Let's reminisce on our Gambling Journey, was it worth it?

Despite losing countless times, the things I learn from here chatting in the forum about my betting looks worth it. I learned a lot from the fellow bettors and I am also earning the coins I use to bet n the forum. If there s anything that is not worth it is losing the hard earned money you got from the day job.

The first gambling site I encounter in crypto was a dice site. I have no idea what I did but rolling a dice doesn't make sense when we do it online so a random number sure if going to look fair. Until the provably fair was introduced.

What determines worth anyway? IF you meant financial gain from it, then I don't think it was something worthwhile for me lol. Afaik I'm still a bit below in terms of actually breaking even, so a loss basically. Still if it was just in general, personally think it is?

Started gambling cause of highschool friends. Brought poker cards to school so I learned how to gamble there. Continued on at around end of my college and just stuck with gambling regularly after that. I've had some fun moments with gambling after all. And as I've said in my other posts, can't really recall my biggest win yet. There wasn't one that was THAT memorable since most of them were around equal-ish in terms of amount.

Self control will be important for all gamblers to prevent the bad things that can happen to them when they are gambling. Gambling makes me interest to return to casino and play many type of gambling games. But we must have responsibilities to prevent the temptation from gambling that can makes us difficult to stop gambling.

I can not make the biggest win like other people, not too big than $20. But I glad that I can stop myself when I get that winning because if I decide to continue gambling, I may lose that winning and can make me stress. I can responsible with my gambling habit and hold myself from the temptation of gambling because I know that gambling is not make money place.

My biggest win is on a lottery; its an equivalent of $7k in US currency.

I just developed maturity and being a responsible gambler after a few years of gambling. after losing a lot of money
and realizing that its not going to work trying to beat the house, so I leave it to luck without trying to force a win.
Many newbies think that they can beat the house and eventually make money, but after years they have two options, and these are, they keep trying or have a mature approach to gambling. the latter is preferable than the former.

Meanwhile, the journey of gambling is not always pleasing which I expect you to explain in your statement because a lot of missing this aspect about gambling is one of the reasons why some gamblers never prepare themselves for the walk away when gaming is not on their favor. After all, it takes a good well understanding about the concept of gambling for gamblers to walk away when the game buzz takes over.

I had an interesting thought this morning while reminiscing about my gambling journey. I started wondering if it was truly worth it.

as long as you are getting whatever you started gambling for then i think it is worth it so if you started gambling for fun and years later you are still having fun then you could say that it is pretty worth it regardless if you had made huge profit since your initial purpose is to have fun anyway

but if you want to calculate how much worth is gambling over the long run profit wise it might not be the same answer especially if you had not yet had a big win because how i see it is when you win big you would also bet big and it pretty much is just a cycle, no?

biggest win is nothing life changing but big enough to put a smile on my face

thankfully no big losses as well that would put me in a deep debt so i would say i am responsibly gambling and gambling to my heart's and wallet's content

What got you into gambling?

Gambling especially Sports betting is something that is very popular around me and as a result of all the influence I started gambling and almost to the point of even gambling irresponsibly if not that I came onto this forum and then discovered that gambling should be for fun and entertainment not for the purpose of making money.

Still chasing it, not that I have more focus fully placed there, but I expect that one day I will make lucky bets.

Not really worth reminiscing because of the money I lost. You cannot escape losing money when you are a newbie because you do not know how gambling works.
The only comfort were the memories of enjoying while playing; its the result that hurts because its not in my favor.
I have no choice but to control how I gamble or I will further lose a lot of money, my job, and my relationship.
Its good that everything is ok now I have to lose a lot to realize what's wrong and correct it.

Honestly, my gambling journey isn’t a huge deal, I just treat it like any other regular activity and have some fun. I don't spend endless hours gambling because, with sports betting, you can place a few bets quickly on your phone or computer. It’s pretty normal for me now, probably because I’ve learned to be a responsible gambler.

The best time I remember was when I won a big parlay, but since I ended up losing most of the time on parlays, I stopped doing them and now focus on simpler bets like moneyline odds and point spreads.

If this has really been your experience then it's indeed a regular activity. Most of us can't reflect back on our gambling journey and say this because we have made a lot of mistakes. Personally, my gambling journey wasn't worth it in any way, I lost a lot that gave me PTSD for a while. This is one of the main reason why I quit playing casino games, it's hard to be a responsible gambler with casino games. If I had focused more on sports betting perhaps the losses wouldn't have amounted to so much. One way to cut down your gambling addiction is just sticking to sports betting and this is what I've learnt over the years.

