depsite what happened in his last fight, Davis is still a superstar, so this matchup would generate massive hype, especially if fans see it as a 50-50 fight. If this happens, it’s going to be one of the most exciting boxing events in years.
People will forget about this if Davis delivers a dominant win in his next fight. But if he really wants to make a statement, he should fight a big-name opponent, maybe Inoue? Of course, all of this is just speculation for now since Davis hasn’t said anything about fighting Inoue. Maybe he thinks Inoue is too small or doesn’t want to drain himself by cutting weight. For now, let’s cool down on the speculation... fans are still busy debating whether Roach got robbed against Tank Davis. Or giving a rematch to Lamont Roach for that matter, so we really don't know what will be his next plan as what we have seen in this fight, it was very different Tank. And there are some rounds that he hit Roach with power punches but it didn't deter Lamont from moving forward with his plans. It's obvious by just looking how close the score is, and then the non-call of a knockdown by the referee, which should be 10-8, and so it's a big difference and he could have won by a point in those judges that saw it as a draw.

An immediate rematch of Davis and Roach would be nice just to close this controversy. Although Tank fighting with Inoue can be a stretch, its still possible because Inoue plans to move up. Its just going to be a question of where they will fight because the Japanese always wants it to be in Japan, it looks like his sponsors want it that way. Inoue will have his strategy in place after watching this Roach and Tank fight.

This is what Tank Davis says: https://x.com/Sean_Zittel/status/1896106152007778312And it looks like he is not interested on a rematch with Lamont, not at least an immediate one. For Inoue, he will be fighting in the US, although I read that his supposedly next opponent, Alan Picasso has pulled out of that fight. Alan Picasso is the WBC mandatory for Inoue's 122 lbs belt. But I had thought that he will be fighting in the US at 126 lbs. But if he insist on fighting at the super bantamweight, MJ,” Akhmadaliev might be the best name out there and it will be good for MJ to have at least as crack on Inoue as he is also a former champion at 122 lbs.

Although I would love to see Naoya Inoue fight Tank Davis, I don’t think it will happen anytime soon due to the weight difference. Tank is competing in the 135-pound division, while Inoue is in the 122-pound division, which is a significant disparity. I doubt Top Rank would agree to this fight in Davis’s weight category, so I don’t think it will happen.

And it's more on the camp of Inoue, whether they want to go up to 135 lbs in very short amount of time or not really interested on fighting Tank. But perhaps with this lackluster performance of Tank they will to reconsider. But I read that Tank timetable is just 4 fights in the future. So it might be too late then for Inoue as he will have to really fight at 126 lbs and then 130 lbs before he will be able to get to Tanks natural weight class.

Inoue isn’t the type of boxer who rushes things. One clear proof of that is how he remains at super bantamweight, even after becoming undisputed in the division. He takes his time, moves strategically, and only moves up when the timing is right. If he does decide to step up in weight, it’ll likely be at 126 lbs, where he’ll challenge a champion and aim to take over first. Then, maybe after that, a potential super fight with Davis could happen at 130 lbs if both camps agree to it. That would be great for boxing.

I do not think that 130 lbs could be their catch weight, I'm still seeing that Tank will love to fight Inoue but it will be at 135 lbs and he wants to be the A-side of this fight. I do agree that Inoue's camp are very strategic and it seems though that they will still stay at 122 lbs and not go up to 126 lbs yet in his US debut. This is what I'm feeling, maybe I'm wrong here. In any case, it will might take sometime, and not this year if this fight is going to happen because obviously, Inoue will have to move up a lot and his team might not want to do that to him. They won't lose a sleep not fighting Davis, Inoue already cemented his legacy.

After watching his last fight against Roach, I have to agree with you. I don’t think Tank would take that risk, especially against a proven KO artist like Inoue. Losing to him could seriously damage his reputation, and with how Inoue fights, that’s a real possibility. It’s just too risky for Tank, his popurity might end prematurely if he loss by KO.

If this fight is to happen, it has to be this year because Tank Davis is planning to retire after this year to concentrate on his real estate business (that's what i've heard). Inoue will move up to 126-lb, two division lower than that of Tank's division so i think this proposed fight would not happen as Davis would not go down on weight just to face Inoue.

I guess that explains why he almost lost his fight. When a boxer gets too busy with other things, they can’t give their best in the ring. It’s just like what happened to Pacquiao, when he entered politics and became a senator, his boxing skills started to decline. Eventually, he retired after losing to Ugas. As for Davis, if he’s planning to retire early, he should at least fight an opponent who matches his skill level before calling it quits. Give the fans some great fights before stepping away from the sport.

It’s true 'as a boxing fan I often see posts like this in facebook about their fight. And of course, as a boxing fan I want to see them face each other. Not when they’re already old, like what happened with the MayPac fight.
If you ask me, since they’re both undefeated but in different weight classes, my answer would be that the winner would depend on which weight division they fight in. But if we disregard that, I’ll go with Naoya Inoue over Tank Davis.
Well I'm not really familiar with boxing games plus I'm not a huge fan of it but I'll want to have an experience in it at least. And looking at the both fighters I think they have been doing a great job in the boxing industry have heard of Inoue fights mostly but facing Davis in a fight I think it's no big deal but I agree with the fact that they should face their fears, it shouldn't be about weight classes they should face each other in a fight and the winner will decide the outcome entirely.

But I don't think Inoue would chase weights just to catch up fights since Inoue is known to fight if he has advantage. That's why I doubt this rumored fight would really happen. Incase there's good development and we see both of them make this fight to happen then it will be so great to see if Inoue could bare to fight a high caliber fighter. Since if he defeat Davis then provably that people would provably believe that Inoue could hit more bigger records. For now people are just speculating about this fight to happen so let's what's running update regarding on this rumored fight.
