Hey guys. It's 9:39 PM here, and the bright white background when I open Bitcointalk on my new phone is burning my eyeballs out. So do you all know of any userscripts I can add to chrome to make this site run on dark mode like the rest of my phone?

Also, it looks like it's intelligent enough to not wipe out my entire post when I navigate away.  Smiley

And why is the editor text so big and got underlines all over it? I must have been using my iPhone for too long. Lol

Use Via browser. Set it to dark mode. If you are using Android 11 and above, you will like it. No ads. Recommended.

Or if you are using Phoenix (PHX) browser, you will like the dark mode. You can disable the notifications and news feeds or something. But you will not be able to disable ads but which is not that bad as you can skip it or disappear after 5 seconds. J am not recommending this.

Also UC browser has black mode. But it will be adjusting the forum as you zoom out and it make this forum look like mobile unlike Via and Phoenix browser that looks like computer.

I had this problem when I first switched to Android. Anyway, I understand your problem and I am trying to solve it for you. NotATether bro you follow the steps I have given, I hope your problem will be solved.
Code:
Let's Start:
1: Go To Your Chrome Browser.
2: Go To Chrome Such Box.
3: Write (chrome://flags) And Such
4: You Can See (Again Such Box)
5: Write (force-dark) And Such
6: You Can See (#enable-force-dark)
7: (#enable-force-dark) there you seen the (Default). You change (Default) convert to (Enabled)
8: lastly you saw to (Relaunch) Click
9: Complete (Done)
And you need to use desktop mode to see the text in large size. You can use desktop mode to write and read Bitcointalk posts in Chrome browser because the text is very large. I know that you understand. Smiley

I don't think you can use a userscript on Android Chrome; it doesn't support plugins compared to the PC version.
You can maybe try installing Firefox in your new phone because it's support plugins and then install any userscript plugin and check all dark theme userscript from this thread: "Bitcointalk.org Userscripts/ Add-ons / SMF patches"

Code:
chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark

This one works.

Monday had a massive spike, breaking the 200 EMA. This could be a signal that the market has shifted to bullish.

There are some userscripts I tried for dark theme before but I didn't find anything that worked without issues on all pages so I couldn't use them.
You can search dark mode userscripts on greasyfork.org website and see if you find something that works for you.
If you want to have best results than DarkReader extension is the best choice, but than you would have to use different browser, not chr0me.

There is another ''trick'' that works on desktop using flags, not sure if this is possible in android but you can try:
Code:
chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark

PS
BPIP extension also have dark mode available in settings.

First go to chrome and then settings at setting tap on theme and select dark. Once this step is completed then you should visit
Code:
chrome://flags
and then search "dark", you'll find Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents, change it from default to enabled and then restart the chrome. This will change your chrome's theme and web content to dark mode. It works for me and hope it may work for you as well.

Have you ever thought about reducing the brightness of your screen or activating Android's night mode?

I say this because these are useful solutions to avoid having to use extra apps or scripts.

Some tips for adjusting the light on an Android:
https://www.androidcentral.com/how-adjust-brightness-android-phone

How to activate night mode:
https://www.androidauthority.com/night-mode-on-android-886864/

Personally, I prefer to always have less brightness on the screen. When more brightness is needed, I adjust it manually.

You may have read in such a hassle because you have bought a new phone and try to describe your problem below. If you want to run the Bitcointalk’s site in Dark mode on Chrome, you can use the user script. You can use extension called Stylus or Dark Reader. They will help change the layout of the site and the site will look like the dark mode of your phone. The problem you mention, where text is underline and growing up, is probably due to the default settings of your browser or phone. If you use a rech-text editor, it can change the style. If you see this problem in Chrome, it may be due to your phone’s browser settings, or the editor that you are using is behaving like that. If you wish, you can check the style settings of the editor or use special app to ensure the correct text size and format.

My phone is always on dark mode and so is the browser aswell... the browser theme has always worked for me anyways.

Have you ever thought about reducing the brightness of your screen or activating Android's night mode?
I say this because these are useful solutions to avoid having to use extra apps or scripts.

I do that quite alot plus adding a privacy screen guard which  reduces the light a little bit just that the disadvantage is that it reduce  visibilityin day(especially when ou try to view under the sun).
Hence I use a particular app to go pro especially in the night , it's called 'Blue Light Filter" ( incase anyone is interested, not an advert )... infact , sometimes I do change it to black and white theme using the same filter app..