The key is self control! knowing how to walk away and never betting more than you can afford to lose is key

Actually I think everyone has a story to tell about his gambling journey, honestly my gambling journey wasn't that bad at all, not that I have not been experiencing lose in gamble rather I always gamble using a little amount of money. Just like  every other responsible gamblers do, and also setting a limit.

well I most say is Worth it reason is because I could remember the feeling whenever time I win in gamble and as well the fun and the entertainment we got during this process though I don't actually know about other people but I guess most people will still feel the same way I do.

In my case it was also a friend who got me into cryptocurrency gambling and gambling in general, before of that I was only into playing bingo with family and friends when I went to vacations with mi parents. All started when my friend recommended Freebitcoin to me as a way to get some Satoshis in their faucet, I never withdrew any money out of it, but allow me to have my first experiences with with games.
If I reminisce my travel through the world of gambling and online casinos, I think it has been worth it, for now not as much when comes to money or good luck which I could brag about on this forum or anywhere else, but AI have learned much on the importance of self-control and discipline and who unrealistic it is to become a professional gambler, how itis something portraited in movies and novels. It opened my eyes to how gambling actually works, quite far from what we can see on Television.

One thing I learned about gambling is that, you don't have to take is very serious (like a source of income) but along the line, you are definitely going to win some big or little profit that will still be helpful to your needs. My gambling habits is on tracks and I don't gamble when I don't need to, I don't spend valuable time on gambling and I don't also spend the money I intend to use for something else on gambling. So, there's no big deal for me. Am just neutral.

My gambling journey is actually not a problem because it is just an activity done to fill my spare time and yes I do that, I have never gotten a big win that makes me get great pleasure, but before I got a few wins but not much, the beginning of the gambling that I did made me feel happy because luck was on my side by making me able to get a win.
Apart from that, this first gambling can also determine our attitude in the future, because there are people who gamble with the first time they win and what happens is they think they can win consistently with gambling, this is dangerous, therefore the need for discipline and responsible behavior.

Financially it has not been a profitable journey. But it has been one of the most entertaining adventures. I have not had a big win for some time now but little wins have been coming periodically. I am not a gambler who keep records of gambling transaction because my main intention is not to gamble for money. Since I usually gamble with the amount I can afford to lose, there is no need keeping record. My major focus is the fun and I have been catching it through sports bets.

Well, it wasn't easy at all because when gambling as young adult then, there are lot of interest that made me to start gambling though is been while but it was through footballing and i developed interest, not just that i started gambling immediately but was just doing it on and off but yet till i get to here when i began to get involved in most of the gambling discussions and this then now increased my interest to gamble.

My gambling journey has been interesting, I win sometimes and lost more times but I can't complain because that is what gambling is. Thanks to this gambling discussion board I've been able to understand more about responsible gambling and it has helped me to be a better gambler. I don't have high expectations to win anytime I gamble, I just have fun with amounts that I can afford to loose, not chasing loses or over gambling with my wins. What I've learned about gambling is that people shouldn't take it too seriously because it's not a business where you have assurance of making profits after transactions, winnings is by luck not really because you're a professional.

The first time I gamble is when I was a middle school student, I buy scratch card from a random seller, the prize is gift and small amount money. For many people it's not gambling,  but for me that's gambling, we can lost our money or we can get something from our money. That's lead me to the real gambling when I get older.

Was it worth it? if we're talking about financial, nope, since I loss more than I win. In terms entertainment, it's worth it.

Have you ever thought that these amounts that you can afford to lose and since you say you lose more than win can be put to better use. I think buying some alts cryptocurrencies and having them in your wallet gives you a more sense of power rather than trying gamble. I am not saying do not gamble as if gambling makes you happy then forget what I say here and keep doing what makes you happy yet I know that over the long run gambling makes most of us sad because of much more lost amount of money compared to what we win sometimes. Well gambling without expectation is a great thing as you do not get mad even if you lose it all and if you are able to manage and hold onto it then continue gambling, personally I could not hold it that much.

When I look back the year I started gambling and how far I have come, I would say it has been worth it. I have had some very magnificent wins that came just at the time when I needed some financial assistance and it was a life saver. One gambling incidence which I will not forget is the time I chased my loss and lost the little I had won. It was the first and the last time that ever happened. This gambling community has also played a huge role in my wins too.
