Bybit exchange just got reported as hacked a few minutes ago, as confirmed by the CEO Ben Zhou on a tweet on his official X account.

Bybit ETH multisig cold wallet just made a transfer to our warm wallet about 1 hr ago. It appears that this specific transaction was musked, all the signers saw the musked UI which showed the correct address and the URL was from @safe . However the signing message was to change the smart contract logic of our ETH cold wallet. This resulted Hacker took control of the specific ETH cold wallet we signed and transfered all ETH in the cold wallet to this unidentified address. Please rest assured that all other cold wallets are secure.
All withdraws are NORMAL.

I will keep you guys posted as more develops, If any team can help us to track the stolen fund will be appreciated.

401,346.768858404671846374 ETH got moved out from their cold wallet to the hackers wallet which is still under investigation, this hackers are just always busy and active waiting for the slight opportunity to take advantage of a loophole.

Let’s see if this will be another case where everything will get recovered. The CEO already promised that customers funds are safe and all withdrawals are as active as normal, but this still calls for a security concern for those that use the exchange.

Edit: just noticed @fillippone, created a thread on it already few minutes before mine: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5532906.msg65090671#msg65090671

Locking now..

Yeap 1.4 billion ethereum has been hack and it was also seen that currently many users are also facing to withdraw USDt and etherium from bybit, However, I would never want another exchanger to face a situation like FTX, so I will always hope that even I have doubts whether their CEO will be able to keep his promise, but  hope that they can keep their promise.

Anyway I want to also inform you that there is already a topic has been created by fillippone so I will suggest you to lock this topic to avoid spam and multiple thread in one topic.
