I’m not in the league of being knowledgeable first before accumulating bitcoin,there’s absolutely no time to waste.I don’t consider acquiring knowledge before investing a waste of time anyways but that’s what you can do as you’re accumulating bitcoin.Most investors started their bitcoin investment journey with “bitcoin is volatile” that was only the knowledge they had then but as time goes on they became more exposed and enlightened about bitcoin.So in my own perspective,don’t allow acquiring knowledge to hold you from starting right away with your bitcoin investment journey.

As you said, Bitcoin is a store of value. That is why we need to increase our investment in Bitcoin. Bitcoin is better than spending time and money on something cheap and worthless. Even if someone does not have the funds available to take risks, they can invest in Bitcoin if they have a discretionary income stream available. Another factor  that we humans often overlook is the fact that risk does not only come from the asset you want to invest into, risk can come from how much exposure an investor takes.  To some extent it's actually true that Bitcoin does not have much risk, but the moment you invest all your savings into just one investment, any little price movement can create unnecessary pressure.

That is the reason why it is very important to understand what you are putting your money into and don't invest above your limits.  The moment an investor understand his or her risk tolerance and they don't go above their limit, short term price movement will become something they can manage and not a reason to make emotional decision.

You’re right, altcoins possess more risky threats than bitcoin as majority of them aren’t viable even though you’re holding them for a long term they’re not just adding anything of value. At least judging from past bitcoin performance we can see that bitcoin has great potential especially when held for long term,  It doesn’t just pump and dump and couldn’t recover, it had a great potential to recover after every market downturn as its evident of the current sharp increase in bitcoin at $77k currently after being dumped several weeks around 63-$64k.
