Welcome to the forum, smith, and let me advise you not to hurry. You are very young and you have all the time in the world, time needed to learn and avoid mistakes and dangers that are common, sadly, in the crypto space.

You may prefer, as many do, to learn for a price: every time someone is scammed, loses his keys (or worse, don't save them), get's hacked, etc. we tell him that he learned an expensive lesson; but you are in time to do it more prudently, so take your time.

To add a bit, the knowledge I have gathered here as a newbie is based on the dedication and resilience to learning. That should be your driving zeal. ''LEARN''. And how do you do this,, by ''READING''. As you already said you are newbie I also understand what you want to start your journey here so the first think you have to do is many peoples already said that is read the rules and the know the ethics of the forum you can familiar with just reading the rules of forum and also exploring the Meta Board and the Reputation board.

You really should not disclose your personal information here, as the name imply bitcoin forum meaning you can get any form of knowledge here either forum related or bitcoin knowledge in general. I love seeing newbie develop passion to embrace the digital technology for example I had same thought choosing bitcoin, what determines your growth here while learning bitcoin includes reading. There is no shortcut here, this one you are saying greater altitude faster than expected. Whatever your aim of being here is, I can't really tell. But if you must get anything out from this place, you must dedicate your time and follow due process. When I say dedicate your time, you must give to reading, and contributing meaningful to posts you have knowledge about when you come across them. Many who came to this place thinking that it is a place that they can make it overnight, have all ran away, when they saw the demands and requirements of what it takes to be here, they all ran away. At first exploring the forum and reading threads in the forum will seem like a waste of time for newbies they think to rank up there is a special task people carry out to grow their rank anad they are always too eager to grow their rank and always want to do it as fast as possible without wanting to learn anything at all.
Every high rank member started as a newbie too and they didn’t achieve high rank by being lazy and unserious but I guess most newbies are here just to make money and they want to do it as fast as possible that’s why most of them end up giving up along the way.

Navigation in the forum isn't hard. As I see it, you already know about it since you were able to post in this board which you have to navigate or to click the board. I am sure you won't take long to know which board you should post for a certain topics like for beginner topic which is this board and meta for forum related topics anr gambling and gambling discussions for gambling related topics and more. The guidelines are always pinned there, but some newbies don't always know about it, which is why they are being pointed or directed to it each time they create an awareness thread about being new here, and sometimes they get more exposure with the kind of detailed explanation that they will get from other members who understand the rules very well, but some newbies, after this, don't make out time to read through all the responses that have been given.

Newbies are always novices and as such would make some mistakes but it is our duty or out of kindness to guide and direct them whenever we notice it or they request help just as this OP has done. I remember when I was a newbie, I saw the pinned posts on threads but I was afraid of clicking on them because I thought it would get me into trouble as they were pinned there by the admins so I avoided it not until I started reading posts and comments and I began to explore the platform and saw posts about the pinned post that was when I was courageous to start opening them and I read them all through and got more knowledge about the threads and the platform as a whole. Maybe this might be the situation of some newbies here and not until they are told to do so, they would not, or out of courage and boldness, they try to see for themselves what is written there only then would they have an idea what is written in the pinned post.
