongest and they will never know when a bear market starts.

There is no definition in the picture (but there is in the post): early adopter of what?  Grin
If crypto itself - Nah, I agree with you - memes are surely not a thing to start your journey with.

Risky, but sometimes it’s worth the gamble...especially if you’ve put your money on those popular meme coins that have skyrocketed “to the moon.” However, there’s no comparison to Bitcoin as bitcoin is in a league of its own and it’s not tied to any altcoin trends or hype.

In the altcoin market, it’s all about what’s the trend at the moment, first, it was NFTs, then meme coins. But as well all know all altcoins trends will fade while Bitcoin on the other hand, is here to stay. It will always hold the crown as the crypto king, with the biggest market cap in the entire crypto space.

Liquidity goes from BTC to big alts and from here to memes, and then it all repeats itself.
So,yeah - better to go into alts than into these memes.

It’s easy to play around with altcoins during a bull market --  but in a bear market, the smart move is to shift your altcoin investments to Bitcoin. That way, you minimize losses. I learned this the hard way in the past...  I got too confident with altcoins because I made solid profits during the bull run.

When the bear market hit, I still HODLed my altcoins, thinking the same strategy would work. Turns out, I was dead wrong. HODL really only works for Bitcoin.. it’s built for the long term holding, unlike most altcoins that crumble in a downturn. Lesson learned.  Smiley

Can't we say that when the BTC DOM factor goes down, alts usually react with growth to it?

we're still pretty much in early adopter stage, dare I say it because there are simply too few of big financial institutions and retailer who diversify their portfolio to cryptocurrencies in general.
you can see that pretty much only limited amount of company have the guts to include crypto in their portfolio, and this is in developed country, the big corporation and financial institutions in developing country are even lagged behind.
I think next we'd see early majority where people are considering crypto as a real option for their diversification, prominently in developed country and then after that we'd see late majority when developing country started doing the same thing. just my 2 cents though take with grain of salt.

We do not know how many people will end up adopting bitcoin and this makes it difficult to know where we are on that curve, most of us are not innovators, and like you I feel we may be part of the early majority, however if bitcoin is adopted by at least a billion people all around the world, then it is entirely possible we could be part of the early adopters and this will increase our profits to unimaginable levels, as all of those people will want to buy more bitcoin, driving up its price.

Yeah, we didn't innovate and we know that. We are simply the adopters and the investors that can be said quite early to enter this game.

however if bitcoin is adopted by at least a billion people all around the world, then it is entirely possible we could be part of the early adopters and this will increase our profits to unimaginable levels, as all of those people will want to buy more bitcoin, driving up its price.
We will never know if there are already a billion people that have adopted Bitcoin. But, it is not us to judge if we're going to be part of the early adopters or at least we can but let those late comers tell us that we're quite early and they'll distinguish that we should be part of that gang. And it is for them to decide if they're going to buy a bunch of it because I think that whenever we enter that number of adopters, the price of Bitcoin is surely quite high by that time then. As again, many will say that Bitcoin or the specific cryptos that they like are already expensive.

I just bought a coin named Hawk Tuah because a drunk girl told an interviewer to spit on that thang. I’m not sure if that puts me dead in the middle of this chart, or on either extreme, but it feels like something. Anyway, don’t be like me. Buy Bitcoin and hold. Altcoins are just ways to get more Bitcoin for those who launch it.