I would avoid Chrome browser on Android. It's the only one I know I couldn't add uBlock origin to (and I clearly wanted to).

I'm using Vivaldi browser. It's based on Chromium and it has a setting under the Themes  - which is also dark for me too - to turn all (!!!) web pages dark.
And Vivaldi has in-built blocker for ads, popups and trackers.

my new phone is burning my eyeballs out.
Some tips for adjusting the light on an Android:
I remember the days, "2 phones ago", when my phone automatically adjusted the screen brightness depending on the ambient light. That worked very well. But since then, my phones refuse to do it correctly, and several times per day I have to manually adjust the screen brightness.
I've never used a dark mode on anything. Just less brightness is all I need.

For Android, the Opera browser comes with built-in Dark mode,

To Opt dark more, click the profile Icon at the bottom right corner and there you can see the darkmode, just toggle it and everything becomes black.

And why is the editor text so big and got underlines all over it? I must have been using my iPhone for too long. Lol
Underlines are probably as a result of spelling errs, so you might wanna check the spelling or it's probably as a result of differences in US and UK English versions.

There are some people that prefer to lessen their phone brightness than to use dark mode. Also some people will put it on 'eye care' at night which can filter out the blue ray light which is what that is affecting the eyes but it can make someone to sleep faster. I have tried all but dark mode is better in the night than to just reduce the light.

There was another browser which were two on Android that has good dark mode. If you search for Aloa on playstore, you will see the two of them. They both have good dark mode.

If you want to stick to chrome, read what Wonder Work posted above.

Personally, I prefer to always have less brightness on the screen. When more brightness is needed, I adjust it manually.

This will probably do the trick, one don't need any complex method to put it in dark mode, you can just reduced the brightness of the screen.

Most time when I get tired of the white background on bitcointalk I will just put my device in dark mode using the dark mode icon and it will automatically turn Dark background .

The solution I think could prove the best with it having to stress on this and that set up. Reducing the brightest of your device either manually or put it on auto so, it adjust based on the brightness of your environment.other than this, the switch between light and dark mode would be another cool way around this.
Other than this, I don’t find it much of an issue down here, the auto brightness setup does the trick and additionally, I turn on eye protection to protect my vision from those blue rays during screen time.

Hmm.

I think I might end up just using Firefox or Opera or another browser instead.

I just noticed there is no ad blocker on chrome, so that's hardly ideal when I run on a metered connection. So I guess maybe Opera and its data-saving mode will be useful there too.

My device is already in dark mode but I will see what happens when I use that chrome flag.

Use Firefox then. I am using Firefox too. you can install ublock origin in firefox mobile version and it works like a charm.. never used Opera. so not sure about that.

Alternative to what people has contributed here you can turn on your android screen to dark-mode, then enable "Eye care On at Sunset", and also turn on light adaptive. Whenever i am on mobile this feature helps me a lot to control my view on the forum. This was my experience when I started navigating the forum though my android instead of using pc, and pc is more relaxed while using it than phone and there are some text i may finds difficulties reading them because it's too tiny for view. The best place to explore the forum more better is through Tablet, Personal computer or desktop.

There is another ''trick'' that works on desktop using flags, not sure if this is possible in android but you can try:
Code:
chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark

It worked for me. But the images and the signature look weird in this mode. But it looks much better when I am reading or writing. I assume if I want to disable it, I can just follow the same instructions and disable it. Right? I was curious to check what YouTube would look like in this mode. It wasn't too bad. But I realized a note from each YouTube video which is "Restricted Mode has hidden comments for this video."

Whatever the reason is, I am gonna try this mode for a while and see if I face something wrong or if it works fine for me.

Opera browser is a closed source and it comes with a bunch of bloatware installed.
Brave browser is a bit better and it is coming with ad-blocker but you need to manually disable some extra stuff.
Few other options you have are DuckDuckGo browser or Firefox.

It worked for me. But the images and the signature look weird in this mode. But it looks much better when I am reading or writing. I assume if I want to disable it, I can just follow the same instructions and disable it. Right?
Yes you can disable it anytime.
Just bookmark the link I posted and change to default Disabled settings.
You can also play with different inversion settings and see what works best for you.
