Don't get me wrong, and please don't take my comment as any means of racism, but i'm not surprised at all.
Sadly, 9 out of 10 people that have tried scamming me in Crypto were in fact, of Nigerian origin.
I'm sure it's not a mentality, but maybe poverty issue

Well that's too bad, but I would also like to clear the air about Nigerians and the tagged that have been placed on most persons about Nigerians being the most scamming nation, statistics and records are showing that there are many nations that have highest rates and reputation when it comes scamming especially crypto scams especially nation like India and of course north Korean hackers but for some reason social media itself also have dented the image of the global Nigerians tied to scamming.

I don't know why you are talking about crypto scam and highlighting Nigeria, there are crypto scammers all over the world and what statistics do you have to back up your claim that there is a rise in crypto scammers from Nigeria. There are crypto scammers in the U.S., in Europe and in Asia, you should talk about the rise in crypto scam without calling out Nigerians and then the discussion will make a whole lot of sense.

Nigerians are a set of individuals that get consumed by making money. If you want to easily get Nigerians to swindle them, talk about making money the easiest way. This is why for us that are content creators, we have the orientation of making contents around finding money making solutions.

The same thing goes with the crypto scammers that penerated the Nigerian market with the telegram crypto mini apps. These obsession about money with Nigerian youths is a crazy one. After Asians, Africans especially Nigerians are another potential market to tap into.

Nigerians are usually the victims and not the actors in crypto scams but the media will tell you otherwise and swap the story..

The reason for numerous scammers from poor countries is always a bad economy. People will not commit crimes if they have a good life. I still believe that most of these scammers are just surviving, and of course, it is very unfortunate that they cross the line of decency.
You hit the underlining problem surrounding cripto scam in the society.

If citizens have a tangeble source of living there would be rises in scam.

It breaks my heart seeing a citizen  go through the stress of education after some years and nothing to show for it, having a job become a problem. Regardless, it is never an excuse for being involved in crime but I think that the major reason for a citizen involvement in cripto scam.

This is a general human trait, it has nothing to do with Nigerians, neither is it peculiar to Nigerians, some of the posts i am seeing in this topic is driving me crazy. Are you saying citizens of other countries do not like to make money, money is very important to every human being, that is why people work for it, think about it and try their possible best to get it, but like i said, it is a human trait, not a Nigerian trait.

The truth is that scams thrive more under bad leadership and suffering. Sometimes it seems that Nigerians fall victim the most because of the compound suffering everyone is facing. So whatever seems to bring income is hurriedly accepted and invested in.

Crypto scams are rampant nowadays cos even some Nigerians aim at scamming each other for selfish interest. In all, while trying to make it big, we should be conscious and invest only what you are willing to loose or what you can bear it's loss at all time.

This got me thinking what could be the course of this why are people falling into more scams and why is scam on the rise in Nigeria because with the way things are now immediately your identified as a Nigerian in social media platforms online as a Nigerian you are suspected to be a scammer

Make una talk una mind my Nigerian people ?

You are talking about the bad part of the Nigerian citizens and haven’t commended them on the good path they’re known for also too. What you should know is that in every opportunity, there are always scammers waiting for a victim to scam irrespective of the country in question. You may have encountered more scammers from this region than you’ve encountered in other regions, it doesn’t mean Nigeria is a nest for scammers. The rate of scamming in Nigeria can’t be denied especially in the crypto space due to the opportunities in them, but that doesn’t dispute the fact that every country got their own disadvantages and it affects them as well in their quest for crypto adoption and use by the citizens.
