I don’t care who started it, we just need peace ASAP. Zelensky can not continue this war without the US funding it. JD Vance & Trump were ride yesterday but Zelensky needs to make a peace deal, even if it is not all on his terms. He is sending young men to did every day, he needs to concede territory & sign a peace deal because this war will never be won by Ukraine. The EU can not & will not do enough to help him.
Zelensky doesn't wanna to give up 50% of the countries minerals or whatever which IMO is crazy. The USA has spent 300 billion dollars protecting or helping protect the Ukraine also sending weapons and vehicles, why shouldn't they seek some sort of reimbursement? Maybe they could broker some sort of deal that the USA gets some mineral rights until fully reimbursed for this help or something along those lines. I think it's completely insane to expect unlimited funds forever.
zelenski has no negatives about the trade deal. infact it works in his benefit:
a. putin doesnt get the land
b. trump sends the same troops to protect the land on behalf of zelenski (as pacekeepers
(with guns) instead of warriors

c. america do all the prospecting, drilling mining at cost and then get their payout. and eventually zelenski get a nice income without paying anything upfront from tax payers
d. ukraine rebuilds with nice shiny skyscapers and modern stuff
but what zelenski was trying to say in the oval office was he wanted a secure guarantee contract that the protection will be there should putin push his luck. however trump didnt want it worded that way and took offence that zelenski made it sound like zelenski only wanted the troops on ground as a guarantee of protection if the war continued.
zelenski should have just bit his lip and just nodded in agreement with trump and smiled and thanked trump infront of media.. and then dispute/debate and negotiate terms of wording and needs, off camera.. and the world could have seen a trade and peace deal signed this week

The first thing we need to have clear is that Ukraine is fighting to have a safe future. Not that much to recover ground, not because Putin is evil and not because they have any hidden agenda.
Peace is easy to achieve, you just make a number of concession and that's it. But then you get invaded next summer with any excuse again and again because Putin does not see Ukraine as an equal in any deal.
The only guarantee Trump gave was:
- Putin would not attack again because he respects me.
- Since the US would have business in Ukraine, Putin would not attack.
As you may imagine, nobody in his mind would accept that as "guarantees" after being invaded over and over (despite US business being already in Ukraine when Putin invaded last time) and even if you accept "respect" as guarantee, it would only work while Trump is alive and president - again a crappy idea.
Your peculiar idea about "warriors" with guns is a product of your imagination. It has specifically being said the opposite in terms of US boots on the ground.

Trump was reciting the Ruzzia narrative in front of Zelensky, who has been fighting a real aggression, with real dead and has engaged in diplomacy for many years to try save Ukraine. There is no way you are going to nod and be a yes-sayer to that, it would be simple treason to your contry.
Zelensky perfectly understands diplomacy and niceties, but I would not accept either being patronised by two gangsters in the Oval office or anywere else.
Trump does not recognise Zelensky as a party, he considers he is a beggar and despises him, apart from being angry at him being close to Biden. But the fact is that Trump will appear as the weakest shit on earth if he simply gave Ukraine to Ruzzia (he may not be able to).
All this is largely irrelevant, the problems is that there is something that Trump is not addressing: guaranteeing on the ground the security of Ukraine. The "minerals deal" is just narrative - there is little certainty of what minerals are there and if they are even commercially viable.

False narrative. In 2014 Ruzzia invaded and annexed Crimea and since then has been sending troops and military means to de Dombas.
Zelensky did not do anything to provoke the war, after the Ruzzian invasion of Crimea and the permanent conflict in East Ukraine, Zelensky started seeking for alternatives to defend Ukraine. DEFEND is the keyword here. Obviously, when you have a country 20 times your size and a bid iddle army that has invaded you, you are not stay there sitting wihtout allies.
