I have supported the flag. Thanks for taking the much-needed initiative to bust a scammer a delusional scammer (I love this description Grin)

Supported your flag.
Then going on to say his program can run on an ancient laptop w/o even needing a miner... I'm sure it can considering it most likely is looking for wallets & keys along with no doubt planting a few back doors in the systems it finds on your local network Roll Eyes  He should stick to Telegram scams where idiots and the technical-illiterate abound.

Yeah, I suspect the same.
If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck  Grin

An ASIC miner is capable of one thing and 1 thing only - mining BTC.

I am not disagreeing with anything else in this thread, I haven't even reviewed it and feel confident that the others here have it right.

But I could totally imagine someone creating a "provably fair" gambling thing which they custom designed to be hackable with an asic miner, so that they could cheat at it themselves.

Of course, scamming people can be accomplished much easier today, but one should be careful with the absolutes.   There is basically no scam too stupid or too contrived for people to eventually successfully use it against crypto users.

Consider the almost constant stream of ECC key cracking programs that show up in this subforum that are nothing but wallet stealing malware. Tongue

Yesterday, we had a little chat when he approached me for clarification, but it seems he has decided against his promise Grin,

I have challenged him openly and privately many times to engage in this thread but for some reason he is avoiding this. He is particularly interested in telling people that he is earning quite a lot through his method without being willing to go through proper scrutiny.

While the method is different, it reminds me of this discussion How 999dice.com is stealing your coins, and exactly why you won't believe me.

Since those thread/reply rarely moved or deleted, i wonder how many people bother report such thread/reply these days?

Rarely, but also I think they're just going to flood in unless all discussion of ECDLP solving is prohibited.  And I have to confess that thieves that target would-be thieves aren't a problem that keeps me up at night.
