What happened: Ponzi scheme
Quote
The goal of this Sincere Pyramid is to be eternal; it will pay as long as new people join or make new investments, taking advantage of compound interest. We retain the values only until we gather the total amount needed to pay the 1st in line.

let me explain the main purpose of this project, which is to restore the reputation and increase the popularity of Bitcoin, which has been unfairly associated with fraudulent schemes in the past.

I saw the thread but I thought the big scam alert of the first person that replied on the thread is enough. But nice for the encouragement by giving him negative trust. At least, it is very clear that Cleopatra_sipy is on this forum for no two reasons than to scam. The account is worth all negative things given it. Let me also add one more to it.

Although, it is called sincere pyramid Grin. Pyramidal scheme.

Flag also supported.

I saw the thread but I thought the big scam alert of the first person that replied on the thread is enough. But nice for the encouragement by giving him negative trust. ..

In order to leave a negative review, it is necessary not only to have sufficient grounds for this, but also to archive them. Since I had previously come across the fact that the content of the topic, as well as the website, could easily be deleted by a fraudster, and the validity of negative trust in such a case was not confirmed by anything.

I admire the bravado and honesty of the accused profile.

Bravado because they do not care to shy away from posing it as as a "Pyramid scheme" - every other member of this forum know what that is today.

Honesty because they are doing it with the objective that certain people make money from it and they are willing to let such people get a chance in making money.

My only gripe is that if they used these traits somewhere better, they would making money in a honest manner and be able to sleep soundly at night.

Flag supported from my end.

Honesty because they are doing it with the objective that certain people make money from it and they are willing to let such people get a chance in making money.

I won’t consider that as “honesty” - pyramid scheme usually follows this pattern where those that get in first or are at the top of the pyramid get paid and the more they bring people they more they get paid and while those at the bottom get scraps or nothing and investment from those that gets in later on will get divided by those at the top (including the creator).

So I think they are just following the normal pattern of this scam, they are not being honest - if they want to be honest then they should make it known that only those at the top will make profit before they eventually disappear with funds.

Btw, I’ve supported the flag.

It's amazing what kind of things you can see these days and how there are people who will try to embellish a classic scam with nice words in an attempt to turn it into what they believe is a genuine project. They want to restore Bitcoin's reputation and make it more popular by scamming people out of their money. They even go as far as calling themselves innovative and geniuses, comparing themselves to satoshi.

The worst thing is that it's true that there are people who would gladly participate in such pyramid schemes if they knew they would get early payouts and profit by getting out before everything comes crashing down on other participants.

As long as there are beginners and people driven by greed, such schemes will continue to appear, and the number of scam victims will not stop increasing... These fancy and ridiculous words are merely bait to lure members into trying the silly game they created to steal their Bitcoin. I have already submitted an abuse report to namecheap.com via their official complaints email and await their review. Additionally, I wanted to inform you that the announcement topic created by this scammer got nuked.

By exposing scammers and their schemes, those who might consider participating will stop immediately. Anyone who truly understands the risks of pyramid schemes and knows their tricks will never risk depositing their money based on promises that could be completely false unless they are out of their mind.

I am glad to hear that, but I am also a bit surprised. I never liked that Bitcointalk doesn't moderate scams. It's something I have never seen on other forums, regardless of the niche. Bitcointalk was unique in that way, but not in a positive way. The question remains, if Bitcointalk and its admins don't moderate scams and ban scammers, why did they delete this thread and all but one of the user's posts? Seems like an arbitrary decision because they don't handle all scams in the same way. Perhaps the posts got deleted due to a different rule violation because scamming isn't against the rules.

The topic opened by the scammer was deleted due to the placement of a referral link, which contradicts clause 4 of the rules of the forum and my corresponding report about it.

are they trying some reverse psychology or something? because it's so funny that they are not even trying to hide it's a pyramid scheme.

Soon, everyone will be talking about the Sincere Pyramid.
this part particularly cracked me up, because here we are talking about it, just not the way they hoped for. lol

I never liked that Bitcointalk doesn't moderate scams. It's something I have never seen on other forums, regardless of the niche. Bitcointalk was unique in that way, but not in a positive way.
the way i think of it is that scamming is a virus here on the forum. although, unfortunately, there will be some victims, but the more you are exposed to scams, the more immunity we build. (things i tell myself to cope with reality)

Exactly my point, they are being plain simple about their scheme and hope people fall for it. The thread has been nuked. So that is a good thing for now.

I think our power is limited here to building awareness about scams and actively reporting scams. It is a side effect of free speech that people can talk up any bullshit they want and it can spread like wildfire, much of the internet phenomena that happen these days - scams propagate through word of mouth similarly, specially MLM and HYIP.

But those who want to get scammed, you cannot stop them.

The topic opened by the scammer was deleted due to the placement of a referral link, which contradicts clause 4 of the rules of the forum and my corresponding report about it.
I see. So it's got nothing to do with the fact that the project is a scam and a pyramid scheme that the admins decided to moderate, the post got deleted due to a rule infringement. The scammer made a mistake and inserted a referral link, a death sentence on Bitcointalk. In other words, he is welcome to try and scam people again, but for the love of God not with referral links.
