I guess some celebrities X account that were hacked which were used to promote crypto could be intentional by the X account owners. I may not be right but I guess so. Or is Kanye lying? I do not think he will lie.

Kanye West claims to have rejected $2M offer to promote crypto scam

Kanye West, aka Ye, says he rejected a $2 million offer to promote a cryptocurrency scam, which involved posting a fraudulent promotion and later claiming his account was hacked.

But what that is important is to be careful of scam like this. People will pump the token but the scammers will dump it. Making those that later invest in the token lose.
For Kanye West to come out openly to say this means this is what has been playing out all these while in the space, from the ones who call celebrities. They will collect the money offered to them, to later claim that their X account is hacked. That ends the story; there are no traces or questions about what happened of their account being hacked to use it to promote scam crypto coins.

It's unfortunate; this crypto space has turned out to be a ground for scammers to scam people and get away with it without any arrest. I just hope people avoid investing in memecoins for a quick gains because this is why there is a high rise of scammers in the crypto space, that willing to do anything to succeed in scamming crypto investors

I will commend him for this singular act he has displayed. Not every celebrity would have such a mouth-watering offer and reject it. In my country, lots of celebrities have been called out as a result of their involvement in promoting scams which never ended well with their fans. Such an offer is very tempting to start with and I guess if it were to be some of the other celebrities, I believe they would hop in since it is free money that would be gotten from their fan base, they wouldn't mind doing it and damning the consequences for such action.

Something came over me after I read the link and the name of a prominent exchange CEO was mentioned. Does it mean they are also involved in this act of wanting to run a pump and dump through Kanye's Twitter mention of the coin? because if he wasn't involved, the anonymous would not have mentioned his name promising Kanye to give the contact to him.

I began to suspect the claims of acciubt hack by someone celebrities when a top musician in my location disputed the claim by his management that his social media account was hacked. Your observation that Kanye West just exposed an agelong strategy used by these celebrations to scam their followers is true.  Immediately they claim that their account was hacked they shield themselves from taking responsibility for such scam posts.

Law enforcement agencies should start investigating these claims especially when such claim led to lost of funds by the public. I pity people who see these celebrities as demigods and obey everything they say. Doing research is sacrosanct regardless of who is sharing the information.

I am very much sure that if it were to be some other artist, they will gladly accept the offers since they are making money from it, but on the other hands, they are just using his popularity and fame to gain attractions to what they wanted to achieve, i wonder why they couldn't even use that for doing what will benefit other peoples life than wasting their efforts on scam.
Don't be too quick to judge and conclude; some of these artists can be very funny, but Kanye West, although he seems to be a man that respects his reputation a bit, he openly says this, but it does not mean he could not also accept offers which others will boldly reject. There are influencers that value their audience and reputation and can't break their trust because of money; there are also those who can boldly do that because money is the only reason they fight so hard to reach that level.

I don't also mentioned that he did or would do such a thing, but some can do it as we have contributed on this, but come to think of it again and taking the same guy Kanye West behavioural manners with his wife Bianca Sensori, isn't it disgusting to the public from the way he always strip her to naked on the street for public view, he cares about nothing, a reputable and responsible man of integrity wouldn't go this weird, so hearing that he didn't even accept for such offer is strange to me, though i know very well he has his money and things like that may not really freak him, but still a kind of dude i don't like his behavior personally.

The fact is that not everyone have the ability to resist such offer most especially the highly greedy one will jump on such opportunity most especially musicians around my country here, some of them have veen accused of sponsoring scan coins and nothing have been done about that because of the level of corruption over.

But in the case of Kenya west he is in a country where the law works and at that he will definitely get caught up if he tries anything of such and besides, he is already rich and famous so what the need to scam others of their hard earned money through crypto scams.

Stories like this are why you should not just trust celebrities or any famous person influencing crypto-currency. I can believe this story is true because Kanye West influence can help any crypto projects gain visibility and yes to get Kanye's attention you have to give him a good price.
There is a popular musician in my country Davido that went ever further to create his own token than ended up as a rug pull.

Kanye is a big name, undoubtedly if he had taken the deal to promote such project that would have resulted to big loses for crypto investors who are genuinely attached to celebrity influences on projects. But the other part, is it worth for Kanye and his reputation because to Kanye the amount projected from the project is little to what Kanye has made, that figure isn't enough to pull his legs for something wrong, since we don't trust anyone he might be tempted if the agreed amount should be much enticing to him. $2M offer for someone currently worth close to half a billion Dollars based on the disclosed amount, sure he will be worth more.

Celebrities and influencers are just all full of shady things; what West said could actually be what most of his colleagues have been doing. Some actually don't even use the hack of their social media account as an excuse; some just promote it without any fear and will later come up to say they never knew it was all a scam project.

Anyone who doesn't do their own research before jumping into any form of investment just because their favourite celebrity posted it is endangering the fund they invest in that project. DYOR; it's something that should be taken very seriously.

Celebrities have been use many times just to promote crypto scams and most of them are willingly doing it because of the money they give to them for promotion. After all, they’re celebrities and they can easily deny it and come up with an excuse that they won’t be penalized for their actions. In cryptocurrency, no one is a saint and no one is a devil; be sure you do your research well and only invest what you can afford to lose, you can’t blame anyone for your losses because they cannot be replaceable. Jumping from one hype project to another quickly kills the whole positive energy in the market. You won’t see the value of the positive part of cryptocurrency.

That will be a stupid risk from someone who is worth multiple millions. They could be charged for aiding a scam if they are caught, but then again, the attraction of making some easy millions can be enough to get someone to take such a risk.

But then again, Ye (formerly known as Kanye) has been all over the place with his tweets that it makes it almost impossible to know which could be fact and which is made up.
- Jay -

Thy usually get away without being charged with the " I got hacked" excuses cause there no way to verify if they were actually hacked or not. You can't get charged for something you're not affiliated to. That being said Ye has publicly started several times that he's never going to launch a coin , we all know with his influence and if he launches a coin today he's going to break the market. Everyone pretending to hate him but yet he's still racking and making money from his clothing business without a single endorsement.

Ye is a billionaire and realist I'm sure he wouldn't come up with a $2m lies if they weren't truth. He just shown to the world what Drake and other celebrities did to their followers. They were never hacked, they bought them out.

Problem of famous people helping to sell fake cryptocurrency investments is big worry. We know that why they promote these investments because they make a lot of money from it. But they should think about how their actions can hurt their fans and people who invest in cryptocurrency. It is very important for people to be in charge of their own investments and they should learn as much as they can before spending their money in any cryptocurrency. If they just believe what famous people say and become too excited without thinking they can lose a lot of money. If they want to be safe and successful in cryptocurrency market so they should be careful and make good decisions so they can understand good things about it.

Even though we can't believe whatever celebrities or influential people say these days, he could be telling the truth. I mean, getting millions of dollars to post a link that will only cause other people to lose money is a thing most celebrities would do because most of them only care about money and not their followers or fans. There is a large percentage of celebrities and influencers who wouldn't think twice before scamming their followers or putting them at risk of getting scammed as long as they are making money out of it.

People who lose money to such things need to get smarter. It's not the 90s anymore; we are living in 2025, and people are still throwing their money at a random AI-generated video of a celebrity asking them to send money so that they can get double the sent amount. I mean, how naïve does one need to be to fall for such things? Those who lose money in these scams are also to be blamed for being so careless, in my opinion.
