Hi,

I am in the process of developing a Biometric MPC Bitcoin hardware wallet, a smart card with fingerprint sensor, that allows you to generate the key on-card, then export and backup split keys, then have the card via NFC sign together with your phone transactions.

We remove the single point of failure for hardware wallets and software wallets (the seed phrase) by splitting and distributing the key.

I want your honest opinion to this, and I am looking for good open source implementations (if there are any) of hardware wallet smart card designs that use Multi-Party-Computation.

I am aware about keycard.tech and satochip.io but anything else would be a great input and help.

I am currently with one Angel investor in this, and seeking additional funds to build up a small team.

You can find a small deck on invest.nuri.com and also here https://docsend.com/v/gg5rq/nuri-fundraising

Looking forward to your feedback and critics, you can also book a call with me via cal.com/em

Sorry but I don't like the idea and I would never buy any hardware wallet like that works seedless.
I am fallowing development of all hardware wallets and those who tried to experiment with stuff like this are usually closed source (tangem for example), another big NO for me.
Biggest problem with seedless biometric wallet is that there is no compatibility with other wallets, that means no more XXX company = no more coins.
Not to mention privacy implications of using biometric data connected with coins.

Hello, thank you for your feedback.

Let me clarify things:

1. Nuri will be a Multi-Sig Wallet with Seed Phrases, but you don't need to backup them
- 1 key will be on the hardware wallet
- 1 key will be on the phone
- 1 key will be in the cloud

it will be a 2 out of 3 multi-sig (bitcoin only) similar to the architecture of muun.com that does 2of2.

2. Nuri.com will be 100% open source, i agree with you

3. Nuri will be 100% compatible (the smart card) and open source, it will be easy to implement it into existing wallets, like keycard.tech for example

4. The biometric part (fingerprint) just adds an additional layer of security, so instead of a pin code, you can just use your finger and tap the phone to co-sign

Any more questions?
